I remember my initiation into Carnatic music with Sowmya ma’am’s cassette recording, side B, first song Pashupateeshwaram in Shubhapantuvarali. I remember time standing still and just her voice filling up the room and my head. The clarity of that moment and my subsequent love for this glorious music, I attribute to SK Sowmya ma’am’s sublime mastery. My namaskarams to ma’am and heartfelt thank you for this upload.
Dr S Sowmya is a Rare blend of Innovation and Sampradaya ..a rarity indeed.. in Devagandhari , when it was flowing and filled the minds of listeners, strems of Arabhi joined there, it's like when the gorgeous Mandakini flows in the terrains of Himalayas, a couple of small streams join with Mandakini, only Mandakini flows .. was like that .. she is a spontaneous singer , no selection etc.. it flows from the beginning to end like Bhagirathi..Thanks for the upload..Always a pleasure to listen..
