Do you know where I can find a H.E. Leman .30 precussion cap rifle with an octagon barrel? Manufactured from 1842-45. Not a restoration an orginal. Any Ideas?
It would be cool to see a body armor test against some of the older AP rounds, like the WW1 8x57 smk for example, to see how they compete against modern armor
It would probably be just as effective as modern AP rounds. You really just have to put a piece of hardened steel or tungsten in a projectile and you're good to go. Drill a hole in a 10 gauge slug, epoxy a piece of a drill shaft into it and you got yourself a very potent AP round.
Check out InRange TV, if I remember correctly, Ian and Karl tested 8x57 and 7.62x54R explosive rounds against armor. Sure, explosive != AP, but you get the idea.
I think the table being stood upright by the cannon, and the following reaction from Eric and Chad is my favorite moment from this entire channel lmao.
I build catapults. I have one that has the same power as your cannon. I have been talking in groups about what a catapult impact would do to plate armor. We don't have the speed to shatter it like that, but I knew it would drive the armor right through a body.
Apparently, I'm one of the few that he was going to test modern Spartan Armor plates. And when I saw the Martini I thought of the old movie "Zulu" in Michael Caine's first movie.

Marines use the 37 mm round during the battle of guadalcanal " But a Japanese counterattack was already in the making. Shortly after midnight on Aug. 19, 917 soldiers of Col. Kiyonao Ichiki’s 28th Infantry Regiment landed 22 miles east of Henderson Field and began the westward trek toward the mouth of the Lunga. Tipped-off that a Japanese force was approaching, the Marines were ready behind defensive positions just west of Henderson Field near the mouth of the Ilu River, which they nicknamed Alligator Creek. Two battalions of the 1st Marine Regiment were waiting when Col. Ichiki’s detachment reached their positions shortly after midnight on Aug. 21. Zyzor it would probably just go straight through, leaving a hole the width of the bullet, since it’s meant to penetrate very, very thick metal. The body armor is just maybe 5-10 mm thick.
Lame question here but, with the heavy mass of these bullets (hypothetically speaking) could we defeat the purpose of body armor by way of energy transfer instead of penetrating power? Overwhelming the design of a trauma pad for instance…

The cannon shot looks like a magic trick. One moment there is a gel body and a table on its side, the next - a table right side up and no body :D
Seth Rogen if he was born in the South
Cole Copeland - that’s damn hiliarious xddd
Cole Copeland don’t insult this man like that
You should be using it at 30-80 meters to get that 1 shot kill
the production quality of this channel is much better than I would expect from a channel named "iraqveteran8888"
Great test! Greetings from Poland! 😊
The sound in your voice when the table stood up was hilarious 😂
I’d love to see a 20mm Anti-aircraft round against the plate
Zyzor it would probably just go straight through, leaving a hole the width of the bullet, since it’s meant to penetrate very, very thick metal. The body armor is just maybe 5-10 mm thick.
Damn, Martini-Henry is in Battlefield 1 !!
ForCookiesSub no its from around world war 1 but I guess 100 years isn't to far off?
Reid Woodman that was literally exactly 100 years ago.
ForCookiesSub yeah the rank 10 scout primary with a 1 bullet mag
Now it sucks 😞
Eric,
This was one of the most enjoyable videos i have watched in weeks. Thanks for the entertainment.
This is Thrand, awesome video!
But what about Spartan 2 armor?
Lame question here but, with the heavy mass of these bullets (hypothetically speaking) could we defeat the purpose of body armor by way of energy transfer instead of penetrating power? Overwhelming the design of a trauma pad for instance…
i think he meant Spartan as the company that makes the armour
No shit
Thank you to all of our heroes of the military dead, or alive, active or retired
The fact that it stopped the cannon round is impressive, if you look at the plate the cannon round did not pass through it just detonated the plate.
the devs gotta nerf dat armor
