    I just broke the nozzle on my 7 year old HPC+, it snapped off after I failed to recognise I am an idiot and I was going the wrong way and tightening it up. 7 years of careful cleaning and now I need a new one! As per my normal crazy approach, rather than buy a £40 nozzle I am now looking at a new airbrush! This one looks great, with more control than my older HPC+. Thanks for the overview.

    I agree with your comments, I have one and the price is worth it when you actually handle this airbrush. It is quality through and through...

    I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not but that airbrush has a three stage head assembly. Removing the crown cap allows for even finer detail and if you remove the second cap with the pressure dialed down really low, it stipples. That valve at the bottom will also let you adjust the level of dot size in the stippling. It's designed to do that. It takes a little practice though to get the right balance of air pressure and paint. I would also argue with an earlier comment. This is not the Rolls Royce of airbrushes. It's the Ferrari.

    Thank you for the detailed review. I'm curious, if you look at the needle with a magnifier, is the point of the needle in the center of the nozzle? Thanks again!

    Thanks very much for the video. I am just about to jump in and buy a compressor and airbrush and the whole nine yards but honestly i don't really know where to start or what to go for in terms of something that's easy to use and understand (As cleaning the airbrushes looks tricky as all hell to a noob) Any ideas or suggestions? Thank again.

      Cigar_rasFer I recommend Iwata airbrushes and compressors from airbrushes.com. In particular the Iwata eclipse cs airbrush is very friendly and easy to clean for the beginner. Good luck with your airbrush Journey.

    @ 6:55 you talk about the cutaway being "handy" for moving the chucking nut back and forth to "clean away any debris" .. how is this any different to pulling the trigger back ? to me is does the same thing.. i have yet to find a valid reason for cutaway handles ...much as i have tried, i cant figure why we need to see the needle chuck.

    Nice overview but it left me with 3 questions for you 😉
    The paint limiter and micro/macro valve sound helpful but do you see yourself realy using it? Your trigger control seems excellent already, leaving me with the impression that outside of very special occactions that they would remain unused.
    Are there other front needle protectors included? In case of clogs this setup looks a bit annoying to wipe the needle clean again.
    Also how is the weight balanced? It looks quite heavy and another Iwata that I once held felt relatively nose heavy, which I did not particulary liked.

      @OrcPainterNerd  6 лет назад +1

      Martin Adi good to hear from you Martin.
      There is only the crown cap included mate
      Balance seems absolutely fantastic and is reassuringly weighty fits real nice in the hand
      The MAC valve is absolutely fantastic and is great for saving time having to keep changing pressure at the compressor. I found I use the Mac valve more on 28mm minis as I get real close to them.
      The most important thing to note with this airbrush though is how smooth and effortless it is to get such fine details.
      I think this is impart due to the hardened steel needle to is ultra highly polished the atomisation is exceptional.

      OrcPainterNerd Cheers for the quick reply.
      The MAC valve still does not convince me but tgen I AM a lazy bugger and nearly never switch my compressor setting 😄 So different strokes for different folks.
      Hm, might have to try and find a local reseller of Iwata to see that I can hold a couple of them. Maybe I changed and will now like the balance better. But if you did any longer airbrushing sessions with it, how did you find the trigger? I find with my current that during longer priming/base coating sessions (1hour+) that the ruffeling on the trigger becomes uncomfortable.
      Oh and shame about the needle cap. How did you deal with clogging then?

  • @jnrmack
    @jnrmack 6 лет назад

    I find it front heavy and on the long side but i agree what he said about the cup idle for a drop or two of paint shame the cm b can't have a small cup like that.
    I would recommend buying these trigger springs www.foxystudio.com/product/zsolts-soft-spring-for-iwata/

    Just can't justify the crazy pricing when a much much cheaper airbrush would get the same results. All the same, interesting airbrush just wish it was around the £200 mark and not £400 odd.

    • @OrcPainterNerd
      @OrcPainterNerd  6 лет назад +3

      LeanMachine-Painting I would have to disagree my friend. A much cheaper brush would not perform as effortlessly and smoothly as this airbrush. I have tried many, many airbrushes over the years and this is in a class of its own.
      You can think of it like a car some airbrushes are fords and nissans then there is the really nice super car type airbrushes like Porsche. Well the Iwata custom micron would be a hyper car like a Bugatti Veyron.
      There is an old saying you get what you pay for and with the Iwata custom micron cm c plus version 2 your getting the very best at an expected premium price. 😀

      Looks like we will agree to disagree my friend lol
      I have 12 airbrushs of different standards and prices and painting to competition level but what I'm saying is using an airbrush (current one costing £159 0.15mm needle set up) I couldn't justify £400 plus, when using it for model painting, I'd get the same results. Now I think this airbrush may suit "fine" paint artists like motorbike fuel tank painters, it looks a fine airbrush just saying for the price and results I get, from what I still think is an expensive bit of kit at £159, to jump to £400 and up I wouldn't see the jump in final results for the price.

      i agree with him but you can buy lower price air brushes and you do feel the difference they come up on ebay but i bought mine before the price increase i did not like the cm -c v2 but i found a shop selling the cm sbs v2 for £260 so i bought it but now their price up with the rest i should have went with the sbs first as i all ready had the eclipse sbs and some cups.
