It is because of Angelina’s incredible ability to tell the story behind the lyrics that I have paid attention to the lyrics for the first time. It was during Angelina’s Norway’s Got Talent performances that the blond female judge told Angelina that she has the unique ability to communicate the meaning of the lyrics.

There are only fan recordings of this song from this concert, it has not been officially released yet. As for the radio - they are now sticking closely to streaming results, and streaming services prefer songs that are short (less than 2 minutes) and simple and have sad / angry vibes (not my opinion, but the result of a study by German and Austrian universities). Angelina's originals are about love and positivity and have complex and meaningful lyrics - so as long as she sticks to her values and identity, I don't think she will have much success in streaming and therefore not on the radio either. If it were otherwise, the songs from "Old Enough" would already be played on the radio over and over again.
And honestly I love that about her, I guess what I mean, is regardless of what “normally” gets filtered into streaming and radio…it SHOULD be. We knew Angelina would write a song about why she will always perform barefoot. I envisioned a somber song but Angelina, as always, surprised me. "Princess of Ruins" is a song of celebration. Both Angelina and the orphan girl she called Princess, benefitted from their chance meeting. Angelina's promise to always perform barefoot and Princess's pledge to pray for Angelina every day, so her dream of singing for the entire world would come true, are cause for celebration. Angelina's family was dancing to this song in Vegas and I am certain all angels will dance to it at future concerts. The smallest act of kindness can have a huge positive impact. I wish everyone recommending this video was also aware that the correct lyrics are available if English (not auto-generated) is selected. Both live performances were amazing with her introduction during the second performance being a little more in depth while retaining the humility, character, and conviction. This was the first performance.
Gina, I made sure my ear was hearing as best possible, when listening to your thoughts - of your thoughts and feelings. I loved them all - every one. Thank you for taking your time to find them. For many thousands of years, we've been listening to stories - around the fire before we go off to dream. When teaching English, which I did to 14 to 18 year-olds for ten years, it was the 'short story' that most captivated us all. We were picking up glimpses of the Great Move to perfection! I think it's something like that :). And what I love so much about this super person, is her leading of the flock - as the bird up front, that breaks the air resistance for the others. She was six when she met the shoeless girl in the streets of a war torn village located in either Syria or Iran. Seeing the girl's scarred feet must have really hit home, for she immediately removed the beautiful green boots she was wearing and presented them to the girl. This was done with a vow to herself that whenever she performed, it would be in bare feet to bring the viewers attention to the fact that so many in this world don't even own a simple pair of shoes, as was the case with this little girl who was either six or seven when she met her. I have a small photo card given me by a nun who served in the slums of Calcutta with Mother Teresa, and behind 'Mother's' photo are the words, 'God hath no greater love than for those who come to the aid of a stranger in desperate need'. Angelina was to be a star soon after that visit and I believe God took note of her actions on that day with the little orphan girl and has been with Angelina ever since.

