Bones Mark 41 was a testing for the mark 42 prehensile function. So yeah most suits probably had the "bones" skeleton underneath, then when Tony manufactured the Mark 41 with the underlining skeleton with the prehensile test he designated it as such.
This is extremely kuul! Something like this, deserves to be displayed all by itself and not surrounded by other figures. It's so intricate and highly detailed! I imagine this figure in my office or at home in the main living room. Great review Justin!
this is a very nicely engineered figure and he looks great with all of those lights on. He's not for me but a very cool figure.Too bad they didn't engineer it that the USB plugged into the base. With all of that real estate that base takes up they could have put in a AAA compartment and/or added a power cable.
This is definitely for me. Iron Man is my all time favorite superhero. This actually makes me want Hot Toys to make a 2.0 version of the Mark 42 and other Iron Man 3 suits in diecast. I have the Mark 21 diecast and I’d really like Hot Toys to make Mark 17, Mark 24, Mark 27 and Mark 40. At least enough figures to create an Iron Man 3 diorama. Haven’t started saving yet but I am definitely going to buy this one! Justin thank you again for uploading. I also want you to know that I really still grieve over my Grandmother because she was an Iron Man fan as well. Your videos really help with that grief.
Looking at the film the mark 33 uses the mark 42 endoskeletion which is drasticlly different to the 41, personally I think the scene where he suits up in the 33 was made before the mark 41 model was finished because When tony gets in the mark 16 and 40 it has the mark 41 as the endoskeleton with the black and gold color pallet, also when the mark 22 & 15 open up it also uses the 41. canonically it would 100% be the mark 41 under the 33 which is why the hottoys figure most likely used it. Edit: Another canonical reason is the house party portocall suits might have been built out of succession my logic as to this is, when the 42 is going in the vault you can see the mk 33,17,and 39 are finished but the mark 25 is missing its lower legs and one of its arms are dissconnected. "I would have perfered if it was a suit up of the mark 16 as it's a unqine suit we havent got from hot toys yet."
Pretty cool figure honestly, great if you like museum poses which I don't mind, with all those panels it seems kind stiff. Between the 2 I'd probably pick the suit up version, those details are hard to pass up, at least for me. Also, yes Justin, for the amount of cash they ask for this guy a better base could have been provided.
Honestly, i'm curious about if they'll actually finish House Party Protocol. At this point i think they got all of the unique parts down, all they need to do is just mix and match to complete the rest of the 35 Marks from the end of the movie. But this is a really particular release. An unusual one, for sure.
This is definitely a very unique and specific piece by HT. the paint sculpt work, panel lining, interior design elements the LED’s all make for a beautiful and unique figure. However this is a museum pose piece albeit with interchangeable pieces. You could argue HT are using this piece as an experimental piece to test the water with LED and USB functionality. I agree that to be more functional the base should be smaller and house all the functions to allow for the LED light ups. Having only recently started collecting Iron Man figures (Mark 47, Mark 50 and Mark 85 BD) although I think he looks stunning it’s just not for me, I’m drawn more to the Mark V, the upcoming Mark VI Mark VII and the Mark XLVI Concept and Civil War variants.

i am Definitely concerning picking this guy up, im a massive fan of very detailed figures and this is no exception, i would love to have this figure fully opened on my desk as simply a display peice and considering there arnt many iron man figures in this manner im definitely hooked on this design.

This is an interesting concept but I’d much rather get a diecast Silver Centurion as I like the suit but not the suit up concept. Also, I believe it has bones underneath because he was wearing Bones during the final battle when Centurion attached to him so he’s basically wearing a double suit.
Personally, I have enough fully armored iron man. It is a breath of fresh air to have something different on display. I may be in the minority but to answer your question I’d rather have a suit up version rather than a fully suit up. Besides Hot Toys will continue hacking away at this license.

It’s disappointing how inaccurate this figure is to the armor That’s not how the armor closes up in the movie, it doesn’t open every flap They used the Mark XLI to simulate the mechanical under structure, which is inaccurate Yes, the Mark XLI is supposed to be an armor without much plating, but that doesn’t make it the standard under structure for Iron Man armors, specially considering it can divide into modular pieces

I think this is for the Asian market and Iron Man fanatics in general. I admire that they took the effort to try something new, different and innovative in terms of manufacturing and engineering. Is this a must have? I don't think so, at least for me who has like thirty plus figures with nowhere to display them. There are so many different franchises out there that deserve to be immortalized in plastic and diecast, it's about time they stopped releasing new Iron Man's in favor of something more unique and anticipated. If they do a re-release, I would like them to make a T-800 2.0, or a new predator. Like you said, this figure is for the hard-core diehard Iron Man aficionado.
Not sure if we can specifically name one culture as the only one that likes iron man. There are plenty of folks globally who love iron man too don't forget
