Delta Force is back on the menu, boys. Delta Force Hawk Ops is set to be revealed at Gamescom 2023 and I'm excited to see it happen. I grew up with the series greats like Black Hawk Down, so let's dive into the game's history a bit and see what could be in store.

I have been saying for about a decade now that Delta Force (and more specifically Joint Operations) should make a comeback. If they do it right, this game could be amazing.
I unfortunately don’t think it will be. The first 10 seconds of the trailer looks alright but otherwise it looks like a cheap COD clone

While I am happy that Delta Force is back in the spotlight after so long, the game is being developed by TiMi. Considering their reputation of making games heavily P2W (one example was COD Mobile), I just hope they don't bring their P2W tactics into this game.
This game's multiplayer had large-scale multiplayer before BF2. Black Hawk Down and Xtreme were two of the first games that I played in my life! Regardless of what the devs aim for this title, I am really exited to see what they have in store for us!
Also, I am really glad that you, Flakfire, are covering this old gem!

i remember renting operation flashpoint: dragon rising when i was around 12, it was my first experience with a tactical shooter besides rainbow six and ghost recon on the ps2. i know OF:DR wasnt well received but i enjoyed the few days i got to play it n the game always stuck with me n helped shape my taste when it came to fps games i wanted to play. i havent tried any of the other operation flashpoint games n i kinda forgot about the series for a while... looks like i have some catchin up to do haha
Flak, will there be factions like in squad? Or is it just heroes like bow and arrow lady dressed in blue shooting bow and arrow lady dressed in red? No trying to troll, btw
One thing you forgot to mention for Task Force Dagger was that each of the 10 operators fell under 5 classes: CQB, Heavy Gunner, Medic, Sniper, and Grenadier. Each class has its own perks when chosen:
- The CQB class move faster than other classes and has an extended knife range. Delta Force and JTF-2 has this.
- The Heavy Gunner class mitigates any recoil when firing weapons and can take more damage than the others. The Green Berets and Marine Force Recon has this.
- The Medic class allows players to revive team members in Multiplayer and also swim better in terms of speed, mobility, and holding their breath. Seal Team 6 and CSAR has this.
- The Sniper class mitigates all swaying when aiming a scope and crawls/move in prone faster than other classes. The CIA SOG and the SAS has this.
- The Grenadier class will always have their grenades land at the exact spot you're aiming at (unless its out of range). The SASR and the Rangers have this.
Perfect timing since it’s almost the 30th anniversary of Battle of Mogadishu aka “Black Hawk Down.”
You know what 90's era shooter I want to comeback... The Spec Ops games. Yes I know Spec Ops: The Line came out in 2012, but I miss the old school PS1 Spec Ops Ranger Elite and Covert Assault games.
Grew up with BHD and still remember how brutal that game was, limited amount of injection you could have, decision on how to keep your squad mate alive, and not to mention split screen co-op friend that keep dying everytime we reach half of the map is super painful. I remember clearly when trying to walk through minefield and having to repeat the mission five to six times cause my brain is so dumb to read the simple stupid damn sign which one is having the mine and which one is not.
Black Hawk down was amazing. I still have it too.
Black hawk down was my first game I ever played online. My god it was so much fun
I need my 2nd Battlefield alternative besides Battlebit, if it's this game.. then I'm glad. looks good at first glance.
I grew up playing delta force 2 when i was a kid, it was such a cool game. One thing that stuck with me was restarting missions and experimenting with different gear. I'm really curious to see more of this game
DF2 was my jam back in high school. The custom maps on the multiplayer servers were INSANE. So much fun and so completely out of control.
uhuuuu - i've playing this since DF1 all the way trough DF2, DF Land Warrior (the one i liked most, balistics were insane), DF Task Force Dagger (that good balistic engine was left behind in this version, DF Joint Operations (so so ), DF BHD, DF BHD TS, DF Extreme and DF Extreme 2. We we still play DF BHD and ther are some matches (squad x squad) from time to time. We are all excited with this new release. Thanks for sharing. Hugs from Brazil.
My brother and I played a lot of delta force Blackhawk down when we were younger
This brought back memories of playiong Soldier of Fortune back in the 90s or early 2000s. Even had an online portion.
Delta force 2 was the first FPS game I started with then task force dagger black hawk down and the most DLC I loved was typhoon rising with a day night cycle and was able to make your own muti-player maps. I was in a squad with about 200 people in it. The one thing i like about the delta force gun play was the winds when you snipe someone over 200m you hade to calculate for bullet drop and windage none of this hit scan stuff like whats in BF and COD today is.
A modern day black hawk down game would be AMAZING