Hi Gina: Aj´s dad worked as a engineer for an international company and for a short time he worked in Teheran. AJ and mom Sara lived with him. Now I am paraphrasing from her book. You HAVE to read her book, realy. She and Mom were walking on a rainy winter day through the streets, when 6year old Angelina noticed a crowd on the sidewalk. Curios, she walked closer and saw a girl about her age sitting on the bitter cold pavement, weighing people for a bit of money. The girl was clad in raggs, no shoes on her feet. Angelina imagined herself into this girl and felt what this girl felt. The girl had homework lying on the sidewalk, getting wet and dirty, because people careless walked over her homework. AJ heard people calling the girl Princess. When Angelina finally was in front of this girl, she asked "I heard they call you Princess?" and Princess answered " Yes they call me Princess, but I am a princess without court and castles. I am the Princess of ruins!!!" Gina, AJ spoke to this girl in persian Farsi. She saw the hoplessness in her eyes, so she told Princess, to never give up. After Princess noticed her shoes and complimented her on these, AJ looked at Mom, Mom smiled and AJ took off her shoes for Princess. The rest is literally history. As my friends here commented, AJ sang for a lot of charities and fund raisers. In a german fund raiser in Berlin alone she helped to raise 21 million Deutsche Mark, thats around 21 Million USD. She gathered between 2014 and 2020 alone, including this german fund raiser around 31 Million USD. And she is still donating to help the underprivileged. Did you notice the barely audible "Wow" from someone in the audience when she said that the song was going to be about why she sings barefoot? That was not me, but it could have been.😊 When she said the title, my immediate reaction was, "Huh… that's an odd title". And then she said it was about why she sings "barefeet on the stage" and it immediately hit me: "Princess" was the name she used for the little shoeless girl in her story about that encounter. (In fact, the girl also says that she lives in "ruins", but I didn't remember that at the time.) I threw my head back and said to myself, "Oh my god", having realized what was about to happen. I don't remember if the song actually made me cry or just tear up, but I'm fairly certain a tissue had come out of my pocket by the time she started the next song. (I had come prepared…)
I always love your take on what you review, Gina. I agree. Angelina Jordan is a consummate storyteller, telling perhaps the story that has set her philanthropic path and life's purpose. You could tell how important to her it was, that we understand how foundational this song was. The love and determination that poured out in the story just made it more and more emotional. Chris pinned a comment under this video on how to get the lyrics he put in, in case you were not aware. I sensed something with her on this song, but I know she was very excited to sing it. I was thinking we would get something new at this concert--but had no idea it would be this. I also think she is a great storyteller. When the lyrics are hers I think it is at another level. She really leaves a lot of her originals open to interpretation. I feel a lot of her EP is about her career but she writes it as if it was about an individual. I think "Love Don't Let Me Go" may have foreshadowed this in a way (singing to love and not a person). Her depth of thought just astonishes me.
I'm with you: I can hardly ever make out the lyrics to a song being sung. I'm different from you: This song was no exception. I am hearing impaired and hearing aids make birds chirp louder but don't help that much with the human voice. I know that some folks worked out the lyrics and put them as subtitles on at least one version of this performance. The one on BigAngieFan (Chris) has the lyrics. Hit closed caption and go into settings and turn off auto translate by clicking on english without the auto translate. This is the one she used but did not cc when she played it. One must take it off auto mode to get the inserted lyrics. If you look at his pinned comment under his video I think he says this.

We knew Angelina would write a song about why she will always perform barefoot. I envisioned a somber song but Angelina, as always, surprised me. "Princess of Ruins" is a song of celebration. Both Angelina and the orphan girl she called Princess, benefitted from their chance meeting. Angelina's promise to always perform barefoot and Princess's pledge to pray for Angelina every day, so her dream of singing for the entire world would come true, are cause for celebration. Angelina's family was dancing to this song in Vegas and I am certain all angels will dance to it at future concerts.

I imagine this song will evolve from time to time, but will always be an important part of Angelina's shows.

I wish everyone recommending this video was also aware that the correct lyrics are available if English (not auto-generated) is selected. Both live performances were amazing with her introduction during the second performance being a little more in depth while retaining the humility, character, and conviction. This was the first performance.
Gina, I made sure my ear was hearing as best possible, when listening to your thoughts - of your thoughts and feelings. I loved them all - every one. Thank you for taking your time to find them. For many thousands of years, we've been listening to stories - around the fire before we go off to dream. When teaching English, which I did to 14 to 18 year-olds for ten years, it was the 'short story' that most captivated us all. We were picking up glimpses of the Great Move to perfection! I think it's something like that :). And what I love so much about this super person, is her leading of the flock - as the bird up front, that breaks the air resistance for the others. She was six when she met the shoeless girl in the streets of a war torn village located in either
Syria or Iran. Seeing the girl's scarred feet must have really hit home, for she immediately removed
the beautiful green boots she was wearing and presented them to the girl. This was done with a vow
to herself that whenever she performed, it would be in bare feet to bring the viewers attention to the
fact that so many in this world don't even own a simple pair of shoes, as was the case with this little
girl who was either six or seven when she met her. I have a small photo card given me by a nun who
served in the slums of Calcutta with Mother Teresa, and behind 'Mother's' photo are the words, 'God
hath no greater love than for those who come to the aid of a stranger in desperate need'. Angelina
was to be a star soon after that visit and I believe God took note of her actions on that day with the
little orphan girl and has been with Angelina ever since.

