I was there😀🇺🇸! These cars are the fastest original cars on the planet 🌏 . When they fire them up the ground shakes! Long live these iconic Muscle cars! SS/AH😀🇺🇸
If Herb had those tires and wheelie bars in 68, he'd give these cars a run for their money. At Indy back in 68 there were a slew of them running. We had one set of points and switch the other points on for advance on our Hemi.
now that they Allow front steering like the Rack and Pinion style , how many cars have switched to Front Steer? and I am pretty sure they rev slightly higher then 7,500 R.P.M.
How much horsepower do these modified hemis have? As I recall, the original 426 hemi was advertised at about 425 horsepower - but was underrated for insurance purposes and was more like 500 horsepower or more. These current cars must be 2 or 3 times that much horsepower to run 8s and 160+ ??? So what mods have been made to do that?
Race tracks close due to lack of interest. Well, dragracing moved away from it's origin. Admissions are usually paid by people who enjoy what they can relate to. How many can relate to top-fuel racing? Go guys, keep it lit. By the people for the people!
Long runoff area means they don't need the parachute to stop even though their capable speed requires it to be installed. There are tracks that they use them.
15k for a win? I'm guessing one engine cost more than that. Do they even make enough to break even? I worked with a guy who went to the nationals in one of the lower classes. He won and did not make enough to pay for his travel expenses.
Of course they’re better than pro stock. We watched them to see real cars race. Pro stocks should not be allowed to use the word stock and the funny cars should not be called cars.
The Brand X camps cried so much about them being so much faster, several years back NHRA gave them their own class, because there's no competition but their own kind, Hemi vs. Hemi!

3200 lbs and 900+ HP.
so that's kind of like dropping two 426 hemis into a Dodge Dart like my first car - a 1966 Dodge Dart Gt@@brucesumner6993

I see parachutes on cars but don't see them being used ???

makes sense, so does each track get to decide to enforce the rule or not?@@brucesumner6993
