  • We take the sea harvester out for a spin! This has been a really neat project. The customer came to us with a beautifully setup Radon fishing machine that just wasn't served well by the outdrive. To make sure this boat could work as a solid platform we lengthened the hull and swapped in a V-Drive. With a Much Bigger prop she will easily be much more capable of handling the swing loads. The QSB 425HP will be able to do what it was meant to do, grab some serious water and move this boat loaded or not!

Tony is known as God around town when it comes to this stuff. I'll be having him repower my Radon 27 when the time comes.

That kind of fuel consumption is associated with "450 hp" at 2000 rpm producing 20 TONS of ACTUAL "tractive force" in a farm tractor that weighs 20 tons alone.

Nice work, but I don't understand why, if you are going to have a permanent swim platform, that you didn't extend the lower half of the transom and give yourself another 1.5 of hull.

    "We've repowered that boat twice".
And it still doesn't run like "new". Obviously.

Nice project for Sbmar and nice documentation. What size prop and gear ratio was used? 2:1?

26 kts is good for f/v. At my place in west borneo many f/v run only 7-9 kts at full throtle

Great results, any idea what the boat weight is and what it will be fully loaded, I have a charter boat at 7 tonnes with a 370hp 5.9 iveco and Konrad 680. My guess on test day this boat weight is about 5 tonnes and loaded maybe 8 tonnes.

I want one, that boat will be ideal in the Cook straights between north and south islands of New Zealand when the seas change from flat to 20 metres in 4 minutes( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cook_Strait ) but the fishing is massive
