I want Monique to have her own YT channel where she goes around to ballet companies and coaches because I am hooked! She has a beautiful way of positively critiquing and her corrections are spot on. The Prix is truly something special for these lucky dancers to experience. Absolutely loving this!

OMG thank you so much for taking the feedback about talk while Monique is talking. Not to say that I don't I love the hosts comments-I do! But it's so great to hear Monique's full comments! Such a rare opportunity to witness such an imparting of wisdom to a young dancer.

Monique Loudières is so impressive. Incredible how she sees everything, picks up on all the details and reads bodies like books :)

Monique Loudières es maravillosa. Sería estupendo que le dieran más tiempo para su labor, porque es un placer ver cómo corrige, aconseja y pule a cada bailarina.

There seems to be constant pressure on both students and teachers when it comes to time. I understand there is limit to it but then either plan more or accept fewer students. Because i can see how stressed are teachers who need to watch about 15 people in a row and then try to give all the info and advice to every each and one of them while there is someone constantly sticking out the head out of the curtains hurrying them. What good will it do to anyone? Just stressing everyone out.

exactly ...also I noticed that the teachers are so much more relaxed and taking their time with the first one two...and after have to speed up...

I believe it is how it works( time constraints)in a real life.

I agree but, these variations show off all the possible imperfections in pure Classical style. If the individual ballet teachers around the world created their own choreography, which might or might NOT show off imperfections, then this might mean wasting the judges time at World Competitions. From Canada

The list of acceptable variations for this year is pretty extensive - I just took a look. Granted I'm just an old ballet nerd and nobody cares if I get bored watching a million Talisamans on RUclips, but I would think they'd benefit by trying to choose something that isn't being done by everyone else.

While I really love and respect Nicolas Le Riche's (sp?) knowledge and experience as a coach, I was surprised that he didn't mention the first boy stepping back on demi-pointe for his last diagonal to the tour a la seconde jump. He has a tendency to not put his heels down in general. Very fine dancer, though, beautiful turns!

I've been watching for years and always wonder why so many dancers choose the same variations. Wouldn't they stand out better by doing something different from the rest? If I get tired of seeing Talisman and Flora I can only imagine how the judges feel!

They get some variations to choose from, but not many.

@@juchlu3081 Really? I thought the list was pretty extensive - seems like every year there are a few that are just "in the water." One year it was all Coppelia, one year all the same Paquita variation. The one girl here who did Cupid was a breath of fresh air!

I wonder the same - this year at least we have Flora and Talisman. Last year it was just Talisman and the year before just Flora. I’ve noticed this happens more for the A girls - the B girls have a little bit more variety, or at least you’ll have a good mix of Esmeralda, Dryad Queen, and Paquita Étoile.
