10:30 For checkpoint 4 I found it easier to first do a dash on the ground, jump immediatly when you get your dashes back and then do a upwards dash to grab the ledge.
I had this happen to me on my first few attempts. All you have to do is make a well timed jump off the cloud, followed by 2 dashes and hope for the best.
Try jumping at the very peak of the cloud going up. I’ve found that the longer you leave it to jump, the higher you go. If you time it so you press jump just as it reaches the very apex of its bounce, you’ll jump higher. Try it a few times to get used to it, as leaving it too late means you won’t jump at all and it does take some getting used to.
You know how we all look at the path ahead of Madeline and anything right on top of her is sorta guessed based on what we saw about a second or two ago? Like small gaps for dashing, those pinball bumper things, and also cloud jumps. Well I find it helpful to glance back at Madeline every time I land on a cloud so I can time the jump better.
Learn how to do an extended super, and it will make your life a lot easier - celestegame.fandom.com/wiki/Moves#Extended_Super_.2F_Reverse_Extended_Super The idea is that Madeline starts her animation for dash reset if she is on the ground. that means you're not jumping straight up. You have to hold the analog or d-pad up. If you hold it at the up-left position you'll crash into the spikes

I don't understand 8:35. Whenever I try to jump between the spikes off the second cloud, I hit the spikes before I even have a chance to move in the air.
Try curving yourself around; just roll your joystick around around instead of moving it to the side. Also, try moving to the right while your on the cloud, you should be able to squeeze through that way. Now the next jump is really tricky, but you’re just doing the same jump you did before, just with less wiggle room.

Here's a fun trick. If you jump from instantly when you get on the wall, you can also avoid using the hold button. That way, it doesn't take your stamina. You'll have to be careful tho coz obviously you'll start going down if you don't jump immediately.
You dash up, and then when you're RIGHT NEXT to the block while in mid dash, you jump in the direction you want. It's really infuriating, but once you get used to it it becomes natural. Good luck! You got this!
Basically what the other guy said. You need to still be in the middle of a dash right next to the wall and then press the jump button, it will launch you upwards and in the opposite direction of the wall.
For anyone googling this, this is how you do it: The technique is a dashing wall-jump. It only works with straight up vertical dashes. Doesn't work with angled dashes. Madeline should be right next to the wall with no space in between her and the wall, pixels touching. You want to graze alongside it, without making contact and rubbing the wall (you know the animation Madeline goes into when she's sliding down the wall, don't do that). Once you're properly positioned and dashing parallel to the wall (this is the hard part), just hit jump while you're still dashing. Do not hit left or right towards the wall. You only want to hold left or right after you've connected the jump. Make sure you hold the jump button down (don't tap it) so you get full height. The wall jump will have the same height/momentum whether you connect the jump at first frame of the dash animation, or the last frame of the dash animation. It's the same jump. This means late wall jumps will give you more net height than early wall jumps (I haven't tested this, now that I think about it, but I've been playing this way). This is explained very poorly in game, if they had just put a slightly different sign under the crow it would be much easier to understand. The technique can be super useful in certain rooms, especially wall jump puzzles or specific puzzles where you start to run out of grip strength. I think you actually have to use the dashing wall jump to complete the a room in the core a-side (where there is no instruction/sign).

I completed Core A-Side without it; but I can certainly see how it makes that easier now.
Everyone complaining about 9 and 2. I was stuck for about an hour on 1000 metres.
Who thought it was a good idea to put a rhythm block section at the end
Trauma
9:30 I've been struggling here for about 45 minutes. Any tips regarding this section? Thanks in advance! 💕
You'll want to make sure the cloud is on the last upward frame or two when you jump to get the height you'll need to clear that spike crystal.
Tony TheTGR Thank you for the help! I beat the level a few days ago but I'm thankful for the advice!! 💕
SAME ! I final beat it. I found the beginning of the stage pretty easy mais this ! And the dash jumps at the end... Awful.
I found the best way to do the cloud jumps is to wait for the second swish noise.
the feels same here
4th checkpoint is literally impossible that jump cant be made, madeline dosent reach that far PLEASE how do you do it
checkpoint 9 is evil, this one spike on second block when you climb, I couldn't jump through it...
dude how do you do that jump I cannot do it
@@jack-fm3lb jump but straight up without holding left just up
That fucking snowball section...
If you do an extended super/hyper, you don't need to rely on the snowballs to make the long jump - celestegame.fandom.com/wiki/Moves#Extended_Super_.2F_Reverse_Extended_Super.
The edits prove this wasn't don't by a bot
5 hours, 4.5 beers, 1646 deaths, and I finally finished this atrocity-this affront to God and all things good.
Many thanks to this comments section for confirming that I'm not incompetent and that this level is, indeed, designed by the devil.
3 had gotten me killed because i didnt know how to pass it, saw the video and made it in three attempts. I cant believe how much time i spended.
its incredible how much i hate checkpoint 2
This was definitely the best B-side. Was very fun and rewarding when i beat it. 712 deaths in ~2 hours. Personally flag 13 was the worst for me, it took like 25 mins to get past..
A tip for flag 3 is to skip the first wall hop by dashing onto the ground and jumping, so you only have to do the second wall hop.
1377 deaths but we did it
Best level in the game after normal Summit tbh
Checkpoint 2 was so much harder for me than checkpoint 9 was 😭😭😭
