It’s actually class 195s that northern run on this route, I was at Ilkeston a few months ago and it was only northern 195-0s and EMR 158s. I did film trains there and the video will be up in about a couple of weeks.
Yes but for over 20 years before the 195s were introduced, Class 150s operated this line. And the interesting thing with scenarios in TS is that they don't have to be present day.
150s under Northern weren't very common, at least not in the 2010s - it was almost always 158s, unless I was very lucky/unlucky (depends how you want to look at it!
Enjoyed that - thank you 👍 After leaving Ilkeston Station, at 20' 40" did you spot Awsworth (Bennerley) Viaduct on the Right? Nicknamed the "Iron Giant" it's one of only two wrought iron viaducts in the UK (the other is in Scotland I think?). It used to carry the line from Kimberley. After undergoing recent restoration and a lot of hard work from contractors and volunteers it can now be walked along 😁
That was cool to sit in the coach car at the first station and i think you should do that in several cars in first and last station after the intro view of the first station and before the departure scene at the last stop, but also do this a couple times in middle stations because the view is awesome. It would be cool if you did it also on journeys.
Oooh more new PTG!! And I agree, love a route that connects and stitches together with others - kinda gives you more value for money when you buy a route, like if you buy a loco that works on multiple routes and scenarios? And these videos are absolutely perfect for fully studying and researching a route and its history - very useful 😊
Quick side note/tip, if you're using Vegas editing software you might need to turn off smart resample in the project/clips as its blurring all the frames by resampling them. When you pause the video at nearly any point you can see its combined multiple frames into one- it's particularly obvious in the external shots when a train moves past the camera like at 1:54. I'm not familiar with other editing packages so not sure what the equivalent setting is Great video otherwise!
Thanks for the tip! Personally, I don't mind it too much as it adds a kind of motion blur affect. But I'm happy to turn it off if it's bothering people. :)
There are badly behaved passengers at Alfreton! I've met them at Derby too, where they walk on the track and actually through the cab of the train! Maybe they're ghosts.
I may be wrong about this, but I seem to remember from somewhere that typically drivers will leave DRA on, even if the signal steps up to caution, until they are ready to depart. And same goes if they passed a signal at caution before stopping. I guess this would serve to remind the driver that the next signal may be at danger within a short distance. Love your videos though!
Everything is set to the highest, along with the resolution at 2560x1440, and the antialiasing at 2x2. The 2x2 antialiasing really gives a boost to the graphical quality in TS!
@@PTGRail Do you have Procedural Flora switched on? I find it puts grass in all kinds of inappropriate places so I keep it off but wonder what I'm missing.
loving these route learning cant wait for more
There's plenty more to come soon! :)

@@PTGRail I think it works fine in the forward-facing/cab clips but can bit a bit distracting on the external ones. Your choice though!
This is making me miss the Midlands already
Awesome Video as always. A question though. Would it be possible to do a Route Learnig video in a winter setting?
Awesome video friend ❤️

Won’t be long before BREL trains running on national rail lines become obsolete.

Can you drive a 153 train
I would love to if the Class 153 gets updated. In its current condition, it feels too outdated to use in my videos sadly.
Is that the one from Just Trains? I like that one. It seems to go well with the Matlock branch.
What year was this senario based?
I'm honestly not sure, but I would assume around 2018/2019. :)
I shared something for what’s coming to train sim world 2 on your Facebook messenger check it out
I'll have a look when I get chance :)
