When I say a deck can compete with the meta, I basically mean the deck can top tournaments, even if it can't do it consistently. We don't have them right now, but historically speaking I've used that phrase to talk about decks that can get Regional Top 8's but not much else. Your interpretation seems to be more along the lines of saying that Sacred Beasts can beat meta decks some of the time, which I absolutely agree with :) Hope this helped!

You can also dump any continuous spell in the game for the curious play, so folks can feel free to tutor whatever floodgates or combo pieces imaginable with this play, including Summoners Curse, Deck Lockdown, Zoodiac Barrage for a funny hybrid meme build, D-Fissure ect

As far as awakening set ups go, I don't think it's too hard to get two sacred beasts on the field and the deck has linear combos to do so. Its just that only the best of hands can do that AND search awakening. If we had a way of searching it through the linear combo, it might actually be a formidable set up

In mtg however there are top tier decks that supposedly only one player can play properly and loads of other hard to play top tier and tier 0 like uber op decks. Think it needs to be a category of its own. Ss tier uber difficult to play but op.

Duuuude this seems so legit. I'm trying to figure out a way to make something similar work for the egyptian gods and maybe include the wicked gods or the sacred beasts. Double tributers and God slime. Plus ra sphere mode to use as a hand trap type situation along with niberu. I'm thinking spellcasters might work. Vintage player come back. Thinking xyz and the other modern mechanics might finally make the gods useful along with the modern support. Also if spell casters works I have a trap card that's not banned that could essentially set the deck up to have very few monsters left and then just recycle the grave yard endlessly by shuffling it back into the deck. Also some hilarious ra strats for life point gains. And via other monsters to boost my monsters on the field by like 30k attack points while halfing most other monsters on the field, and sith ra essentially gain the attack back to life points. Trying to make it work with a 60 card deck to help prevent slightly against mill deck strats. Also thinking of using slifer for cheese. Reduce monsters life points. Force a summon on their side of the field in attack position. Reduce everything to zero and field wipe for direct attacks. Use the gods and God slime to help with level 10 xyz and other modern mechanics boss types. I wish 80 card deck max still existed cause then I could probably run all 3 and reduce them to part of a single strat or a final board combo of some sort or useful steps to final board set up but also have them for random other situations and still keep enough alternate set up pieces in play. With some un used equipped cards I can make ra pretty evil too. Attacks twice per battle phase and can attack directly and have as much as 30 to 40k attack. 7900 potential max and then 2 doubling effects. And double summon. 4 special summons 1 egyptian god slime maybe 2 or 3 or similar situations and can use double summon to normal summon 2 gods in one turn and avoid niberu trigger. And potentially have more monsters left for xyz summons including a 10 star God slime 2 gods and another random, while having monsters that avoid niberu. With modern gy and banish effects should be possible to also ban your not necessary cards anymore to thin the deck. Combined with some in the essence of endymion recycling spells and localized tornado and building your board and hand for slifer you can make late game consistency high. Early game is the only issue. With say 3 to 6 or even 9 gods aside from sphere mode and Phoenix mode you also have enough potential with the right engine to ensure some level of consistency in getting a big guy out. Spellcasters and gods would work with the sacred beasts decently well. And if you picked out the best you can thin the deck slightly for better consistency. Thinking for my deck maybe 2 of the wicked gods all the egyptian gods and 1 or 2 of the sacred beasts with dupes for the more modern consistency and support and synergy. Same concept for exodia. Use all the exodia support even some of the bad stuff. Necross and all 5 pieces plus some of the other boss monsters and such. In the right deck say a kuriboh deck or Spell casters it could work. And win condition doesn't even have to be exodia, just potential win cons. Could also be used with the gods maybe for a trickery based deck. Distract them with exodia thinking exodia deck or necross deck when it's more God based and using them as materials or for cheese combos based around some already meta engine reconstructed for a different set of win cons and combos.
Hi I did a deck profile on sacred beasts a while back I would maybe suggest instead of jester confit apprentice illusion magician she can special summon aswell and being able to dump your summoning beasts into the graveyard aswell as being a target for souls reducing your bricking chance on the second dm just a suggestion
