Interviewing the kid who got the ball on the onside kick he said, "Right before I went on the field, Coach told me the guy I was opposite would turn around to cover the kick so I should keep my eye on the ball," and damn if that's just what happened. Saban knew the kids on the other team well enough to know that and coached his player up special seconds before the play. I remember that onside against Clemson in the national championship, the kid said they had been practicing that play since August. Nobody prepped like Saban, and that's why he was such a consistent winner. Alabama beat my team too often and I can't stand them, but hats off for Saban.
Bottom line is, SAS embellished his college career. He should be called out. Whitlock on occasion hits at the heart of truth and it’s difficult to accept.
