I have 4 chickens 2 yellow babies that are about 2-3 months old, red chickens and 2 big ones, I have one that's mixed with a light brown dark brown and little bit of black and 1 more completely black one, the different coloured one is squatting a lot as soon as she hears me though she is squatting and I have also seen her build her nest, hoping for some yummy eggs:) Thanks for the help.

Squatting is not a good indicator of whether or not they are ready to lay. My Cochin/Orpington mix hens (and some roosters) have been squatting since 2.5 months. It's been seven months now and I've gotten no eggs. Cochins usually lay around 9 months and Buff Orpingtons around 6 months, so I'm not expecting anything until at least 9 months. The comb size and vividness of color are good indicators. There are other indicators based on the vent and size of the abdomen of the bird.
Nice video. Don't listen to the haters about the sound. The beginning was a little quiet, then I turned up the volume: Problem Solved! Thumbs up.

Great advice, I have 6 isa Browns about 18 weeks old and not laying, there combs are a little bit more than your first one with almost no wattles. They have plenty feed and clean water I guess it’s a waiting thing now till there ready as nature intended.

There are certain breeds that don't have a comb, even when they are laying. What about them?

My orphinton is about 6 months old and is mating. Is that unusual? Haven't seen eggs so dont know if she's laying though.

You might want to watch your rooster in that case. If you have a mean rooster, it will mate with your hens no matter if they are ready and willing. This could lead to serious health problems with your hen.
