Nice. I have one that looks just like it, except for mine has scissors and Vari-speed. It has the mono/stereo switch card, but it doesn't have the tone generator in it! You just gotta love that deck eh? It'd take an hour to describe all that thing can do! Also have X-2000R, X-1000R, and two of GX636, plus a couple more, all in the closet because I don't use them. A810 is the ONLY deck I have that WILL NOT stretch the tape, no matter how hard you try!
Tim They are both very good machines and both have very gentle tape handling and both sound very good Build quality of the studer is far superior and the studer has the edge on the BR20 on recording and play back and had a more weighty sound That said I could and did happily live with a BR20 as my main R2R at one time The Revox B77 & PR99s are also strong contenders Alan
No, its not far away but it just doesn't quite have that 3D sound and full bass extension, still very very good though and one of my favourite machines
Beautiful! I can only dream of owning one... Maybe some day!
Thank you Joe and yes its a superb machine I love it.
Very clean set up. Amazing!!
❤ amazing
Nice.
I also have the A810 with VU, and a X-1000M in the living room.
Not the BR20, but a 42B.

Another very good R2R is the Tascam BR20 great sound and is also very gentle with the tape
Alan

Alant: I have been looking on ebay for the knobs that I see on your Tascam BR20 to no avail. can you tell me the exact source you got it from on ebay?
Are you playing original albums on open tape. Where do you buy them? I'm just in love with this!!! A dream!!!
Thanks Gonzalo, I record the music directly from Digital FLAC files onto tape.
so only for looking on rotations of the reels? just for athmosphere?
How does the A810 compare to the BR-20?
