Chael promised his father he would be a champion. He fought like a champion and for all intents and purposes was and is a champion, regardless of a belt or not. Chael commentated my fight at the Roseland in 2006, for anyone interested check it out on my channel. Chael is a super solid dude.

He attempted it in the UFC and in WEC without having success, and unfortunately his unsuccessful last attempt was in Belator 222.
