Tressa Thomas is the girl who sung We Haven't Finished Yet with Robert Townsend in Five Heartbeats. Of course as many have noted Countess Vaughn was on 227 and the Parkers, and now Hollywood Divas. I remember Countess being on this show, and even her singing Usher up under the table on a talk show, and have always been impressed with her voice even as a little girl, but Tressa's deep growl and such mature voice at a young age is just something else. She should have sung a more popular song here rather than one that's based on a slow jazz tempo. Shirley Murdock's My World Came To an End is a classic among the mature black R&B audience, but on these popular talent shows, singing popular songs that the general audience resonates with matters as much as your talent and singing. Sad to say it was aesthetics. They were cute to me. They were talented but sometimes looks play a big part no matter how people try not to see it.
