Thank you for such an informative and clear video! I love these flowers and bought two plants a couple of weeks ago. One is going strong but the other isn't doing well. There are a few leaves curling on it and I don't know why.. I was about to fertilise my buddlejas today but lucky I came across your video! I would love to see how to propagate these babies ☺️🌱 Also, hi from Australia 😆👋
This comment made my day! Hi from the US 🇺🇸 😊👋 have you planted it yet? If not maybe keep it in the shade until it gets used to it’s new environment. Good luck and keep me updated 😍
I got my Buddleia from a local shop with farming and planting equipment, and it was a little stick that was in a dormant state so bought it and brought it home. I potted it and for about a month and a half nothing happened so after waiting a while, i dug it back out thinking there was a problem since i was new to planting dormant plants, and i had no idea what to really look out for, so i just thought it was dead but still had a little hope, so put it back in the soil and left it outside for a week or two and bam! there is somehow tremendous growth! I think my problem was is that I packed the soil so much that the roots couldn’t grow and travel, and that the plant just also needed more sunlight.
So beautiful! Thank you for this video. I have one growing in my back yard planted by past owners. Sadly it’s in a shaded area and barely blooms. I would love to move it into a different location.
Aw that’s too bad! Butterfly bushes are quite reasonably priced, if you’re not able to transplant, put another one in a sunny part of the yard :) good luck to you
Great video! A kind of got what I was looking for! Thanks! I have a butterfly bush that eventually turned in to a tree form by itself 😂.. then I started doing the needful and cut extra growth to keep the form. The problem is it looks good when deadheaded and I can’t reach the top.. if I cut it around 4 ft this spring do you think it will still grow? I don’t want them to die.
I have a White Buddleia in my garden which was a cutting. It first appeared in my June/July 2018 videos on my channel. This plant has grown and finally settled into it's permanent place in the garden for my February 2021 update. It should flower nicely this year as the parent plant did in 2018. Happy Growing :)
@@BirdofParadise It was a lovely surprise to find. I took a cutting from a wild one in July 2014. I lost this plant in May 2019 which is on my channel. I took cuttings from it then and luckily had an older cutting from it that's now taken it's place, so long as I don't lose the plant I'll be happy :)
Very nice tutorial! Will this be applied to older plant? I have few bushes that around two yrs old that I wanna turn to tree because they look a bit messy with all the lower branches that shade other plants next to it. Thanks!
Sweet Pea Craft hi! I’ve personally never tried it but why not give it a try. :) if you end up doing it lmk how it goes, I’d like to see how it works out 👍🏻 😊
Great video! You inspired me to try this with a little buddleia I picked off a wall before lockdown. 😁 But I've got a problem... I somehow managed to snap the stem a few weeks ago. I quickly fixed it up with some masking tape and it stopped wilting and I think it's growing again now. Do have any advice for what I should do? It would be really helpful
Arnie the Purple Dinosaur are there leaves below the part that you accidentally snapped? If so, it will most likely still grow even if the snapped part never heals over. But either way I’m sure it will be fine- they’re very hard to kill 😊
That was an informative and entertaining video. I have 3 new butterfly plants I recently planted and I might try this with one of the Black Knight's. I was going to subscribe but it looks like you've stopped making videos?
Thanks so much Bob! I started a graduate program, but I’ve been meaning to add some new videos, even if they’re only a couple mins long. I do respond to comments still tho! Thanks for watching :)

@@BirdofParadise good response. There's always someone to criticize the most insignificant detail and misses the super great qualities of someone or something. You're video was awesome, thanks.

Can you trim your bush any time of the year?
It’s best to trim it in late winter/early spring :)

Yes, please make a propagation video! I just received one and would like to copy and paste it in my garden.
Thanks for letting me know :) I will make one😇
Please do a propagation video!

I believe it’s called Summer Lilac

Does it highly scented or just light fragrance. . ?

Haha! Thank you so much, I appreciate that Bob. Lmk if there’s anything specific you’d like to see on the channel
You can do exactly the same with Fuchsias
Wow! I love that! Have you tried propagating them?
at 1:59 , you can see Mycelium on the bamboo stick when you are pulling it out.
Wow! Thank you for pointing that out

I would like to know how to turn a cutting into a Butterfly Bush Tree.
I will try to do a video on that. Thanks for watching!
Aonde encontro mudas no Brasil
Sou dos Estados Unidos, então não sei, desculpe
Q: When it grows into a tall tree, how do you deadhead? This would be the problem for me, as I have balance issues. Thank you.
I keep the tree the same height, as they don’t grow too tall. So I don’t usually deadhead

That's why they're called an invasive species
Wow, that's quite the longgggg sentence! 🙂
where do you live in?
The United States
Butterfly plants
they said in less than 4:00 min but the vid is 4:59
Yes, watch it and you will see :) the last min talks about conditions and is an extra bonus
How to propagate?
Your channel picture is inappropriate for gardening advices.
Propagate this: your vibe is inappropriate, but hey, it’s ok, not everyone receives their mother’s love
this girl does obviously not how how to use twisty ties.
Lmao
Actually, I think the way she does it allows the trunk less restriction and can expand with the plants movement without the wire cutting into it.
