Who else plans to start a new game, set up a large galaxy with nothing but primitives, and max out that slider?
ahahaha It was the plan from the start ! Playing as the engineers !
I'll do that, be broken shackles, and have no fallen empires. Only minimar industries as the main enemy of a galaxy who has to bow for them.
and on the workshop there is a great mod that ad "UFO" likes shipset . It gave me some ideas mwahahha
I'm adding a mod that multiplies the primitives by 5 on top of that. Every habitable world will have primitives on it.
They're going to need a bigger slider.
This council of nations has convened to approve the activation of the Xcom program.
"Sire, the ingrates have banded together."
"Send in the coloss-no, wait. Send in the Cube."
You have been chosen to lead this initiative..
Stellaris never fails with the trailers. A billion dollar budget for a Stellaris series about us rising from the ashes and conquering the stars… I’m more than POSITIVE the team at Paradox would not disappoint.
Maybe someday in the future...
Riot Games did something with certain characters of League of Legends.

I love this dlc as it's one step closer to what I'd love to see. Seeding a life filled planet with radiated crystals for resource extraction later on. Scrin style.
Command and Conquer lives in Death!
Whoa, CnC fans in the wild
Very good Harvest28. Continue monitoring. Reaper15 will join shortly to prepare for operation.
I'd absolutely love to see that, but it would technically serve the same purpose as terravores (destroying planets for resources), albeit with a different method. Events where primitives harness the power of these crystals and start using them in weapons to fight you would be really fun though, ngl.
The technology of peace!
Am I the only one feeling a surge of patriotism for bird people?
In a few days the DLC releases, then it's payback time!
There will be two kinds of Payback players: The ones that will liberate the Minamarians from their corporate government, and the ones that will "liberate" the Minamarians from their miserable existence

@@AurumStella yes and no, its more efficient to just kill the natives and take the land, ask the americans how succesful this method is.
With this ending, we definitely need another trailer where the birdmen fleet exits hyperlane only to find a towering minamar titan there to greet them like: "your are not prepared". :D
Similar idea but I was picturing the others fleet returning with a neutron sweeping planet killer entering right behind them.

