What if Curtis Connor's lizard form (from the 2012 Spider-Man movie) was a real animal? Maybe, in my opinion, it would be called the "Connor's lizard" and be a close relative of tegus of South America, hence why his species exists in North America. Maybe it could have evolved a more efficient metabolism compared with its southern relatives, as well as developing gigantothermy, to deal with the cooler weather and harsher conditions. This species is capable of losing its tail out of self-defense and regrow it like some other types of lizards. Compared with its southern cousins, the Connor's lizard has higher intelligence and a shortened, yet powerful jaw, giving it a more humanoid appearance. Sadly, this species would be endangered due to habitat loss and persecution, being mistaken for a mutated human or a supernatural monster from local legends. Longicauda imitatio, also known as the mimic cat officially, and as the "tailypo" by people in regions such as the Appalachia after the events of the 1900 death of Amos Brown, but we'll cross that bridge when get there. The species are members of the felidae species native to north America, mostly the Appalachian region eith minor sightings in New England. They possess a unmatched knack for mimicry which has been displayed in other felines such as domestic cats or lions, but never to the the extent of mimic cats. Alongside mimicry, the species possess incredible intelligence able to lure and ambush prey or predators, some of which even larger than themselves. Additionally, they're one of few animals smart enough to understand the concept of revenge. The most notable example being mentioned above when Amos Brown shot the tail off a mimic cat after mistaking it for another creature. Due to the fact he was staying in a cabin miles from any settlements with only his 3 dogs for conpany the mimic cat managed to sneak into the cabin and even lure out snd and kill Mr. Brown's dogs before killing Brown himself and tearing what remained of it's tail out of his stomach.
