great vid, total delight! Armageddon's sole LP is my fave heavy rock album from the 70s. everything you say about it is totally accurate! Bobby Caldwell's probably my fave drummer, along with billy cobham and mitch mitchell. and those lyrics! that album stands alone, and it's not even ahead of its time, it belongs to another dimension entirely (actually, i think it sounds like a mixture of zeppelin, yes and captain beyond, and probably the mahavishnu orchestra in its wildest moments)... Stray Dog's also outstanding, especially after a couple of bong hits, superb jams come guitar solo time, the three band members are on fire... other 'rare' stuff form the 70s that i love: captain beyond's debut (of course), guru guru's 'kanguru', silberbart's '4 times sound razing', haze's 'hazecolor-dia', mahogany rush's 'iv', out of focus' 'wake up', steve hillage's 'fish rising', randy holden's 'population ii', flower travellin' band's 'satori', the human beast's 'volume one', claudio gabis y la pesada s/t, neconomicon's 'tips zum selbstmord', hairy chapter's 'can't get through', el ritual s/t, death's 'for the whole world to see', fraction's 'moon blood', neil merryweather's 'space rangers', november's '6:a', bang's debut, high tide's 'sea shanties', leño's debut... list goes on and on, of course... and let's raise a glass for a way underrated band: Atomic Rooster! cheers!
Yeah, you've nailed it with your Armageddon comparisons, and some great suggestions for other undervalued 70s hard rock. I might have to nick one or two of those for my next video on this theme.
Another FANTASTIC video. I really appreciate and enjoy the indepth reviews you provide on each record. Yet again you provide me with some mouth watering albums missing from my collection......the hunt begins. PLEASE more of the same.....1968 to 1975, hard rock / prog / space what a golden era. Thanks for sharing, already looking forward to your next video. Cheers
Hadn't considered that before, but you're right. I guess the heavier nature of the music made me think more of Uriah Heep's harmonies. Always a sucker for a sweet vocal harmony whoever's delivering it!
Another great selection, it's a real shame that Adrian Gurvitz doesn't get the recognition he deserves, I love all the bands he was in, you can't mistake the tone of his guitar.
Oh yeah! Now you’re speaking my language! I absolutely dig the 70’s hard rock post psych era of heaviness! I have quite a few LPs from that era but there are a few here that I def want! I love Polecat Woman by 3MA! That was one of my best find of 2021! The cover art is magnetic Just a cool look! Still working to lay hands on 3MA Third of a Lifetime! That Armageddon LP was one of the first records I picked up about 6 years ago when I first started collecting vinyl again and you are right It’s stellar! That opening track Buzzard just grabs you and doesn’t let go! Cover art is what drew me to it Total blind buy! Please show more of this era! Thanks so much for the shout out! I love your channel and you have an amazing taste in music and your descriptions are always spot on! I’ve bought several LPs after seeing you show them in your videos! This was great! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️
Thanks Brian. Love your channel too. The way you talk about your records, your love of the music really comes through. I'll definitely be showing more of these 1970s knuckle draggers. And Power Pop. And Psych. And Prog. And Metal. And..... ☮️
yes! back to thunder! i love it. there's a vinyl reissue, was released by shadow kingdom records. and it's quite a beautiful edition, if you care to check it out sometime. cheers
Oh man, again a bunch of very interesting records. I guess I need to reload my wallet and go on a vinyl hunt. I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers, because this is one of the most interesting channels in VC. Albums off the mainstream to discover. Thanks for that from Northern Germany. By the way, I heard that you like Uriah Heep. Their new album "Chaos & Colors" was released on last Friday. I think you'll like it, it's an absolute killer album.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, that occured to me too, but apart from the song title there are no similarities that I can hear. The track is credited to Curtis on the Three Man Army LP too, so definitely not them covering someone else's tune. I'll keep on racking my brain...
You know your music fun watch. Thank you!

I remember my old man's record collection with Boomerang in it. Never heard it but now wish I had
You missed out. Your dad had great taste!

Thanks Cliff. More of the same coming soon!
Shotgun LTD has a real Crosby, Stills, and Nash vibe with those harmonies

I was not familiar with most of these. I listened to all of them and Boomerang and Three Man Army are amazing albums. Thanks man.
My pleasure.

Hugely Underrated!
Hopefully there'll be a part 2?
And a part 3 sometime...

I like to discover new classic bands thanks. You like Strife? I found recently my favorite is the second album.
Love Strife! I talked about them in an earlier video, forget which one. Much underrated band.

I'm watching right now Stunt Rock movie is very interesting thank you for recommendation.👍

Like Heep? Is it that obvious? I'll definitely be checking out the new LP.
If you see a copy of The Pilgrims, Spooky Time grab it. It's a Japanese band, from early 70s, but it's a smoker and I've never seen anyone post it. 👍
Space Is The place - by Sun Ra maybe?
