- This past summer, my (now) wife and I headed to Alaska to embark and an incredible wedding adventure. We eloped via helicopter and were married on a glacier in Alaska - Colony Glacier, to be exact. With our cottage located just outside of Anchorage, the helicopter picked us up basically in our front yard. From there, we were whisked away to glacial landscapes, flowery meadows, and windy peaks.
With the pandemic still in full swing and a passion for travel and adventure, we decided to elope. It was just us, our pilot, and our vendors. We flew around all day holding our intimate ceremony, seeking out new photo locations, and capturing our story in the process.
We had a small picnic for lunch and our “wedding cake” were cupcakes in a jar!
This is the full version of our wedding film in stunning 4K.
After eloping, we spent the next two weeks honeymooning around the Kenai peninsula where we rode jet skis, white water rafted, hiked, and went bear viewing.

I love love love your elopement 😍😍😍. Me and my fiancé are actually planning to elope in Alaska last week of October. I have a few questions if you don’t mind. For helicopter ride. How many people can come with you? Do you have both videographer and photographer with you?
Happy to help! The helicopters are available in different sizes. Ours fit 5 including the pilot. Yes, we had both our photographer and videographer come, and that was five including the pilot.
There are larger helicopters but it’s going to cost you. Additionally, if you want more people “at your wedding” but not necessarily along for the ride at the same time, the helicopter can make multiple trips to get everyone out to the location, but there’s a cost for time.
Joe at Chugach Peaks Photography (check the video description) will literally answer any question you have. He’s very experienced in organizing these elopements - not just taking photos. Contact him, and he will get everything sorted out for you. The sooner the better, of course!
