I mean it's not this song but for some reason it matches with my mood. ive been suicidal since i was 11 but i'm finally at peace and for the first time i am excited for the future. something i never thought id be. i used to only see things one way. my charming, jolly, talented dad ended up drunk and homeless. my compassionate, witty mom became a single workaholic. i used to think to myself, she deserves the world and yet this was her ending? whats the point. life is cruel. but i dont see things that way anymore. i dont see things as endings. now i look at things as my dad got to know true love twice. once when he married mom and then when he had his daughters. my mom had an enchanted life in lima peru for 36 years with a big family on a kind farm. she had her chance to follow her dreams. she never thought shed get married or had kids. so i choose to see things like that now. im not afraid to try anymore. shitty things are always going to happen. i deserve to try to enjoy the good things as well.
Heard this on npr the other morning and the story about them seeing a young Muslim woman in a hijab singing this song with tears streaming down her face at one of their concerts was so moving to me. Thanks for making me teary-eyed on my way to work!
To anyone who has felt unsafe at home, this song is a reminder that you can leave, burn away the defense mechanisms you once had, and be free of that cycle. Thanks to Muna.
@@gowonsorbitch7293 It might be a reference to police reform / abolition protests. But, really, I think it’s especially poignant. It’s essentially a “disarm the police” narrative. Of someone being a part of a repressive system and then opting out of that. I think it’s still relevant.
"You think being yourself means being unworthy" that line hits me hard in the feels. I wish anyone that feels that way can some day find a place, either within themselves or amongst people who care about them, and eventually feel safe, accepted and loved 🙏
I heard this song months ago and liked it enough to bookmark it. Months later I'm back because I heard it on the credits of the Carmilla movie and realised I HAD to listen to it again. Absolutely love it
One of the very most heartbreaking songs that can ultimately lift your spirit. Dedicated to the victims of the Orlando FL Pulse shootings, may each of your souls find peace, you're all symbols of beauty that shined in the face of hatred. You will not be forgotten.
My brain told me this was a cover of an 80s song only to find it’s a new song but just that instantly memorable and classic that I thought I must have heard it before. Amazing songwriting ❤
❤❤ I'm here thanks to Netflix 's AN ASTROLOGICAL GUIDE FOR BROKEN HEARTS. My wife of 41 + years and I loved that series, now MUNA. Beautiful song! You had me at hello ! 😊
I actually thought this WAS Haim for a long time. It played on my Spotify randomly generated playlist and I added it because I liked it, and assumed it was just another good song of theirs. lol
I just want you to know how proud I am of you for creating this gorgeous song. It's an anthem. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am so grateful. Art like this is the best kind. It preaches love and acceptance and safety, and after Pulse, we need all of that. xoxo.
I really love this. The lyrics are so good. I like to imagine it's a message to me from the universe, my future self, my higherself and everyone who loves me.
I was at Harry's concert a few days ago and before that I didn't even hear about this group. I listened to them with no expectations and I was blown away by how good their songs are. Especially this one. They're seriously underrated.
Seriously, one of the best songs of the past decade. Hell, with how s#!tty mainstream radio's been for so long, I'd go so far to say this is one of the best songs of the new millennium thus far. Few songs make you wanna cry and dance at the same time and they're such a rarity.
You guys were just in my store fueling up heading to Texas. Your bus driver told me you all were asleep, and I was just shaken that you came through my little town. I wanted you to know just how much this song made me cry the first time I heard it. How your music moves me and resonates deep into my soul.
This is my absolute favorite song. And the addition of a few powerful lyrics in some live performances makes it even more moving to watch. "Even if our skin or our gods look different. i believe all human life is significant. I throw my arms open wide in resistance. He's not my leader even if he's my president"
Listen to new releases at the moment then spin back here ,, what a brilliant record ,, amazing backing vocals ,, fantastic production and uplifting lyrics,, just love it more and more as time moves on !!
I just listened to this song for the first time yesterday, i was driving, i let Spotify play random songs and this song really stuck in my head since then. I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH
This is exactly what I've needed to hear since i lost my fiancee. The depth and breath of my shame, guilt, and depression have built up my defences to the point where i pushed away all my friends and family. Maybe the healing can begin one day soon.
this song makes me feel so hopeful for the future

MUNA be like, “I know a place,” and then take you to an absolute bop

Do not despair, the hate of men will pass and dictators d.. and the power they took from the people will return to the people. Let us all unite.
Well said ❤

One of the most beautiful song I have ever listened in my life.

Do you still remember this?
When I feel sad I listen to this song and I immediately feel better. Thank you for your song, it saved me!!!!
Can't believe I've only just discovered this awesome song and band!!
This song has a Haim vibe to it. Especially the opening.
I actually thought this WAS Haim for a long time. It played on my Spotify randomly generated playlist and I added it because I liked it, and assumed it was just another good song of theirs. lol
I find vibes of Bleachers, The Cranberries and The Naked and Famous
Imagine a HAIM, Muna, The Aces, Bleachers, The 1975 collab....the collapse omfgggg
And Black Magic by Little Mix!

An astrological guide of broken hearts brought me here, and fall in love with this song right away.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This song instantly makes me think of the Pulse shootings. If only we could accept our differences and just exist side by side.
6 years later and this song is still amazing
Honestly, this song has been my jam for like the past two months! So stoked for the full album!
Thank you for inspiring me.
Love all of their lyrics. Plus, who doesn't like the sound of 80s music!

What's the meaning of the 'IA' at the end of LGBTQ?
Intersex and asexual.
I could not agree more. It hits me in all the right places. This song is amazing in every beat and every lyric.
best kind for me *
Dustin Kloeppel lgbt+ what’s the point of saying qia at the end. The plus is there for a reason.
This song still moves me.❤
I've been listening and loving this song for ages, and i just realized it has a music video

Around U needs a video please! What an amazing album ♥
My new addiction, just bought their new album on itunes
Jed Martins iTunes is lossy soundquality and files have often digital watermarks which degrades sound even more...
Jed Martins your gay right
I agree, Jonathan, that's why I love this song so much ♥
Yeah i'm gay, any problem with that?
Jed Martins I'm with you! I'm gay 2 and I love them tooooo! 😍

I really love this. The lyrics are so good. I like to imagine it's a message to me from the universe, my future self, my higherself and everyone who loves me.
