Akria is some wild shit man. Best anime of all time, and one of the most bizarre but well thought out premises. Truly a master piece. Great analysis, you deserve way more views on this!

Great writing! I'd try mixing your voice a little higher than the music next time. It's makes it a little more difficult to listen to since it drowns your narration out at times.

Doesn't this movies dystopia feel oddly familiar to the political corruption, hedonism and stagnant industry and manufacturing feel prescient to the present in America.

It does...but I think these are signs and symptoms that lead to dystopia and is an outline of a super power of a country...not that it's prophetic but the traits of history repeating

You downplay the importance of Kaneda in the books.

Not sure about the whole Alpha Kaneda argument, but overall great video about the context surrounding Akira

If your answer is yes then you are probably interested to join the Reviewer community Team Night Saturn where reviewers like you and me are coming together. Other Reviewers who are a part of the team are Antoni Garcia, Karl Wallace aka "Some Canadian Critic" and Joey Hollywood. My channel has reviews as well.