i'm envious of the stellaris playerbase. the developers are amazing compared to other pdx titles
A more in depth explanation would be nice.
older games like eu4 and ck2 have 1 billion dlc, half of them useless or reliant on another dlc. ck3 and vic2 are both barebones and at least what ck3 has shown us the dlcs seem to be minor things basically event packs. stellaris always gives dlcs with new mechanics, new flavor, new origins, new events. etc etc expanding upon every part of the game. every stellaris dlc is worth it.
@@hotdogboxd not only are the DLC good, they always give new stuff for free alongside them, some of the best stuff is put in base game anyway (like ascension perks), and only the host needs them for a full server
@@xmifi I don't know about other pdx games since Stellaris is the only one I play, but maybe they're talking about the Custodians. It's a pretty recent thing, like less than 2 years old, but it's basically a dedicated secondary team polishing the game and older content. Like free patches for the base game and past DLCs to fix bugs, add minor things, and balance features while the rest of the team works on new things.
In First Contact, this patch, they're set to give us a pretty big update to the Ancient Relics pack by adding a bunch of ancient technologies we can research and discover from archeology sites. And when the team was just starting out, they fleshed out the old species packs to give them new traits, civics, and origins like the newer species packs.
A wispering voice seeming to come out of nowhere from far away: "Join us!"
Moral of the story: send more than 1 army to conquer primitives
Lmao
It would be more accurate if the collosus cracked there planet right after, for even thinking they had the option to be free lol
Exactly.
That goes against the capitalist goal of this new AI faction. They're a Megacorp and destroying a world is not as profitable for them
Im pretty sure that is not a colossus :) And just a space station.
@@Happiest666 Not even a space station, that is the Minamar Specialized Industries flagship and if you pick one of the new Origins coming in this pack you can get your chance to strip it or repair it for your people.
@@s7robin105 Sometimes it can be better to liquidate an asset then to acquire it
I just finished a playthrough of XCOM 2 and this trailer evokes the exact same liberating feeling of vigilant optimism.
I swear, I saw this trailer already.
That's becasue the Stellaris YT channel had it up days ago. They just forgot to put it here too
I'm not going to buy it on day 1, but I'm actually somewhat excited about this one, so perhaps I'll buy it soon.
I'll probably look at a few content creators playing first though...
Time for some good old Vigilo Confido
This reminds of the scene from the ending of Mass Effect 3.
My thoughts exactly..
those Avian alien must be lucky that it isn't Megacorp empire that sell fried chicken have first contact with them ..
Damn. That voice acting/soundtrack combo was chilling.
Once again, music department for the WIN
you know, it'd have been funny if a colossus warped in at the end
"It is the day we all feared but prepared for. Since our ancestors met the Over Lords, our people fell victim to their cruelty and lost all sense of personal identity. But the human race over came and we defeated our Over Lords and forced them out of our solar system. Now we have just been informed that their fleet has been spotted near Alpha Centari and will be making a direct trajectory to Earth. We have not been idol. For over a thousand years, humanity has prepared for their return and now all that training and waiting has paid off. We welcome the challenge. The spirit of our species is not as frail as it was before. Countless generations depend on our success on driving our former Over Lords to ruin! Let us take up our cause and show the Galaxy that humanity are slaves to no one! We control our destiny and will craft a greater future for humans across the galaxy!"
They need to release the ost’s for their trailers whenever they drop one
Dude, you could definitelty make a movie
Please upload the soundtrack tied to this trailer! It's fucking awesome
Bird Story gives me goose bumps.
Perfect release. It’ll be on my birthday so I know what I’ll be doing to celebrate
Happy early birthday!
They look so cute, fluffy and cuddly....... i bet they are genocidal
Good trailer. Well done PDX.
0:24 WTF MASS EFFECT ENDING????
Exactly what I was thinking during the reveal
Probably a reference, i'm sure!
Hmm... will there be a pack that does more with terrestrial armies and battles? And I'd really like to be able to name wars in-game.
Unlikely. There have been many calls to revamp ground combat, but so far the devs have indicated that it's rather low on the priority list.
But how?
I remember a dev once said, they would rather remove ground combat then rework it.
I would really like wars to stop being just attrition circles.
I hope they don’t remove ground combat cause then whoever has the bigger fleet wins. At least with fortress worlds you can buy time or make it so they have space… but not the valuable planets.
Lol they decided to subjugate the primitives but forgot to recruit enough assault units to take down their 3 garrison units
Exquisite! Exquisite! Exquisite!
damn, non gestalts malyers have been spoiled in the recent dlc. any chance hive minds and machines will get anything close to that in the future ?
Only in mods
Malyers?
Cordyceptic drones and necromantic hiveminds that got recently added are pretty strong. I'd say they're already steadily making progress on improving hiveminds and machines; although hiveminds and machines have been very strong for a few years now.
@@matterhorn731 I think it's a mistype for the word "players" 🤔
Well Hives and Machines do get a flavor civic (along with normal empires/megacorps) that give you a similar-ish feel to the origins without the larger backstory the origins give you. You have less technology, fewer pops, and a weakened jump drive instead of hyperdrives. It's just that the origins don't mesh with gestalts since payback and broken shackles are intertwined, and you're supposed to get payback pops if you have broken shackles.
the beginning of the trailer gave me stargazer vibes from ME3
Omg because the portrait for the mom bird is a exclusively male one but she is referred to as mom
TRANS SPACE BIRDS!!!
It's time for PAYBACK! Lets go!!
I am so ready to roleplay X-Com and jumt to their system with a battleplanet first time they see us again.
you can see an observation post at 0:16. Looks like they've been keeping an eye on the bird folks after they blew up their mothership.
Wow, great trailer!
So is it a new episode of X-COM project?
0:30
Washimi but alien.
Any chance of us getting a private sector system like in Distant Worlds?
Inaccurate.
I would've tripled down as soon as my initial army lost by leaving their planet in constant indiscriminate bombing and sending a 5k army down after a single year. These upright birds wouldn't know what just hit them by not following the change of management.
Playthrough idea:
The name is oppressed galaxy where you play payback so an advanced empire will spawn and max the primitive slider and turn down AI empires. So the challenge will be to unite all primitive civilization to fight the advanced empire. With no help from any advanced empire
That Gruffalo reference(the way we heard this story) and overall work on trailer is amazing.
They're Lucky
If Hivemind found them, they'll change when they sleeping
If Determind Exterminator found them, they'll die where they stand
The beginning of the video reminds me of the epilogue scene of Mass Effect 3. The greatest science fiction video game trilogy ever that only got ruined by the ending 😢
is it just me or is there a face in the nebula sky box when they pan up at the end
Killing me with so many new dlcs! I'm like... 2 behind still cause I'm waiting for them to go on sale.
Love the CONSTANT development though. Compared to early Stellaris, this isn't even the same game anymore.
You go, bird-people!
Just When I Thought I Was Out, They Pull Me Back In!
That Stellaris leitmotif tho.
If only CK3 DLC was even close to this good
wait, we already know this
Beautiful
That Mass Effect reference trailer is so thematic for the DLC.
Channeled some pretty hardcore Mass Effect vibes in that trailer. It looks good though, so kudos.
Goosebumps! Seriously, this game is a true masterpiece!
I"M READY!
Feels like paradox just watched Stellaris Invicta season 1, and I love it tbf

Templin institute did something similar a while back.
X-com 2 lore be like:
"Next time we meet them, we will be prepared" Two rotations later their planet gets KFC'd from orbit.
Hell yeah, more war crime options
Remember, kids. It's not a war crime if you burn all books that say you did it

Love new content but now with all the mods i need going outdated for a bit, ill have to set everything up AGAIN😫
My brain kept searching for the force theme
tooo dooo turorooo tooo.... todo tu tururu.....
This is awesome. Would love to see a criminal empires/ crime syndicate flavor added.
The story parts remind me of one of the mass effect endings
The minamar or whatever they are called didn't occupy the bird's planet, they conducted a special military operation.
