Of course you will use every excuse in the book to defend a donation... but there is no excuse leaving that ugly ball 20:36 of solder at C48.. One day you will bump this down on the bench and then hear it rolling around inside. The proven UT61E 22,000 count meter still gives 5-digits under 22v and costs 1/3 the price (if you insist on a junk brand..). If you want Fluke-like quality, a *Brymen 857s* from TME costs less, gives 5/6 digits in both 50,000 and 500,000 counts with fast bar-graph, quality probes, isolated data logging, better protection, and a 3-year warranty. Search RUclips for *Multimetr Brymen 857s: rozpakowanie* With the money you will save, you can buy a clamp meter or something nice... ;-) Saludos de Canada!

Hi Cliff! I was who asked for the multimeter to them because I see a good device in it. I was clear and it has been written, "it should not be there". By sure QC will will create a "quality alert in the process". In manufacturing, is easy to deal with machines. But when workers have to go home after the shift, and there are 8 hours in between or a weekend, the same situation would happen again every where. There is other non acceptance in QC in the other side of the 0.005 Ohm resistor. That is something I will speak about in other video. I could remove the ball and lie, but I was honest. And I wrote it should not be there. This is the point where all contribute and grow old in experiences. This is my first Uni-T in 35 years in electronics. I could ask other brand, but I was the one who looked for them. I see a Company that listen to their customers and is showing improvements and results. That is the reason why they got my respect too and why I gave them chance. By the way! Did you compare the specs between Brymen 857s and UT71C? ...and their price after adding the communication cable? That's a plus for one brand to get in the level of other. I don't mean to hurt our American or European proud, but Electronics Manufactures from China remain me the telling of the turtle and the rabbit. That's a fact, that even myself took time to digest. Many of us, used to offend products from China 20 years ago. Now it is getting kind of late to run after the turtle. How many brands of test equipment can we remember from 20 years ago? How many brands from China beat up so far many American and European brands? The video was about UT71C, you mentioned other Uni-T product and brand with specs that many Chines Companies soon or later will get. (Hope more later than sooner so far nothing helps!).

@@bob.kalpon1398 Yes, good honesty on showing the ball but I still don't know why you leave it there? About the European Brymen cable, yes I think you are right it is extra but it is not expensive.. maybe if purchased with 857s it costs a bit more than Uni-T but for 12 times better accuracy it's worth paying 30 usd more. I know TME can ship to Canada but It still can't understand why Brymen EU has no offices in North America (maybe it's because of a bad re-branding contract made with American toolmaker Greenlee? who knows..) Anyway, according to Joe Smith RUclips channel, Brymen 869s triple display is still the best for the money - but $320 is to much, since I can buy a used 6.5 digit bench DMM on ebay for similar $ and triple display is not too useful for me. Cheers!

@@CliveChamberlain946 Now you got the point. All of us crossed by the same bridge. First is what we can get, later what you can buy. ...in the mid way, there are what do I want or a what do I need and so on. Can you imagen a 9 digits DMM without room controlled temperature? ...or noise free environment? Let's face the true: some extra digits helps for adjustments. But nobody can certify calibration by his/her own even with 6,1/2 digits. If we need a voltage between 5.0 and 5,25VDC. ... what to do with a 5,156927VDC reading? I agree Ferrari Lamborghini is the best car. We hope everybody can get one o even to drive it on their town streets. Or maybe is here where UT71C becomes in a kind of "MPV". (Multi Propose Vehicle).

Hi! Thank you. I will not take the credit. A product tells by itself. On the other hand, the quality issue is something that onces controlled, it can happen again as soon as a new worker comes to that bench in the factory. I will share with you a link from other colleague. Please pay attention how professional was his conclusion in minute 22:48. ruclips.net/video/DWHKaQr27Do/видео.html

This is a nice and honest review! I don't like uni-t multimeters because i'm a fluke fan boy who's never owned a fluke. What is the best handheld multimeter for electronics in your opinion? One point that I'd like to note is that how you test continuity and how others test is very diffrent. You didn't do it quick enough in my opinion. Like they say, extremly fast multimeters are truly helpful when it comes to testing continuity between the pins of ICs. Just a criticle thought!

Hi! "Don't ever be loyal to a Brand. Be honest with yourself to buy a product that meet your needs and let the Brand to be loyal to its clients". Bob Kalpon. Remember we call it continuity test, but it is "less than 50 Ohm resistor measurement" what is higher than 0 ohms. This UT71C is the best handheld multimeter on my bench from the features point of view. But at any moment, some of the other multimeters becomes in the most needed when it matches better the test requirements. That's the reason why professionals have always many multimeters.

the plastic modling on the split connector has the cutout for the piece of metal that goes to the pcb in the wrong direction

Hi! Do you know what is ECO mean? Engineering Change Order. In manufacturing we get a lot of changing on the way. There are many reasons for it. It can be improving, obsolescence of one part, lacking of the part in the market. It doesn't afect functionality. One plastic injection mold could cost up to 40K US$. It looks like it was better to change the metal part than to touch the mold.

@@bob.kalpon1398.Understand that.General speaking on electronic has life time of many products for homes etc got shorter.Tv powesupply where they brake the Comon sence abc in good design by mounting electrolyt caps rigth over or close to regulators heatsink etc, so the heat has to pass by the caps that drying out premature and it fails. My point is in general there is to much garbage shit quality products straight from factory.
Planned obsolescence.harder to find reliable consumer products.cant think of a radio that last 80 years and still work.(not that it is safe to use anymore before all the capasitors in it is changed, the tubes are ok.Why change the mold they could have changed the pcb or just tool it out with a file.Know that it is not a problem for function.Guess i would not like to buy a good looking car to find out it has bad
lacquer under the hood.I have done repair around 40 years and seen how many components have been improved a lot and they still are.Often not designers fault but company policy this premature failure designs.I bougth a lg oled 55 inch "smart" tv,the 1 thing i did was to better the ventilation where the heat sinks was and cut out a
square for a 12 cm diameter slim fan 12v feed with 6v sligth angle upwards glued in place with a gluegun.it has a dust cover and the temperature went down to around 40 degrees celcius and it is silent.

Hi! The answer is not about opinion, but about needs. The best multimeter is the one that its features can solve our needs. Some times it is more important a multimeter that feeds in my pocket than the measurement it will make when I arrive. Other times, it is about precision, other times about data collection, or high voltage protection because it is 2230V or 240V AC and I can't change or adjust the network voltage but safety maters, and so on... It is the reason why all of us ended with more than one kind of multimeter and why brands makes so many models too.

Wait. Please, a 250V fuse will NOT INTERRUPT a fault when at 1000V. ALWAYS use a higher voltage fuse than your application. There is NO POINT in using a lower voltage fuse. Type and current matter, and can be adjusted, but never adjust the voltage.