Hi Gina: Aj´s dad worked as a engineer for an international company and for a short time he worked in Teheran. AJ and mom Sara lived with him. Now I am paraphrasing from her book. You HAVE to read her book, realy.
She and Mom were walking on a rainy winter day through the streets, when 6year old Angelina noticed a crowd on the sidewalk. Curios, she walked closer and saw a girl about her age sitting on the bitter cold pavement, weighing people for a bit of money. The girl was clad in raggs, no shoes on her feet. Angelina imagined herself into this girl and felt what this girl felt.
The girl had homework lying on the sidewalk, getting wet and dirty, because people careless walked over her homework. AJ heard people calling the girl Princess.
When Angelina finally was in front of this girl, she asked "I heard they call you Princess?" and Princess answered " Yes they call me Princess, but I am a princess without court and castles. I am the Princess of ruins!!!"
Gina, AJ spoke to this girl in persian Farsi. She saw the hoplessness in her eyes, so she told Princess, to never give up. After Princess noticed her shoes and complimented her on these, AJ looked at Mom, Mom smiled and AJ took off her shoes for Princess. The rest is literally history.
As my friends here commented, AJ sang for a lot of charities and fund raisers. In a german fund raiser in Berlin alone she helped to raise 21 million Deutsche Mark, thats around 21 Million USD.
She gathered between 2014 and 2020 alone, including this german fund raiser around 31 Million USD. And she is still donating to help the underprivileged.

The most endearing thing about AJ, tho she's an adult now, is that the way she still talks / speaks, it reminds me of when she was that little cute adorable child on that tv show The View, where she sang 'Fly Me To The Moon '...There's a certain shyness and sweetness about her when she speaks to people which I so love..Angelina is truly a generational music genius / artist of her generation..
Did you notice the barely audible "Wow" from someone in the audience when she said that the song was going to be about why she sings barefoot? That was not me, but it could have been.😊 When she said the title, my immediate reaction was, "Huh… that's an odd title". And then she said it was about why she sings "barefeet on the stage" and it immediately hit me: "Princess" was the name she used for the little shoeless girl in her story about that encounter. (In fact, the girl also says that she lives in "ruins", but I didn't remember that at the time.) I threw my head back and said to myself, "Oh my god", having realized what was about to happen. I don't remember if the song actually made me cry or just tear up, but I'm fairly certain a tissue had come out of my pocket by the time she started the next song. (I had come prepared…)

Chris pinned a comment under this video on how to get the lyrics he put in, in case you were not aware. I sensed something with her on this song, but I know she was very excited to sing it. I was thinking we would get something new at this concert--but had no idea it would be this. I also think she is a great storyteller. When the lyrics are hers I think it is at another level. She really leaves a lot of her originals open to interpretation. I feel a lot of her EP is about her career but she writes it as if it was about an individual. I think "Love Don't Let Me Go" may have foreshadowed this in a way (singing to love and not a person). Her depth of thought just astonishes me.
I'm with you: I can hardly ever make out the lyrics to a song being sung. I'm different from you: This song was no exception. I am hearing impaired and hearing aids make birds chirp louder but don't help that much with the human voice. I know that some folks worked out the lyrics and put them as subtitles on at least one version of this performance. I don't know why Chris and crew thought it would be a good idea not to put them in this one. Oh, and good reaction. I'm just commenting for your algorithm.
The one on BigAngieFan (Chris) has the lyrics. Hit closed caption and go into settings and turn off auto translate by clicking on english without the auto translate. This is the one she used but did not cc when she played it. One must take it off auto mode to get the inserted lyrics. If you look at his pinned comment under his video I think he says this.
