💝 NEEBS 🎨
Btw, I'm borrowing ur screenname for polite substitutions, tyvm
This is why I want a mini series of them just re-vamping houses in the apocalypse 😂
@@artsysabs YES, PLEASE 🤣 _roflsnort_
@xx_Agent_Carolina I’ve always wanted that and then a mini Minecraft series where they use creative mode to just build whatever (probably a different theme/building type each episode)
I think stuff like that would be so fun!
@@artsysabs Nah, these guys are better with action & peril. I'd enjoy seeing them take RUST seriously, not sure if there's a danger factor in closed server or not. 🤔
The cinematic quality of these videos is LIKE IN THE MOVIES! Awesome job to everyone on this episode.
Neebs voice is so unique in the best way. It makes me so happy lol
Neebs finally saying what I have been thinking for a while...."Haven't we been playing this for years?"
I still remember the community poll they made where 7dtd came out on top, I know Empyrion was one of the other options and I think Minecraft was also on the list but still, It's crazy to think how much content they've gotten out of it.😅
@@TheRealPots I still think Empyrion would be a fun run.
7 days to me is just premium neebs gaming. I am biased because I tried to learn this game like 7 years ago and youtubed it, found Glock9 and then heard his love for the neebs crew and here I am. What were we talkin about again?
@MisguidedMiscreant 😂😂
@@Atari5732 In a different universe it was the winner! lol no pun intended😂
America's most dysfunctional gaming family is back!
It’s literally been years of the same mistakes being made. Over and over again. And I absolutely love it makes me smile every time.
or cringe.
upgrading from base materials gives WAY more experience overall, but more materials. So it just depends on your goals!
ha, yep. thought it was funny when Neebs said "we're fast learners". I thought, how ironic.
Yep. 😂 you idiots!
Always do the upgrade path rather than block path so much more exp able to make easy changes, also Appsro could have made those iron bars out of cement rather then iron.
it also give you a lot more breathing room to place something wrong, which we know is going to happen lol
Almost like the fun pimp locked the game behind intelligence and strength?
“Neebs & Appsro: 7 Years to Learn”…
Best comment right here 😂
Perfect
but the thing is.... they didn't have concrete blocks back then... and you start with wood blocks because you can pick them up and remodel your build before you set it in "stone" by upgrading it. So they didn't learn anything actually... they forgot.
7 Years to Most Likely Not Learn lol
@@Jobo70 "Oh well," both shrug it off & go back to what they were doing B4 mentioning it LMAO.
Okay so the shot from inside the cement mixer was inspired, kudos to who came up with that. I appreciate the little things you guys do that add up to top notch entertainment.
Still building on the ground floor... No door... Heat map maxed at 100... Screamers everywhere...
No notes!
Textbook 7days.
As you were gentlemen, carry on!
Well put, I love it. They have advanced compared to alpha 16. They are professionals at just winging it and making it work. I was terrified they might actually collapse the ZD.
Oh and don't forget how they almost everytime (mostly Simon) forget about the main loot. They clear everything, but just miss the main reward.
All of the cops that will be spitting at the guys from everywhere through those bars... 🤦♂️
It's gonna be hilariously chaotic.
I envision everyone on their bikes zooming around. Going to be a run away from the horde base kinda night but not before many deaths. Especially if they put down those robotic turrets and a bomb guy comes around.
Indeed. They have yet to hear the good word about scaffolding ladders.
@@raincoast_bear You saying they need a Ladder Guy?
@@j.a.6310 It's no use, they wouldn't play by Ladder Guy rules.
Idk why but I love the cinematic to the mixer and the shot from inside it😂
That motorcycle looks sick Appsro.
Alot of people mentioning xp with upgrading but the reason i upgrade is because incase i fuck up placement i don't have to spend a year removing a concrete block
Appsro booking it on the bike after an entire episode of being helpful was funny af 😂
Hey Appsro, I got rocks on my shelves. When I worked out of town my kids painted rocks with their aunts and I take them everywhere I go. They’re in their 20s now but last time someone tried breaking in my house they came in handy haha
Worked flee markets years ago and some groups will show up early and make offers while you unload.
My brother inlaw had a few rocks, about 5 inch, they were for weighing down tarps but when asked about them he told the woman the truth but seeing the plates she asked if we were in fact out of state then offered $2 per rock, we never went without extra rocks again.
My spouse and I collect rocks/minerals/gems. They’re all small but we put them together in a nice dish and it looks nice 😊
I liked that story, but it DID NOT end how I thought it would.
