Hi. Just found your youtube channel. Geat job. We are seriously looking to purchase a stockman rover. What are your thoughts so far on it? Do you just have agm batteries or did you option up to lithium? Just wondering if we need that option. What model and options did you go for (if any). Thank you Kimbra
Hi, thanks for the message.. Stockman rover was our final choice after quite some research. We really wanted something that would fit our needs. After many years of setting up tents we wanted a quick set up and a comfy bed. We picked it up in Feb 21 and so far it’s.. 95% awesome 5% irritating. It’s a wonderful tow, barely feel it with the triton. So so quick for set up and pack down. The kitchen set up and sink, fridge, bbq, gas points, storage, tool box etc etc all perfectly set and easily accessible even for a quick lunch stops. On the other hand the awning and walls don’t hold up to bad wind and random storms, sudden changes to weather have torn parts and it’s hard to get away from getting wet without climbing inside. And making the bed takes a bit of gymnastics. Ours is the Intrepid model so we don’t have the lithium batteries. We do have a solar blanket and a generator as a back up for the really hot days and the prolonged cloudy days. But on average temperature partly cloudy day we usually sit at 90-100%. Overall we love the rover, it fits into spots that other campers don’t and it is super quick and easy to set up, you almost feel bad for those who take ages to set up 🤪 All the best making a decision on your set up, we are off to Mt Kosciusko next week to conquer the mountain ⛰️ 😎
@@roverinroundoz Thank you for your feedback. That helps us with our decision. We are in Tasmania and have a friend in Victoria who will take a look at the build quality for us next week. Depending on his report we are keen to go ahead and start the ball rolling with an order. Ours too will be the intrepid with the added options of lithium batteries and 240v system. We broke one of the plastic feet off the side in one rut. The clearance of the rover is great, the spare tyre undearneath is the lowest point.. I’d say about 500mm clearance 👍

Did the Rover clear the ruts OK? What is it’s ground clearance?
