D34 m = $501,000 & change to put it in perspective . Hope this entire transformational process works out very well & it doesn’t burden future generations with a massive debt to pay . There’s all kinds of funding available out there , however every loan has a due date to be repaid that should be calculated in accepting and receiving loans.

I concur the energy infrastructure has to be improved, why start it now ? Development can be carried out without the extra resources to host a huge conference to accommodate world leaders brings in to question whether to two concepts together make economic and development decisions makes sense. I would think fixing the country at every level ( education/ infrastructures/ agriculture/trade/health/business development etc ) should be the first priority to build a strong economy and then consider hosting such an enormous conference for a few days. Gambia is surrounded by much bigger economies ( Senegal/ Nigeria/Mali etc to name a few Muslim neighbors) by any measure but they are not taking on such huge debt burden to impress these world leaders. I could be wrong and open to be corrected/ educated on matters.