Neebs Crew , or their mods. I want to share this with you guys so bad, and i think everyone will love it. I am going to try to make this super short i swear. I built a big SKI-BALL table 3 blocks tall using arch pieces for perfect circles. I put 2 electric fence wires across each hole from the sides of the table. It has a backstop that looks like a carnival sign with lights around it. the table has spikes all under it. build a tower base with a bridge / ramp / stairs, or whatever at the bottom not connected to the table, and use the Robot Sledgehammers Neebs loves so much to punch zombies off the tower on to the Ski-Ball table. If they go in to a hole they get shocked , and fall on spikes then run back to the ramp from under the table. You guys could keep scores on horde nights!!!! Hahahahaha The test one i am building offline right now looks sooooo much like a giant carnival game. We have never used this idea , because we play on settings where nothing survives. So building nice things , even in steel is a waste of time, but you guys could make this idea just out of control fun. Maybe even build a high score board! lol
Nice cement mixer POV. @9:03 👍
Thank you, coming here to say this. You just don't get this sort of thing from anyone else I've seen.
Sure, it costs more materials, but upgrading gives a metric shit ton of xp. It also allows you to build a base and make it better as you progress.
In older versions they had to break down every layer you built up too.
I also prefer starting with frames since it's way easier to just pick up frames if you change your mind about where you want things to go
@@swskitso they did, yeah. But they kinda normalized the HP of blocks to make up for that.
Don't forget guys they will also dig ... reinforce the ground around foundation pillar
Hopefully they still have those ladders giving them a path back up. Then it's not an issue
The former 'heat map' system prior to 1.0 only spawned screamers once your heat reached 100%. This tended not to happen unless you were being particularly industrial - campfires, forges, work benches, cement mixers, chem stations... Or else going guns blazing.
In 1.0, however, there's a *chance* to spawn a screamer at only 50% which has been commented on by the player base. As such we've seen a lot more screamers just whilst cooking. It's worth noting that each dew collectors adds a total of 10% heat whilst they're making water; so the dew collectors the boys have inside the base raise their base heat level to 40% before they do anything else, like cook, run forges or cement mixers.
First time I played 1.0 we had TEN dew collectors - screamer city as you can imagine. We moved the dew collectros to a few non-poi locations a distance away, in groups no larger than eight, and visited them often.
They’re sooo close to understanding great horde base building it’s killing me. I’ll never tell in the comments though, it’s sooo much fun to watch them figure it out.
FYI APPSRO, for next season, putting iron bars as a layer adds 2500HP to a wall. But, adding a paper thin sheet of concrete adds 5000HP. 😉
Simon's been gas-lit so many times thinking people will protect him, but they don't, so he doesn't believe them when they actually FO start protecting him lol. "You mean ALL the time? 'Yes, all the time'" lol.
Simon press spacebar.
@MisguidedMiscreant That was hilarious 😂!!
Loved the shot from inside the mixer. Keep up the great work and thank you for the entertainment.
@Dora,instead of just digging down all the time, just dig the FIRST layer of dirt. The circle will get smaller, and then as it does it will pinpoint more WHERE to thens start digging down. Helps doing this because you can still see enemies, can gtfo if need be,and makes it an all around easier way lol.
7 days are my favorite series!!!
I better get to hear APPSRO yell "treasuuuurre" with a title like this! 😂 Have a great day, everyone!
TREEEEASUREE??
Appsro - "Took care of it cuz I'm a bad ass!!" Hahahahaha
I used to save the buried supply markers on my map because after a while they would respawn with really good loot and by that time I would have dozens of little holes to check
Wait that’s a thing? I never even considered it.
@stacktus9158 idk about 1.0 but yes it worked but only for buried supplies because with the treasure maps the chests break after you loot them the supply ones don't
Wait this is smart 😮
@@dem0nchild610 I think they fixed it. But i'm not 100% sure its been awhile since I played
@starhaven1881 it's been a while since I've played as well but I hope not I used to make bank like that
After coming back cleaning my neighbor's house with my mom and checking things and to see this pop up as soon as I leave RUclips. Oh yeah definitely a good morning for me.
What I love about Neebs Gaming playing 7 Days is that they haven't watched how to play and don't take suggestions of how to play the game they find out by playing and it couldn't be more entertaining. Cheers guys to you all to being you.
The editing and angles in this episode are on point!! Also, loved the Dora covering Simon scene, it really was just like in the movies!
Love this series
Something you'd think you guys would know...but by upgrading blocks you get XP. So yes, you're using more materials, but you get XP and level from upgrading stuff.
I have got to give some love to the person who films this and frames our heroes...definitely unsung hero of these series'
Neebs base looks fantastic. I might put a hatch on top for roof access to make throwing explosives into the pit easier but that thing should work pretty well. Other than it's a touch cramped with 4 of you.
