Whoever belonged to that spur was no poor farmer, it would have had to belong to a fairly well to do person, you can almost imagine the rest of the riders garments and flashy bits. A very cool find, and I dont believe a common one! Well done, I did like Si's find but your spur won the day! Cheers Mate!

Another muddy episode from Norfolk. Really nice spur. Unusual to see it engraved. Likely military C17/18 but wouldn't be surprised if its Civil War period. I got a similarly engraved silver disc mount off my Civil War site a couple of months ago👍 New fields look promising 👌
Yes was a surprise mate. Found many plain bits and discounted this on first look to be the same.
@@FoundInTheGroundFITG Easy to miss when a find is covered in mud and slime. Done it a few times myself down here in the Cambridgeshire clay🤦♀️ One to treasure, you'll probs never find another one. But suggests there's a lot more to be found. Excited to see what comes up in the future 🙂
It's many thousands of acres to explore but has been detected before. Just need to get my head around it all
