being from Alaska I enjoyed this and your other videos. But was quite surprised to see your remote cabin was heated . Had Electricity. wow !! running water and indoor toilet.. my dream remote cabin . As a boy growing up on a homestede in Alaska with no Electricity. no phone, no TV. and 200 feet to the outhouse in 60 deg below Fahrenheit . plus no propane either. White gas and kerosene were out fuel for lights and cooking year round was only with wood and white gas....Oh to have lived in these modern times. also we hauled water from the river using 5 dogs and a frieght sled..water was carried in eight 5 gal square white gas cans.( pressure appliances fuel cans )40 gallons at a time. thanks for the videos.
That drive in was terrifying! North is so big an cute. Hudson was adorable in that bear suit. Cool video. I love the family videos. Hi Tori good to see you an Wesley too. Thank you.

Hey there, so the kids were not cold. They were very bundled and sleeping and protected from the wind. If we had brought them inside first, where would we have put them? They can’t be unsupervised on the bed or they’ll fall off. One of them was six months old and the other is three years old so they are not infants. It literally took all of seven mins to bring our stuff into the cabin and get it all set up for the and get the heat going. This is what made the most sense. You would understand if you had any experience doing stuff like this.
Wow what an adventure for a young family. So glad to see a tiny home used in the winter. I delivered mail in all kinds of weather and I could feel that ice rain. Rain proof capes work the best.
OMG that would be crazy having to drive that icy road , I'd be with Tori about slowing down Yikes , Nice to see that North is able to pull a sled real cool, That was some walk into the cabin though. but isn't it a cute one id love it . cant wait for the next episode looks like some family fun for sure .
I think the greatest gift parents can give their children are wonderful memories. You 2 are doing just that. Kids don't remember all those silly toys parents spend too much on anyways, but a kid will definitely remember those wild adventures!
You guys rock! The scenery is so beautiful! I feel like I’m right there with you. It reminds me of when I used to go hiking all over with my family. Thanks for bringing us with you.
This has been a weird weather winter in Ontario, we're only usually able to get out on weekends when lately you can experience three seasons in two days. Sometimes you just make the best of what you get, it looked like you guys still had a pretty great time. That cabin looked really cozy. It's great to see your whole family out again :)
Thanks, you can drive to the cabin in the summer snd it would be nice but there’s no need really for a cabin in the some and we have so many backcountry places to camp that we want to explore and revisit that for us, this is the perfect winter thing.…and also, how would one go ice fishing in the summer anyways? ;)
Fancy vacations to tropical resorts are fleeting and forgetful. You'll always recall adventures like this as a family. I really enjoyed taking the trip to the cabin with you. Look forward to the next adventure.
You two live the life! If only I could convince my family the way you guys do... they think I'm crazy. I might have to wait but my time will come. I love that you accomplish this with little ones so young. Good for you both... How can I rent this cabin? I apparently live only an hour and a half away!
Beautiful area, but terrifying road conditions. It's so wonderful to see the boys! They're growing so fast 💙💙. North did good for a first pull. It'll be great to look back on this when he's a pro.
It looks like you could have driven that Dodge truck all the way to the cabin, but the hike in looked fun. I especially loved seeing North start getting used to pulling loads, and I love love the chariot for Wesley and Hidson.
Wow, what a challenging trip in there. First driving on the ice than hiking in the rain. Looks like a great cabin. We loved seeing your little dog learning how to pull the small sled. Hope you have better days ahead for your trip.
This looks like so much fun! Your fam is so cute. I am trying to get my girlfriend into more outdoor type stuff like this, not even camping but just going out in a cabin somewhere, so that hopefully by the time we have little ones we can do fun family trips like this! I gotta subscribe you guys are too cool!
Jim when you first retrieved the first baby out of the kid sled l thought it was Wesley but it was Hudson. So cute in that bear suit he's big for 6 months. Wesley is adorable with his blonde curls. Yeah the drive in looked scary a bit eh? I know y'all had fun!
I love watching a video of a couple who are on an adventure and deal with adversity with love, understanding, communication & humor! Glad I found your channel! LIKED, SUBSCRIBED & NOTIFIED!😍
Brrr! Time sure has flown since I saw Wesley. He's gotten taller. Hudson so adorable. I Love them both! North, look at him, almost full grown, already pulling a sled. He's going to be stout. Beautiful colors on him. So good to see you & Tori. I liked this cozy cabin. It took forever it seemed to get there, but you made it! Looking forward to your next video. Hugs for the Boys! High paws to North. You & Tori can hug each other from me.👵
I know this is a video about the cabin but can I just walk about how adorable both your kids are but that baby especially is beautiful. Sooo cute when she picked up up after changing his diaper and was putting him in the carriage thing. He was so snuggled up it reminded me of Randy the little brother in Christmas Story lol Second your dog is adorable pulling that sled. Too much cuteness
I really love these family videos, especially in winter and they make me wish my family lived up where we had snowy Winters, although the-2° is typical down here. We do want to congratulate y'all on the upcoming 100k subscriber milestone. I see that you're right there and will be getting the plaque soon. Congratulations 👏 👏 👏
I've taken the kids mountain hot tent camping in the snow near Boone TN, and they learned bushcraft as Babies! Now they send me videos of my Grandkids in kayaks fishing for game fish in the middle of the Ocean and it terrifies me! Oh how times have changed! I hope you got some good enough weather to check out that Trout situation!
My wife, I, and the dog have stayed at a few Cabinscape cabins before. Booking again this year- it’s a nice getaway with good locations and all the basics you need. Of course we fight the bugs heading in, not the freezing rain! Nice vid.
North did great! He’s obviously powerful and full of energy, totally in his element pulling a sled in winter conditions. The hill you showed climbing (I know there was another one too) was a bitch-steep and iced over, I wouldn’t have been able to do what all of did there for sure.
Lol, comfy, snug and sleeping is akin to poor kids that have been sedated? and calling a 3.5k hike gruelling…maybe it’s relative to your experience but I wouldn’t consider this to be gruelling. Anyway, you’re a tad paranoid / dramatic.
Ya, it’s more scary but they had literally a waterproof shelter on skis and a warm cabin at the end of the trail. They were all bundled up and comfy so they slept pretty much for the whole trek! I have a ton of experience doing this kid of thing and ya, it’s still scarier for sure with the little ones because you just love them so much and want them to be safe but in the end, this was great for them and for us all as a family.
Those icy hills is why many sledges have a couple of PVC pipes on the lines to keep them from sliding into you. They keep them steadier behind you and are light weight.
You have an awesome Channel, Jim. Thank you for giving me great Outdoor content to watch while I recover from Cervical Spine Surgery. God Bless you & your Family:)
Watching North learning to pull brings back memories of trying to get my numb nuts Malamute to pull. She gets it for a while and then she's all over the place, gets tangled up and then sits down. Ah well this winter will be her 3rd year of learning, hopefully she gets it this season. Pulling with other dogs would probably help, but one Malamute is quite enough thankyou.
Wait, so Tory waited for you up north and you went straight from the canoe to this cabin? 🤔🤔. Where’s my canoe vid Jim? Pretty sweet little cabin. Gave me a few ideas for what I’ll build in a couple years.

Yes, this is considered fun in Canada.
Get some tire chains for those back roads, Baird.
Rain..absolute worst when cold
Everything looks fun except walking in ice rain. Hard no for me.

Did they leave their infants out in the cold while they unpacked all the sleds? Think their priorities are messed up.
