what’s your top 5 current players in the league that are either bench or 3rd string guys that you believe would excel in a starting role in a different situation than their current one
Ostertag 32 years old at the start of the season, 10 years in the league at that point Harpring 29 years old at the start of the season, 7 years in the league at that point Milt, 28 years old at the start of the season, 6 years in the league at that point for fun to compare the team to the Clippers' most important players Russ - 35 Harden - 34 Paul George - 33 Plumlee - 34 and young 'ol Kawhi is 32 and then throw in PJ Tucker is 38 Theis is 31 and Norm is 30
I’m a Jazz fan I remember when C.J. was a rookie he was tall, thin and lanky! He was raw but extremely talented he was a joy to watch I wish he could have gotten some consistent minutes when was with Utah but being the team they had minutes where going to be hard to come by. But i’m glad he was able to find his groove with Cleveland, Indiana and Toronto.
You know it's a good podcast when you started it and you get in the zone and your like shit it's over already no way it's been 10 minutes but it's been over a hour
Theo I thin you should ask more questions about high school. Like how much they averaged & how they developed, when they hit their stride etc. I think that’s more interesting than the AAU stories
44:43 Great perspective. All due respect, as a Laker fan, beating Utah in the playoffs during that time just felt like getting our rhythm. They were never big enough. Lamar also gave them problems. All that to say, a tough team nonetheless and I remember CJ being a part of that bunch. I was part of the DWill > CP3 debate at that time
Great interview. I'm from Toronto (West End) I've never heard an NBA player say, that Toronto isn't a great city. If we didn't have the immigration/passport requirements I'm sure we would get better FA talent!
I always paid attention to CJ game. He was tough. It don’t surprise me that he played 16 years out of HS. And I don’t remember his name during HS. His RACE was Crazy. AJ missed a Good1. And Theo don’t mind laughing in your face! Always Great POD🦾
Kawhi doesn't deserve a huge statue in Toronto, but there should be something for him because that could be their 1st and only championship. Without him they don't get a ring because Derozan and Lowry wasn't getting it done, couldn't get past Lebron for shit
Anybody that’s 6”5-6”8 and can’t play 4-7 years in the NBA just off defense fuck offense just didn’t put the work in idgaf what anyone say!! Tall for nothing mfs….. but CJ was my guy I loved that left hand pretty jumper

I played freshman at Mesquite.. When he dropped 60 with ease on our varsity his senior year.. 🤯
Damn Kobe really was a beast 🔥
Not playing AAU and dad letting CJ be a kid with just workouts and playing locally is a dope perspective
It was cool to hear CJ's story
A lot of basketball players should watch this interview
I looked at the Utah roster his rookie yr. He had real vets on that team. Buddy played with Greg Ostertag
Ostertag 32 years old at the start of the season, 10 years in the league at that point
Harpring 29 years old at the start of the season, 7 years in the league at that point
Milt, 28 years old at the start of the season, 6 years in the league at that point
for fun to compare the team to the Clippers' most important players
Russ - 35
Harden - 34
Paul George - 33
Plumlee - 34
and young 'ol Kawhi is 32
and then throw in
PJ Tucker is 38
Theis is 31
and Norm is 30
Working out for NBA teams in HS is bananas!
Great episode, CJ has a talent for tv or pod!

“You don’t groom consistency with inconsistent behavior” that’s a bar!

Ah We couldn’t see the Kobe shot over the backboard? #playdaclip
Kawhi got Toronto to the chip the first year bron leaves the East. Keep Demar same result

Not every tall person has the footspeed and coordination required to be a good to great enough athlete. Growth spurts can really fuck with your body.
mmmm its 50/50 tampering lol
So glad Theo moved on from his lil co-host guy was a waste of space