The slow opening/closing of those vault hatches are gonna let so many zombies in 😂 can't wait for horde night!
You start with the basic materials to frame stuff out. If you build directly out of concrete blocks and make a mistake, you have to break a much stronger block to correct that mistake. You can, of course, frame it out with shapes then replace the shapes with concrete, but that also risks collapse if you aren't careful.
i give that horde base 5 minutes on a decent red night. Can't wait to watch :)
I always build a base shaped like a pyramid, 4 staircases on each side for zombies to split up and hop up with a “cage” in the middle to keep me safe. Normally it works wonderfully, but this last update really kicked our butt by the 2nd horde night 😳
So I imagine Neebs base is gonna bring some… chaos 😂
@@artsysabs I do similar except I make a giant + configure on a raised platform. As I progress I put in blade traps along the path with spikes surrounding the ground. Eventually I put in electric fences and dart traps with smg turrets on the roof for birds. It ends up being a giant death tunnel on all 4 sides while I sit and sip coffee and watch em all die. Hardly need bullets.
@ yeah we load up the “stairs” with spikes and put blade traps and barbed wire all around. Best base design I’ve come up with so far
10:00 "we've been playing this game like 7 years man".
Damn it's been that long 🧓🏻
.. Still be loving me some 7Days to die...
.. And as we watch their shows, How the world peace grows.
💚💛💜💙💖
Regarding choosing to use a concrete block versus upgrading them - what you do not realize is the XP you gain from each upgrade! So if you have the materials, and want to fast lvl, upgrading is the way to go. :) Do be aware which blocks you upgrade first though, because if you upgrade a block that is being supported by another block - then disaster can strike. As Neebs likes to say, "TIMBER!!!!" Otherwise, yes it is cheaper in materialss to create the blocks (unless you misplace the block that is). Yes, this has been my reality as well. lol
Love the shot through the cement mixer, editing on point as usual. I wish I could pick your brain about editing choices
Simons a fückin GAMER… LIKE IN THE MOVIES!!
12:54 no Simon, you didnt get everything from that POI
I always know when SLIPPY is editing bc he's (?) got the best music❣️💃👯
P.S. Where is our _house renovation series_ in 7D2D⁉️ 😁 (NEEBS & SIMON can each lead a team)
"Like in the movies!" is one of my new favorite Dora lines.
That song by Ted-Hallway at 19:10 is so atmospheric, it really gave me the badass vibes for Simon rushing out to take care of the greenie.
I'm sure you know but you can dig up the old farm plots and move them to the new base
lol you might be giving them too much credit
But when I discovered I could get my farm plot back I was very happy
To Neebs @9:27 Starting from the best block (like Cobblestone block) takes less resources (because you definitely don't need wood) but you can't pick them back once placed, while starting from wood frames lets you gather more XP (for every stages you build). For which one is faster I don't know, I know the good blocks take longer the better the material they're made from while wood frames are instant. It's preferences at this point.
I usually go for basic wood frame but sometimes I craft concrete block on workbenches for specific jobs like fences or late game addition to the base.
14:52 add to Dora's highlight reel hahaha!
Upgrading blocks: More expensive in materials, but you start off with blocks that can be picked up if you make a mistake. Also get XP from upgrading the blocks.
Crafting upgraded blocks: Cheaper in terms of resources, but can be time-consuming. Also have the possibility of mis-placing blocks and having to chop an entire upgraded block.
I generally go for the upgrading blocks from basic strat, as I make a LOT of mistakes when placing them.
10:20 upgrading the blocks gives a lot of XP. Spending wood and cobblestone for a few levels is easy progression.
Neebs crew, you guys are the absolute best! Love your videos and especially 7 Days to Die. I don't know if it has been ever mentioned to you but you should really check out the Forsaken Trail mod for 7 Days. It would be so epic to see you guys playing that mod. It totally changes the play of the game and makes survival brutal. Keep up the great work!!
So excited to see how Neeb's horde base works 😅😂
6:45 is why you start with wood and upgrade your blocks, plus you get a ton of xp from upgrading them
The amount of experience you get for upgrading a block through all the materials is worth thinking about when you do the math.
Yes, but as the said in the video....they don't do the math. Not a Neebs Gaming strength.
Yeah upgrading materials is such a good way to gain exp
you think these guys getting more xp and higher gamestage is a good thing?
Happy SnowFurfee I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A BEAUITFUL WEEK!!
StayFurfee
10:24 you just get way more experience when upgrading.
