In a way sounds even more so like vintage ELO.... sounds like a track from the more electronic Time album. I like it. I love the original version but its crying out for strings.... it would make a good song a masterpiece.... the strings are so sorely missed.

This remix is absolutely brilliant!!!!! I love vintage ELO with their late 70's Louis Clark strings and Richard Tandy keyboards which I've been missing in all of Jeff Lynne's ELO music since. From his last album and this new single I always felt these songs are just muddy demos. Which is why I feel your remix is BETTER then the original!!! Would love to hear more remixes from Alone in the Universe or my personal favourite Latitude 88 North which, unfortunately had the strings buried in the mix and want to hear them shine with more "Out of the Blue" keyboards since it was an outtake from that album. Thanks so much for making my day Eniac!!!!!
This adds to the original massively. Remix the entire album in this style when it's released, chuck it on Bandcamp and I'll buy it (and maybe a few million others). Not sure JL would go for it though...

However, then this work of art comes along and blows you away! Clever work my man it's a piece of genius with the original very much in evidence but just the right level of tweeking and twiddling!

So many folk have been complaining about the "flatness" of ELO's sound over the past several albums (e.g., Long Wave, Alone in the Universe, and the redone oldies), which makes me wonder, if Jeff's hearing just isn't what it used to be.
1. its a natural thing that when u get old u lost hearing the high frequencies and it can be hurt if there is too much of it. 2. maybe something is not right in the studio, maybe a eq master on the monitor speakers 3. maybe its his philosophy to produced like that because of the overproduction and the "loudness war" mastering. 4. after listening to his music several times, the ear gets used to it and you can hear the brilliancy - maybe he really wants it that way.
ENIAC It’s possible. Jeff marches to the beat of his own drum -literally! - and I wouldn’t be surprised, if the organic sound of his home studio is what he truly desires.
To be honest it sounds much better than the original version. You mixed in what I have been missing in the newer elo sound... Very good... Keep the remixes coming! :-)

Really? Put real drums and instruments on these if you are going to copy them. Don't just bring the lead vocal to the front with more echo, it's just not right. usafpilot just heard an interview with Jeff on BBC2. He likes to spend the day in the studio messing around with compressors. :).
From out of Eniac, I am not that keen on the origional, but this is superb, keep em comin .....
