The place in Riga where you will find nothing you need but everything you could imagine from the former Soviet Union.
From grenades to uniforms and most of all interesting people.
we hear about how people were forced into the SS Legion and after sent to the Gulags for punishment.

I also love visiting these kinds of places, but unfortunately due to my travel lifestyle I try to avoid accumulating things until I settle down.
I think I should rent a storage somewhere as I do come across a lot of things I like, but avoid buying them.
Where would I store a grenade??? But it is something I would have definitely bought as a cool paper weight for my desk.

Hi, yes it is although it underwent "improvements" since the video and that seems to have chased away most of the vendors, but I think it is still worth a visit.

It was very unique and somewhat different, but really a great place to experience some interesting history.
if I ever visit Riga, I would definitely go there and buy some soviet stickers!

Have you ever visited New Zealand lots to see and do people start getting friendlier the further south you go heaps of cool funky places where you can have genuine positive interactions with good people
Loved your video, very interesting place to spend a couple three hours checking the ww2 memorabilia, live that stuff. And of course meet the Latvia women, in the summer for sure. Can't stand frickin Snow. I guess I'm spoiled for living in Florida.

Hi Oliver... sadly, around 90% of the market as seen in this video has now been removed.
Why the authorities decided to 'cleanse' it is a mystery to me, but it's gone. Only a few stalls remain and they're seriously overpriced and focused on ripping off tourists.
