The fact that it not only referenced the original “Conan the Barbarian” movie but also other Arnold Schwarzenegger movie and real life stories, even the was-playable The Terminator
Rest in Peace, Mako. Edit: For those who he played the wizard in the first Conan Movie, which he did narration for the opening monologue and then went on to voice other roles like Akuh and Uncle Iroh.
Conan's animality being a bull is a reference to the books I think, as he makes a comment about how strong Cimmerian ox are and that he once snapped the neck of one as a teenager. It was a boast to one of his enemies and a finishing move at the same time.
LOL, loved all the random Arnold screams. Here's a fun fact about the original Conan movie, Arnold was fresh off his bodybuilder days and actually had to lose muscle mass for the part because his arms were too thick to hold/swing the sword properly.
In addition to the film references, there are a ton of nods to the original Robert E. Howard stories. Some of the lines are almost direct quotes from them.
Anytime I see Conan's sword I remember a morbid fact that the actor for the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Wild Force, Ricardo Medina Jr, killed his roommate with a replica of that sword
I agree, its good that they didn't forget this was a quote from Ghengis Khan, and Shao Kahn is based on Ghengis Khan, of course he would know the quote.
So why is Conan's Animality a bull? Is there some instance of him fighting a bull in the books, or is it just a reference to the fact that the movie was filmed in Spain?
4:26 Why Shao Kahn completed the sentence? This is a quote from Ghengis Khan, Shao is based on Ghengis Khan (who was Mongol, and his army was from Turkic warriors), and Conan might be based Mongol and Turkic warriors as well, Conan's comic book model art was based on a Turk actor.
@timurjack8773 The Cimmerians are the ancestors of the Celtic people, and shao khan was inspired by conan when he was first made. All they did was change his armor
@sbevil_kinevil2898 , only Ghengis's heirs can take ''Khan'' name, such as Hulegu Khan, and in MK its same system. After Shao Kahn was defeated, General Kotal becomes Kotal Kahn, and in new MK1 Shao isn't 'Kahn', he is General Shao because he didn't become Emperor yet. Its obvious Shao Kahn is based on Ghengis Khan.
@timurjack8773 just because his face was inspired by that Turkish man doesn't mean he is. It is stated that the Cimmerians, which is conan's race, were inspired and are the ancestors of the celtic peoples. However, the world of conan has many different groups with different inspirations and such that then become other groups of people
13:53 Missed one here: the line "Unimaginable Evil!" is very similar to the "Unspeakable Evil!" spoken by Aku, from the intro to Samurai Jack. Aku was famously voiced by the Mako, the actor who played the Wizard in the Conan films...
Two things: 1) Why do they keep having Arnold characters when he's the one guy who won't do his own voice acting 2) They can't include "and hear the lamentations of the women"?
Arnold knows he isn't a voice actor, so he personally signs off on accurate soundalikes for any project using his likeness. Also they literally reference that line in the video.
