Last time I was there was around 1996, it didn’t look like this, things were open, extortionate rents and rates, online shopping, out of town retail has killed off the town centres
It’s not all like this one thing you guys have to understand is that this channel shows the bad sides of the towns they go to but never the good parts, that’s what the channel dedicated for and you will agree with me that most cities in the Uk have these areas.
I had to stay there for business a few years back. It was shocking. I’ve never seen a place where even the corner shops, the Chinese takeaways and even the petrol stations were boarded up. My hotel was full of Eastern European lads who appeared to be working on the roads or the railways. Never again.
Its alot better now you should not make such quick judgments on areas you do not live. Many of these in the video are boarded up because they are being done up to open soon.
@@rogermoore-gd9do what do you mean ‘quick judgements’? I was there and witnessed lots of boarded up properties and signs of general decay. That was not a quick judgement but an assessment after using my own eyes.
@@rogermoore-gd9do you may well be right, but this video was about Stoke, and I mentioned my experiences of staying in Stoke. It would have looked a bit odd if I would have mentioned Anlaby Road in Hull in the comments section of a video about Stoke don’t you think?

@@issimondias You can say the same about Derby , Nottingham, Wolverhampton etc if you get out and about you will see the same.

@@issimondias Tell me of a post industrial city in the UK that is any different? You may live in a lovely little village but its how these places are.
This guy clearly hates Stoke many of these buildings are in the process of being reopened but of course he does not want to tell people this.
