  • Boss GT-1 Signal Chain and Assigns + Footswitches.
In this video about the Boss GT-1 Multi Effects Processor from ‪@BOSSinfoglobal‬, I'll explain and show the signal chain and the navigation through the Assigns and Footswitches of the Boss GT-1.
Knowing your way through the signal chain, and the endless possibilities of the Assigns, which can be controlled by onboard and external footswitches, will allow for easy effects switching and complex patch settings.

Hi, very nice video. How about a video about the pedal and what can be controlled with it?

      Hi Antonio,
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
What exactly did you have in mind? You mention the "pedal", but is that the CTL1, the EXP pedal or the GT-1 in general?
I would gladly make a dedicated video on that topic, no problem, just let me know some specifics.
      Looking forward to your reply.
      Have an excellent day.

@@GuitarNTabs Sorry... I meant using the expression pedal to control other parameters of the GT-1

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  3 года назад +1

      Great suggestion, Antonio!
I will definitely make a video on that, thanks for the request!
It's great because, the EXP pedal, and the Pedal Switch, can control and be set up like the Assigns, so there are a lot of options there as well!
By the way, I have a video or two in the making, on getting the EXP pedal calibrated, for smooth action, and how to set up and use the Wah Wah.
I hope to get things finished in the coming week 🤞
Once again, let me know if you need anything!
      Have an excellent weekend.

Hi great videos. I have the Boss GT 100 and want to connect my Boss RC 5 looper to it. I dont use an amp as I connect straight into my Audio interface and then to my studio monitors. Is it possible to get my looper connected so I hear clean tone and then switch tones to play over the clean tone.? I am not a young man anymore (70) and a bit slow..lol Thanks in advance. Cheers John

      Hi John,
Thank you for your comment and for the kind words - it's greatly appreciated.
The looper should be placed after the GT-100, so as the last pedal in your chain, before you run into the interface.
It's nice to know that there's a lot of different ages using the GT-100 - it's a really great unit, that's for sure.
I hope this makes sense - if not, then please let me know.
      All the best.

Hello and congratulations on your channel that I have recently been following, but I find it really interesting. I would like to know how it is possible to use other external BOSS pedals (such as CE-2) and put them in chain or it is necessary to use for example a BOSS LS-2.
    Thanks again.
    Antonio

      Hi there, Antonio,
Thanks for following, and for enjoying my content - that's greatly appreciated.
Since the GT-1 doesn't have an Effects Loop it's hard to place external pedals properly with the GT-1.. I've had good results using overdrives before the GT-1 input, but modulation, delay and reverb effects would be another thing... If you place your CE-2 after the GT-1 you will have all the GT-1 effects running into it, and that's not always a great solution.. You can try it out, but I'm almost sure you won't get the full potential of the CE-2... I'm not that familiar with the LS-2, but it might be an option, depending on how it can be set up.
      I hope this helps, Antonio.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
      All the best.

Hey man, I got a question,Is it worth changing the UP and DOWN buttons to other functions? I mean,if you want to switch patches ,it kinda limits you right? unless you assign the switching buttons to something different,or I just need to maybe get an external footswitch. Thank you in advance!

    • @GuitarNTabs

      Hi there, Yossi.
Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it.
It depends, really. If you'd like to use the GT-1 as a "stompbox" pedalboard, then you could change the function of the UP and DOWN footswitches, and maybe add in an external footswitch for other things, for example go up through patches.
The external footswitch is always a great addition, it will allow you to do other things, like more Assigns, etc.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

what the output level should be ? can it be different for every patches?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  Год назад

      Hi,
The Master Output could be set to whatever you want, it's a global setting, so you just set it once. It usually keep mine between 70 and 100.
In regards to keeping your patch levels even, you should set a target level and reference all remaining effects to that, using the effects' dedicated level parameter. Some will tell you to use the Patch Level knob, but that's not a proper way, because the Patch Level parameter will raise/lower the entire patch, and not take each individual effect into account.
      I hope this helps
      Best regards.

First of all, Thankyou for doing these videos...however, I seem to come away with more questions than answers. I am a complete newbie, never used any type of processor before with acoustic guitar. Just started electric and now gt1. I find that while you do explain what everything does, you don't explain how it relates and why. I suppose I am in the minority here in that most others already have a foundation of experience with things such as signal chains, assigns etc. I would like you to go right back to the basics and pretend that the person knows nothing and have never seen one of these before. For example: Why do I need an assign? What does that do? Why do I need an external foot switch. Show examples. If you sound like this and want to sound like that, then do this.... Explain the signal chain, what each component does and how it relates to the sound...anyways, thx again, this is just a friendly critique/suggestion. Take it for what its worth

I'm sorry to hear that. If you have questions, then please let me know, and I'd be happy to help you out.
Hmm, I kind of thought these newer and updated videos were going more in-depth, trying to explain things better and further, but I'm sorry if that didn't get across...
