Drifting among the oceans waves, taking in the beauty of this worlds nature. Between the shores and the open seas, moving under and around the smooth rock formations that protrude from the ocean bed. The young man notices some formations are of pure obsidian, while others were strangely shaped as if they were creatures, monster from the depths. Scars cover that he assumes to be tentacles and body. (What happened here and what are you?) He asked himself. Running his hand down the side, it was smooth, but yet felt as if it were plate armor from an ancient knight. He writes down everything he can find for the day in his journal, returns to shore and sets up camp for the night. Morning breaks, he sets out without eating anything. Back to the one formation he was at the day before. He arrives, but in the morning light can see something farther deeper under the water. He opened his journal, whispers a couple words and dives into the water. He opens his eyes after hes submerged to see a massive humanoid like body holding up what everyone believes to be a rock. Swimming around the body he takes notice of scars of battle. The body he has found is massive, he only can speculate that somehow it reaches the dark depths of the ocean. Floating in pure awe and amazement, wondering what was this being like. Was it a ravenous monster, or was it sentient and was treated like a god at some point. (The battle scars show something or someone fought this being, but what could this one here be?) He says to himself. Placing his hand on it again, he feels what seems to be a heartbeat. Slow, as if in some form of stasis for so long that its grown over in rock. Something cracks, a small book sized door opens under where his hand was. An old tome rests there, he lifts it and begins to read. Starting to realize what this being is, questioning if he should leave quickly or stay and learn more. He continues to read to find a name or of some sort that it's been called before. He finally finds it marked in dark red blood, Eldrazi. In awe and terror he couldn't figure what to do, so he did what he knew best. Made and exact word for word copy of the tome and placed the original back where it belonged. The small door slowly shuts, something he realizes isnt of the Eldrazi itself, someone made this for someone to find. He began to swim rapidly to the surface, but then a noise came from below. He swam all the more faster, leaped into his boat and using his magic launched him and his boat as fast as possible away from there. Not knowing he'd meet more not on this plane, but on countless others in his search of knowledge to destroy the Eldrazi entirely. His name his Jace and this is the beginning of his story.
