MANIZHA has faced criticism since winning Russia national final earlier in March, including from some who say that her Eurovision 2021 song “isn’t Russian enough”.

Yes, I agree with you, I see Manizha's strength and talent, and alot of Russia just can't digest it yet, it is a tough one to bite into. Russia can still be very nationalistic, sexist, racist and abusive. And God forbid anyone speaks the truth, right? Manizha is a tough cookie though. I love her artistry, her purpose and her talent.

İn the end of the video there were statistics about victims of domestic violence. And fortunately, you can't read russian comments, they are so heartbreaking, everybody's sharing their own story, 😥
With this video Manizha created an app where victim can call the support center and run away. She's wonderful!

Тоже удивили нападки на Манижу по поводу "не русская женщина".....
У меня были вопросы по поводу песни...потому что Манижа очень сильный исполнитель и ей можно дать песню любой сложности и она превосходно с этим справится.
А сейчас я жду Евровидения, чтобы посмотреть на реакцию тех, кто так грязно критиковал Манижу.

Russia gets about 8000 murders per year total and 90+% them are male. And you're claiming that not only 14000 women are murdered, but murdered from domestic violence alone. Check your sources before spreading misinformation.

In Russia, a lot of people support Manizh. Just a negative opinion is always more visible, always replicated. Russia is a multinational country.
The song for the Eurovision Song Contest did not appeal to those who do not consider the image of a Russian woman as the performer presented it. She presented only a small part of women's problems, but Russian women in the mass representation are strong, tolerant, modest, do not complain. A lot of women in our country feel this way and sincerely do not understand the message of the song. Unfortunately, they perceive the meaning of the song not as freedom of choice, but as debauchery. Not as a conversation about problems in the family, but as a denigration of the image of the family in the country.
Manizha picked up the carpet that had been covered with dirt for years. It hurts. But I believe that there are enough people who are not blinded in our country.

2. Среди всех моих знакомых нет ни одного "чисто" русского человека, у всех есть по крови другие национальности просто в силу истории страны.
3. Кого-то текст и подача унизили, кого-то нет, лично я в тексте увидела одну из проблем любой женщины, не только русской, она спела о русской, так как живя в Росси, чувствуя себя русской, она испытала подобные чувства. Сваливать всё это в сторону национальности.. все мы люди в первую очередь должны быть.
4. Манижа вскрыла своей песней похоже не совсем тот гнойник, она подняла важную проблему - стереотипа, и куда более страшную - безотцовщина. Но в итоге люди показали своей реакцией, что у нас расизм процветает и национализм.. страшно это.
With all the respect, уважаемая Анна М., you must be kidding. Don't you honestly see why Manizha's image is ridiculous with this song? Yes, Russia is totally multinational, but why is Manizha dressed like American black woman and reads rap?.. Don't you see how awkward it looks for a great state like Russia to imitate American black subculture while we have so much of national minorities of our own? If Manizha had gone out there dressed like Middle Asian girl, like Tajik woman, noone would have been so devastated by her entry.

Россия - многонациональная страна!! И расизма у нас хватает в полне. Большая часть территории это национальные республики и области. Поэтому те кто говорят что Россию должен представлять человек славянской внешности - идите в жопу.
Абсолютно без разницы, кто она по национальности, просто представьте себе, что какая-нибудь условно Гагарина запоет песню про суровую жизнь женщин Таджикистана, нищету и мужей которые работают дворниками и строителями в Москве, дефицит питьевой воды и урановые отходы, про ислам и что надевать диктует данная религия женщинам.

Hey guys! I like watch ur reaction about Evrovision, and i appreciate that u pay attention on Russia, because Manizha is unique and really great! To be honest, i didnt about her before Eurovision, but I can say, that she is doing art and social protest. Im proud that she is a part of Russian culture, no matter what other people say. I reccomend to pay attention to her songs: Vanya and Akkulista. its more popular, catchy, besides lyrics have a lot of English words. Maybe it will be easier for u to understand the meaning of her creation. Good luck, guys!

I was also really shocked by all the hate of many Russians to our new ESC entry. As a Russian woman myself, I approve that Manizha represents me and tells the truth in this song. Seems like haters are afraid to embrace her message, just like you said, and finally confront the reality, 'the new normal', cause there'll be no place for them anymore.

I never watched Eurovision in the past. This Year i was bored so i decided to sit in front of tv and watch the show. When i heard manizha i was totallylike Toy. Until l today i think i saw almost all videos with her on yt. She's amazing woman, i have no words. You guys should definitely react to "inagda"- that's how the title is spelt in Russian. This song hurts me every time I listen to it. It reminds me of a terrible night seven years ago when my father tried to kill me and my mother. My mom covered me up and gave me a chance to run away and call for help. I still have nightmares. And partly I am glad that at least through this song outsiders can feel at least a part of the horror of the victim before the monster.

I want to explain a little what the flowers in the video mean. all flowers symbolize puberty. the girl notices them with armpits and tries to hide, cut them off so that no one will guess. but the father understood this and still goes to her bathroom. then we see red flowers on the leg, which also explain a new stage in the girl's life (menstruation), she touches the tree and it blooms, from that moment she can give life. The clip is striking in its power.

She is an incredible artist. And i like the thing she's not afraid to speak out about such things. Lot's of women live every day with such a pain in a silent just because they are too afraid to tell someone 'bout it. I also know a woman who came through this...
