These books are great collectors items for their amazing pulp covers alone, very good stuff. I have Genius Loci and The Martian Chronicles among others, I don't think my collection will match yours any time soon though.
How can you say “no” to that! Some of the cover art is fabulous! You better not go out again, coz you’ve got about 3 years worth of reading material there now Simon, lol!! Stay safe brother!!🤘🏻
Man book covers back then had so much soul and creativity now books covers and the material inside them is hollow lifeless and no imagination. Theirs a few diamonds in the rough here and there ,but that’s about it.
I had read the Andre Norton book when I was around 11, but I barely remember it. I vaguely remember reading most of the ray bradbury Martian short stories
@ 7:38 It really is a race to see who can come up with a way to plug us in, at least while on the clock. Big Gig companies are looking at us all! A slightly altered human would very much be cheaper than an android. Plug in, It'll all be OK!
Enjoy! Of the ones you've shown us, I've read and enjoyed these: City The Big Time Hothouse The Star King Rogue Moon In Deep The Martian Chronicles The Interpreter Guardians of Time The Time Hoppers The Hounds of Tindalos And the short story Sundance, from anthologies and collections like The Best of Robert Silverberg.
All of these books going to the dumpster is a shame. Not many people have the time to read them though. So many movies by brilliant minds could be made from such ideas! If anyone tried to make a movie from these discarded tomes I've no doubt they would be sued.
@@ExplosiveAction Oh, nothing, it’s just that it’s a book from John Brunner, and I really like that guy. I highly suggest you check out his stuff, he was a mastermind! Stand On Zanzibar (1968) is a great place to start with his work, although I’ve never personally read “The Stone That Never Came Down” which is the book that you showed at the time stamp I posted
Ah I see! Actually the first book out of the two hauls of books (there are two videos I uploaded) that I read was Brunner's "The Stardroppers" and I enjoyed it very much! Now reading The Star Wasps, but perhaps I'll read another Brunner after that.
@@ExplosiveAction Very nice! If you’re considering what book to read next and you *do* chose John Brunner, I highly recommend Stand On Zanzibar. He has hundreds of books, though, so take your pick!
I'll take those movie tie-ins off your hands.... I know a lot of people hate them but I collect them 😁😁
I quite dig them too!
Nice haul! The same happened to me. A large collection was given to me for free a couple of years back. I enjoy them every day!
Thanks man! I'm picking random ones to read and it's been a load of fun.
I love the Science Fiction
Thanks for show it
Greetings from México
Thanks!
Wow i love those covers , nice haul man , hope those books are a great read too
They have been so far! Cheers!
Wow amazing collection sir!
Thank you!

Thanks mate and I agree. I was very lucky to get both lots of these books
I’m familiar with Silverberg, Simak, Blish, and Anderson, all are excellent, particularly Silverberg. I don’t think he’s ever written a bad book.
Good to know, it's all quite new to me so knowing where to start is helpful

I know, tell me about it! Ridiculous amount of books haha
Great haul!

Yeah I'm still super stoked with these books, all essentially for free. Such great covers and I'm enjoying reading them at random
Killer stuff mate, I've been collecting this stuff lately. Havent been this luck but you hit the gold mine. 🤘
Thanks man! Yeah I was super lucky, twice, to get these books. There's a second one of these pulp sci-fi book videos I uploaded, check it out!
@@ExplosiveAction Oh I did, great stuff there too

I'll take a look at the Norton book soon!

Haha it's a great cover
Enjoy!

The Martian Chronicles

I just read The Interpreter and enjoyed it!
ROGUE MOON is good fun.
William Gibson is a great find there, one of the fathers of cyberpunk🔥
Thanks man, yeah I'm stoked to get that one especially
You end up reading many of these mate? I've just started getting into SF pulp and would like to know some good ones
Very slow going mate, unfortunately, but I am. The ones I've really enjoyed the most were The Stardroppers and In Solitary.
Looking for recommendations of hard scifi books that teach you a real world skill, like Zombies&Calculus. A textbook with a plot, if you will?
Good question! But I'm afraid I'm not really the best qualified to answer that. I'm only really dipping my toes in sci-fi novels with these pulps.
Read the Barrington Bayley book. Forgotten genius.
Will do!
Liked the first second due to the Blood Incantation teen!
With matching novelisation! Haha!
Where can I get these titles in America or online?
I'm not American so wouldn't know. I just got them at a market. Hunt your local used book store

Thankfully I saved a significant amount of them