Upgraiding is better becuase you get a lot of exp
Way to go Simon at the start! You were aiming like a pro! That wasn't an easy situation to face tank with that pistol. If you get some retreat and re-engage genes you'll be unkillable no joke
I'm amazed how Simon changed from a guy who falls into every hole to a guy who saves every asshole, if it wasn't for him the death counter of some would be much higher, Simon just kills, me boy ooh me so proud so so proud.
@Appsro/Neebs:
Starting with ...
Steel Shapes ~05 wood + 00 stone + 10 clay + 20 iron
Concrete Shapes ~06 wood + 30 stone + 10 clay + 20 iron
Cobble Shapes ~06 wood + 40 stone + 20 clay + 20 iron
Wood Shapes ~16 wood + 40 stone + 20 clay + 20 iron
Building Shapes ~16 wood + 40 stone + 20 clay + 20 iron
... and then upgrading the rest, up to steel shapes, has those total respective resources costs.
The values for wood, are including the fuel to burn stone into cement and to smelt clay and iron into steel.
However upgrading to concrete gives a large sum of XP and to steel a huge amount of XP.
Also crafting concrete and especially steel blocks takes a huge amount of time. For large projects, that can be many hours, unless you spread the task over many workbenches.
Misplaced steel and concrete blocks are a pain, to remove.
- Starting with wood shapes instead of building shapes, spares no resources and costs extra crafting time and you can't pick them up. They also have the same mass and horizontal support. So there is no reason in there, to use them.
- In my opinion starting with cobble can be ok, if you have decent mining perks and tools to break them, if misplaced. Then you can skip two upgrading steps and start with decently higher static, sparing a bit of wood.
- For nerd poling, it can make sense, to use wood or cobble shapes for the bottom two or three blocks, so zombies can't break them so quick.
- For me, the XP loss and hassle with breaking misplaces shapes and extra crafting time, never warrants to start with concrete or steel blocks, unless I get them for free and am in a hurry. The stone and sand I get anyways as byproduct, when mining for iron, is enough for the concrete mix.
- Also concrete and cobble blocks have the same mass and horizontal support stat, so there is no reason there, to start with concrete blocks over cobble blocks.
- Steel has higher mass but also better horizontal support. So on the one hand, if you place them on wood or stone, they fall more easily, which then means significant resource loss. On the other hand, it can occasional be handy to start with an iron shape pillar for better horizontal support, to spawn wider distances from the get go. But that can be also done with upgrading.
- Assuming you experiment and 100 shapes fall, leading to resource loss. Then you just lost 200 wood, if it were building shapes. With steel shapes, you lost 2000 iron, 1000 clay and 500 wood. If you upgrade the finished design competently, that is unlikely to happen. It can happen, if you do not know about shape mass and support.
Dora covering Simon from the hill with his sniper is exactly what I would've done. We're the same person!
Neebs and Appsro worrying about the stability of what is basically a 4x4 solid pillar...🤣
Also, the advantage of upgrading vs crafting the block out of the material you want is you don't have to worry about misplacing the basic block. If you misclick and place a wood/cobblestone/concrete block, all you can do is break it and waste all that material.
Dora came in at the end to save Simon like the US Calvary in old western movies
9:10 you needed to spin the camera to match the wheelbarrow.
You guys should try and do what you did before with horde night. Everyone creates their own little base and survive the night. I remember the awesome bases like Doras bunker, Neebs Light House and Appsros double story House.
I liked that outro music. 👍👍
I am suppressed none of you have noticed this before. If you pay attention to the material that is used when upgrading, I thought it was pretty obvious. But I am glad you guys have figured it out. I have just thought you were always doing it that way for the XP.
12:40ish the conversation about upgrading blocks. point in upgrading instead of just outright building is the xp you get from upgrading. in multiplayer we burn the resources to have lowest level group member level up quickly. so not horrible to upgrade entire way it depends on xp vs resource. less time go build the upgraded blocks. more free time or someone is behind in levels have them upgrade and its like trading time for xp, 3 people feeding xp to 4th to help someone level faster.
"Define what straight shit is." lol that got me.
Little tip. If the zombie's still burning, it's going to get up.
I would love to see a short series where you guys use creator mode and you each go ham with no limitations on the best base you think would last the longest. Last man standing wins!
Base upgrading was always my go to for a faster level up since you could get so much exp.
But even I admit it can be grindy 😂
ALWASY Upgrade blocks from Frames, yes it takes wood, cobbles and concrete, but you get XP for every tier of block you level up and it's one of the fastest ways to get a lot of XP which means more perk points to spend! Also you can pick up your wood frames blocks if you place one by accident, if you place a concrete block, you haver to get your pick out and destroy the block, which obviously wastes the materials. Overall i find Upgrading to be the best way to build. (i have almost 3000 hours in 7 days, and building is my primary reason for continuing to play for so long.)
