Seeing Njoi back in the day made me want to do what they did - and now I do. I can't stress enough how hearing Live In Manchester changed my life. I owe these guys a pint.

IMO and I’m sure many other Njoi music is timeless!! I’ve listened to live in mcr probably over a thousand times, nice interview, just shared with a couple of my mates who will appreciate, cheers all 3 of you, gave me a upbeat start to my day!!
Went to the Technodrome in 91 and watched them,also liked Adamski and later Ultrasonic 👍🏴

Just found this! Huge fan of Njoi. They're a massive influence on my music, which is strictly 1989-1992 style live techni rave. Matt Jarrett's dancing was phenomenal!
a big thing for me & my mates back in 90's at raves was N-Joi plus dancer Matt Jarrett long hair & glasses but no mention of him. Saffron is mentioned but she wasn't on Anthem. Anthem was samples. Saffron fronted live shows. N-Joi was Nigel, Mark & Matt Jarrett.

Can’t believe Nigel’s brother was the manager for the prodigy for 20 years especially when these 2 bands were the kings at that time before 93 it was N’Joi then the prodigy stole the crown as the best live Pa. N’Joi always my favourite in the real rave years of 90/93. 🕊️✌️🕊️

Inside Out is my fave Electronic album and would take something extremely special to beat it, to me it’s Pure Perfection
The best as far as I'm concerned had live in Manchester on tape in the early 90's & up there with the early 90's prodigy #1

I have the Live at the Astoria video which I recorded off of Dance Daze on TV. Techno Gangsters, Century Gangsters, etc. Absolutely shit-hot. Kickin'!

@@samanthataylor5444 Of the two dancers, I thought that the guy in black and white was superb. So much so that I used to replay, pause, play more, pause, until I had his moves memorised and then developed my own style from it. The little guy in black and yellow was trying hard, but did not look as cool.
been a fan of n-joi tunes since the early 90s. the first tune i heard was Adrenalin. At the time, i had never heard a vibe like that in all my life. i was like holy shit , what is this stuff. The n-joi live in Manchester tape used to get some hammer in my car too. i still blast many of their tunes in a mix set when i do my radio streams.

Best party’s when N-joi headlined the raves.. 100% I always thought live in Manchester was an album..
I can remember seeing them on a VHS video tape I think it was Dance Energy or something and told my friend who then turn up a few months down the line with the Anthem one side and if I can remember right was manic and techno gangster on the other side he said what about these guys NJO1 I started pissing myself I said its N-JOI I then made sure I had to see them and did first time at Technodrome in Ayrshire Scotland and made sure I never missed them any venues in Scotland.
There music was a big part of the Scottish Dance Scene ... Awesome

100% 'Live In Manchester' should have been their first album. We did want studio versions of those tracks (and still do).
Their second album should have been the 93-stuff Drumstruck / Strength / Live at Spasms - faster more breakbeat style.
And then 'Inside Out' should have been their 3rd album. Tagging 'Anthem' on the end of that always felt so out of place. That is a great album.
I wish you asked what specific keyboards they were using for the classic n-joi sounds.
Any idea what the main keyboards were?

@@minisynthcollective7822 I've seen them using those synths on the live videos but i've never seen any interview where they confirm the actual kit used in all their early tracks. Any idea what the synths used for the main leads in adrenalin and mindflux? Mindflux sounds like it could be an alpha juno maybe?
@@matski7690 Prophet 600 they had. Also most sounds were from Juno 60. Had a 303 , akai sampler. 2 x mpc 60. 909 , 808. That was about it mate. they are just talented.
Who was the male dancer? Remember see them many time largest gig Rave was Living Dream June 1991.

Was live in Manchester actually recorded at a venue or was it just studio based. Never been able to verify whether it was actually recorded at a club/ rave , does anyone know????.
