Is it just a bundle of wires going through the base? I'm surprised it doesn't have a slip ring or something. I remember visiting West Shore Services when I was a kid and thinking it couldn't possibly be that simple.
It's exactly that simple. The way ACA designed their collector ring setup for the Alertronics was not the smartest, so we're thinking this oscillating setup was made to completely get around the issue.
How did someone even get the graffiti on it? I’d assume it was in a siren graveyard and someone did it. Not sure. My guess is it was a teenager but maybe not. But either way it’s nice!
It was sitting back in the woods in Rhinelander, south of Phillip St. and Sumac Trail. It's been known about for years by several enthusiasts. I can almost guarantee with 99.9% certainty that the graffiti was done by a group of young enthusiasts during SirenCon.
I… I can’t say I ever knew they had oscillating alertronics… that’s wicked I love it
Definitely gotta say, the hardwire setup is a lot better than using slip rings. Very nice demonstration Conner!
Can't wait to see this ol girl fully operational
It'll take some time, and a whole lotta money; patience and money to do it right.
wow, that's a nice siren!

@@jcb19 do Whelens oscillate for the same reason?
@@SockyNoobhonestly that’s a good question now I’m curious.
Wow you got the one with all the disrespectful graffiti on it. Congrats! At least this way people will stop doing that. 😂
Worth it.
👍
Cool!
What was the point of the Oscillation on this unit?
I see it doesn’t do full 360
It's significantly cheaper than slip rings. I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been anymore found yet.
That is epic. One question: are oscillating models rare, or are they a custom feature that can be enabled?
This is the only example of an oscillating model that we know of. It's ordered from the factory this way.

@@jcb19 well that’s interesting to know. Just curious How long has it been sitting there if you happen to know?
@@jcb19OH! This is Rhinelander’s allertronic! I wonder where that went! Thanks for taking the opportunity to fix it up!
Where did you get your model 2T?
Someone from Grand Island was selling it. I sold it back in June.
Single or dual tone?
No idea what it was wired up for from the factory. It'll be rewired for dual-tone.

@@jcb19 knew I wasn't the only to see it

Will try
It came to Sirencon. Unless there is another Oscillating Alertronic Left.
