The mud weight is increased to slightly overbalance the well so back pressure from MPD equipment is no longer required and the ESD of the annulus is sufficient to hold the formation pressure. Of course flow check on the trip tank. The RCD bearing is removed, then the driller can pull pipe and keep track of fluid displacements from trip tank to the well.
There are several options depending on the situation. If it's offshore operation, BHA to be pulled out of the hole under pressure in PMCD mode until above BOP. Then blind rams to be closed. To run a completion a composite bridge plug to be installed to prevent influx while Liner make up. On land operations the only one option for us was to start filling the well with KM at flowrates, than at least 1.5 higher gas migration rate. Thus we were loosing mud but holding gas near bottom.

How is the seawater going to affect casings and drill bits?
Is this technique good for drilling horizontals in depleted reservoirs? any concerns with drilling a lateral and potentially damaging formation?
After reaching the target point, how can we pull the pipes out of the hole and run casing and production tubing in the hole and then produce????

Impressive
Is there a risk of Underground Blowout?
Do cuttings go to the first lost circulation zone or up to the surface?
To the lost circulation zone first.
Very useful information
hi ......i'm a pteroluem drilling student .........and i'm doing some research about this MPD ...................so i'm asking for help ....plzz
you what?!
petroleum engineering student
i wonna some information about MPD
do u have some inforamtion about managed pressure drilling
More information about managed pressure drilling can be found here: www.weatherford.com/en/products-services/drilling-formation-evaluation/secure-drilling-services
wondering if u have more information i've already tried to contact them
magnific...
if anybody got a link about MPD do share it, I need it badly.