1:45 the treasure is still buried there. Dig it up.
so, concerning blocks...it is definitely more time-efficient to just craft your blocks from your material, and build with them like you would normally....however, on the flipside, by upgrading through tiers, e.g. wood>cobble>cement, you earn XP doing it....Hella XP, so you can get levels pretty quickly if you even have a medium size building and just upgrade as you go. Also, I saw someone, or multiple someones mentioning saving the locations of the "Buried Supplies" chests, which WAS a thing in a19 and a20, but I think with the trader overhauls as of recent, the boxes disappear like bird nests and garbage bags do, now.
Straight away, Kreigsmen's greatest weopon.
A warhammer 40k reference.
The reason upgrading blocks is better than just placing the original blocks (or used to be) the data for the lower tears all stacked so the base value was like 100 + 500+2000 and so on despite it saying the current tear value
cant hear neebs talk about flowers without hearing Cameron sing the flower song in my head
I am forty years old in a couple months. And i love this game. Also, I just laughed the entire time I watched this video lol. "Like in the moviessss"
Loved the montage at 8:53
Pretty much never want to craft finish blocks unless you're trying to save time in creative mode. THE main source of XP in the game is upgrading blocks.
Dora: "We'll just use common sense". Who's common sense? Cause you have none.
Upgrading blocks gives you a ton of exp so it's worth the resources if you want to level up quickly.
This channel should have more subs.
Who's gaming channel comes close?
Upgrading is better than just making the block. Upgrading is the second best way to get XP behind horde night, mining ore being a close third. Yes it takes more resources but it’s worth it. Also don’t make iron bars, just make the bars the same as every other shape and upgrade it that way it can go to concrete or steel.
Btw i discoverd a REALLY cool feature in sons of the forest 2 and its that you can send trea logs up the zip-line. And thats SO COOL! =D
Excited to see how Appsro's horde base does
9:02
Sro....appsro secret 7 days to die agent....at your service
A ranger outpost tower on the moutin is my go to base of operations, i usually hollow out underneath into the moutin and make it a large room
the hole should be an entire front& back yard, descending tiles inward 1x1, every tile spiked
neebs, you know the zombies are just gunna eat the pillar and you'll all fall to your deaths haha
Don't feel bad Dora!! I hate doin buried supplies cause I wind up doing exactly that without realizing it.
We would love some longer videos please!!!!
Okay, I know its typically unwise for you guys to take comments as suggestions because people mess with you. This is not one of those comments. I genuinely want to help. I have 1200 hours in this game with my group of friends and I am the designated horde base guy. I think you should know a couple of things.
1. The cage at the top of your base leaves you entirely vulnerable to all ranged spitting attacks. Unless you swap those bars for the shape "Scaffolding Ladder" you are likely dead from spit.
EDIT: If using this make sure the "climbing side" of this block isn't facing outwards. Obviously, if you give them a path to climb they will take it so you need to face the ladders toward you. (They are still climbable regardless of their orientation on that side as long as the block itself is vertical. So don't think rotating it will stop climbing just because the ladder rungs aren't horizontal anymore.)
2. Upgrading blocks isn't necessarily a waste. If you drink a Learnin' Elixir and go on an upgrade spree the EXP you get is nuts. The building block shapes are good for conceptual design since you can pick them up.
3. If your tower isn't 13 blocks above the bottom of that pit the zombies will enter "rage mode" from the damage they will receive from that fall. They will stop pathing to you and just attack your tower to break it down.
4. You typically want to have a bit more length on your bridges to your tower in this type of build because the zombies will be swarming you quickly. (I could be wrong on this one due to your settings.. I do not know what speed settings you have and I'm used to minimum 28 zombies per player on horde nights while playing with a group of between 3 to 6 players)
I also understand that your job is to entertain people and that purposefully making a flawed horde base is a solid way to do that. So I don't expect any of these to be read or listened to but I felt I would be a bad person if I didn't give some info. I will say that once you start making real solid bases and pumping the horde night speeds up the controlled chaos is super fun!
As always, love the content. Thank you for the hours of entertainment you've provided me. :D
Using the wood in the beginning is preferable so you can make sure everything works properly. Plus is you messed up your going to spend some time breaking that block
Sounds like Glock needs to parachute in for a few days to remind them of some mechanisms they have forgotten.
Upgrading costs more materials, however it offers more experience and is easier to customize when placing. You don't have to break down misplaced pieces.
