If you're going to regularly pull spurs for power-banking it might be worth keeping some QuickTest blocks with them, save fitting plugs that'll have to come back off.
You tell the customer that the lights are really at the end of their expected life and to expect them to start failing one by one. It is up to him if he wants to replace them all to save trouble or not.

Call it 5 years. I've just put a retrofit Crompton LED tube in a 5' Crompton T12 fitting that has been in service since 1980. (41 years of service and original control gear.) After numerous years of the tube being obsolete it has only just this minute become competitive to retrofit. Let alone replace.
Tom, "Arm's Reach" was actually a big part of the 15th Ed. Regs (1981). It actually appeared in Part 2 Definitions: "A zone of accessibility to touch, extending from any point on a surface where persons usually stand or move about, to the limits which a person can reach with his hand in any direction without assistance." The reg on light fittings in rooms containing a fixed bath or shower was as follows: "471-38 In a room containing a fixed bath or shower cubicle, parts of a lampholder within a distance of 2.5m from the bath or shower cubicle shall be constructed of or shrouded in insulating material. Bayonet type (B22) lampholders shall be fitted with a protective shield complying with BS5402. As an alternative, totally enclosed luminaires may be used." The 14th Ed (1966) and even the 13th Ed (1955) had very similar regs. The shield to BS5402 (or BS52 in the 14th) was called a Home Office skirt, the same as a flared shade ring on a battenholder.
@@thomasnagy and totally with you on not using integrated fittings. Only ones I've ever fitted are floodlights, cheap under cabinet striplights or things specifically requested by the client. Battens with LED T8s and bulkheads with ES or BC but not stuff where LED failure means replacing the whole fitting

See section 1.8 of GN 7: washing machines and tumble dryers, for example, can go in zone 2 as long as they are minimum IPX4, IPX5 if subject to water jets, and MIs say is ok. A plug and socket to supply them is ok if >3m from zone 1, or by a permanent connection unit located outside zone 2. Re the fan above zone 1, I suggest you're correct, and would argue it should be minimum IPX5.
I drove past a company that was in a bucket truck fixing a street light, no signage, cones or anything else you are supposed to put out, didn't look like the guy was wearing a harness, he just had his hazard lights on, and there was only one guy in the vehicle, that's how they can do things quicker and cheaper.

One thing to watch for with power banks/inverters is to make sure that they are not "modified sine wave".