Been waiting at least 3 years for this, after i started replaying DF1 again since at least 18 years. Coincidentally I re-downloaded DF1 and 2 yesterday XD.
Land Warrior was the first game i played in the Delta Force franchise. Was some brilliant multiplayer for its day

@@deliveranze3342 yeah you're right I was thinking of Rainbow Six 3. I played both on the original xbox but Delta Force was definitely my favorite.
I grew up with Black Hawk Down, I have played that game soooo much that I ended up finding glitches in the game and for example I found a way to make the Mogadishu mile run super short, So instead of doing the whole run and getting left behind I found a way to get onto the little bird and get a free ride all the way to the stadium and usually I’d get my teammates carried with me shit like that so instead of running you literally fly over the entire city all the way to the stadium 🤣
Then how to skip the entire mission with the tunnels finish it in like 3 mins 🤣
Or how to get out of the map in besieged and just run around shit like that without triggering “leaving mission area” I found so many things In the game Black Hawk Down was literally one of my most played games as a child i grew up with it back when I was a kid only games I had on pc was Black Hawk down nfs underground 1 and bf Vietnam that’s all I had most amazing games ever

But a BHD in today’s graphics so I could play splitscreens with my uncle
I hope this new Delta Force takes us back to Somalia go experience what Somalia and Mogadishu is like with today’s graphics and I hope to god this game has splitscreens coop campaign

And no one not a single company today can make those games with the same love and passion like they did in the early 2000’s and I’m speaking of franchises like Battlefield and NFS.
I also see this game is gonna have some kind of futuristic crap to it like COD and BF2042
So I’m kinda let down a bit and I hope that not the entire game is gonna be like that.... I hope they keep it gritty and realistic to BHD cuz they have the perfect formula here for a unique Shooter game I do NOT want another boat driving up the skyscraper everyone with exo skeletons and jump jets and “Special Operators” wearing black shirt dark jeans with flip flops and a cap on his head to a Warzone.... like nooooo that’s so overused and overrated and Fucking Stupid I just want a normal shooter game be a normal Marine or Ranger or “Delta Force” Operator in a gritty Warzone or battleground like Somalia.... like fuck sakes.... why is that so much to ask for?? :(

I hope they have remastered the Black Hawk Down campaign and its not just maybe one mission here and there and then goes a bit too much into COD territory.
Yeah bf2042 has me sick of futuristic battle. I want modern graphics with historically realistic gameplay, not some sweat lord grindfest gameplay. If money is not a big deal(obviously money is everything) then we will be granted black hawk down.
I feel the absolute crown jewel of Novalogics titles on that engine was Joint Operations and Escalation. Absolutely dwarfed battlefield in player numbers and scale, unfortunately didn’t weather the storm though 😢

This game has lots of BF2 vibes, but I played almost 3000 hours of Battlefield 2 and I'm very surprised I only just heard that this game had multiplayer! Back then I thought it only had singleplayer.

I hope the MP still has the tactical/"milsimmy" lineage of Delta Force/Joint Ops. No regen health, no unlimited vehicle ammo etc. There's crap ton of AAA games that do that already and the Milsim games are often way too time consuming and require energy to invest in for me personally. That BF2/Joint Ops middle spot really needs a serious revival because I don't want the same polarised CoD-esque run and gun and Mil Sim polarising things, more modern-ish stuff in the middle executed well (WW3 just feels hard to get into due to overwhelming Battle Pass + everything locked behind level grind, game has some cool concepts and small map count).
Black hawk down is a masterpiece
Their current teaser looks nothing like slow methodical pace of the old.
The new game can easily get lost in the crowd of FPS games if they follow trends.
God I hope it’s good. I miss prime BHD so fkin good and hours and hours of fun. The servers were fun to rank in. The team and squad matches shaped my future. delta force revolution FTW

The game that ruined DF was joint ops imo.. I prefered the set tracks and AI driven vehicles once they allowed you to navigate them yourself it lost something for me
