The redhead girl saying "everything I know is from glee and I feel ashamed" I FELT THAT DEEEP
Lesson = Never Trust Glee .
What u mean ashamed?
"everything I know is from Glee"
Glee did an entire show of West Side Story; you better know this
Hannah Price 😂
HanzaBananza yes lol
THAT CUTE BLONDE GIRL WHO KNEW LIKE ALL OF THEM WTH I LOVE HER
I’m so glad my dad raised us girls to appreciate & recognize all films including the musicals. Five of those listed here are among our family’s favorites. Seven Brides, Music Man, Singing in the Rain, Fiddler and Sound of Music!
My grandmother loves these movies
seven brides for seven brothers will always be a favourite one of them was in West side story also. old musicals are the best musicals I was brought up watching them 👏along with the sound of music, German blood coming out in force
xxmakeupgothxx yep seven brides for seven brothers was the only one i liked as a kid many years ago. my mom loved musicals and i hated them except that one. somehow i still remember the brothers names .Adam, Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank and Gideon
nate bond I watched it the other day, I like all the classics ... king and I, calamity Jane all like that
This makes me happy. Not that the kids didn't know all of them, but that they seemed interested in learning more about the ones they didn't know.
Do they know broadway musicals (elders, adults, or teens)
Rose Attuso yes this is a good idea.
Rose Attuso I'd like to see teens do that !
What about kids? That could be interesting.
It would just be hard to do a react video to
Okay I'm not a musical person, but c'mon "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" every living being knows that one XD
I don't
Whaaaaaaaaaaa?? okay you might either be really young or someones been hiding the TV from you lol :)
I'm 18
Oh lol, really? You need to watch that movie, like it's a classic. I don't know anyone who hasn't seen it, until you and them. But anyways hope you enjoy it if you do watch it :)
Okay, maybe I will. And thanks
I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW 7 BRIDES FOR 7 BROTHERS THATS MY FAVOURITE MUSICAL!
I did too! I freaked out when I saw it.
I think it's because not many people seem to know it. So, I get really excited!
Danielle Hughes same it's my favorite movie
The only ones I was able to get on the first tries were Singing in the Rain, West Side Story, and the Sound of Music!
Spider-Manda Lol The Sound of Music was like part of my childhood thanks to my Grandma. I'd pretend to renact the farewell song with my older sister haha me being Greta..
Spider-Manda I only got west side story and fiddler on the roof
Amanda I got all of them in the first shot. I watched a ton of musicals with my mom and grandma growing up. 😂😂
Do more, do they know movie musicals.
MORE!!!!!! Halloween edition! Do they know Thriller/Horror Musicals!!!! :D
I feel like Mary Poppins and Grease are too common. Everyone would have guessed them right. The musicals they showed were perfect. All were huge movies back in the day. And Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is a must see if you love musicals. They showed one of the best dance scenes to be in a musical, in my opinion.
Great selection - especially the criminally underrated Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
"That looks like the 80's, that's WAAAY to old for me."
*tips computer over and leaves.*
when you're such a musical nerd that you knew every single one of them and then you sit there like you're also missing so many iconic musicals
I knew all of these from the first chord and I was just LOSING IT
Grace Hunziker SAME
I can believe that they have to hear of 7 brides for 7 brothers, but that makes me cry! It's a perfectly choreographed and awesome show! And the actor for gideon is the leader of the jets!!!
Forgot MARY POPPINS
Chelsea clouds these were stage musicals adapted to film, Poppins went straight to film.
And The Wizard of Oz!
Chelsea clouds agreed
Chelsea clouds And Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
and Grease
the scene from fidler on the roof= the original Harlem shake 😂😂
doop mcdoop ^
no its the hebrew shake!
But did any of them notice that Russ Tamblyn was both Riff in West Side Story, and Gideon (guy in the blue shirt) From Seven Brides?
Heather W... I did ♡
Heather W THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT I WAS LIKE HMMM IS THAT GIDEON WOWOOWWW
Heather W yes! I enjoy that they put those two back to back 😂
Ohhhh how did they recognize music man but not west side story ???? Also thanks choir class for showing me all these old movie musicals :)))
7 Brides for 7 Brothers was my favourite musical growing up! I was so surprised to see it here. No one ever knows about it, and the barn dance scene is ICONIC!
We know it! :) So glad to see love in the comments for the musical! - FBE Team
ethan only ever talks about family guy
thechristinemachine How bout it. The Simpsons had used Music Man for promoting the Monorail. But South Park addressed the Simpsons in The Simpsons Did it.
That was me i only knew what family guy copied
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Peter did sing a song from "The Music Man". It was the song "Shebuppy" (I probably misspelled it). He sang it during the episode where he started playing professional football.
I’ve never seen an actor better matched to a role than Robert Preston in The Music Man. He was just amazing. And that little black kid needs to expand his horizons because he didn’t know any of them and they’re all iconic.
Fiddler on the Roof is so iconic I guessed it immediately and haven't even watched it yet lol
Here's your chance: ruclips.net/video/TBmIfMbCL-Y/видео.html
For some reason I want to watch "Fiddler on the Roof." Been a long time since I've seen it.
It's an amazing musical. I grew up watching it, and it's on TV all the time.
Thyny San i just picked up a vinyl album with the original broadway cast!! Its so wonderful!
Thyny San Me too. We watched it in my global studies class freshman year of high school 20 years ago. Haven't seen it since.
I watched it for the first time in YEARS the other day-it was like seeing it for the first time. Beautiful musical.
The reason is it's fantastic
2:43 its so funny that he says that because they did an episode on "Family Guy" were Peter sings a song from The Music Man called "Shipoopi" after scoring a touchdown.
You should’ve said ‘classic’ in the title cause that makes a difference for musical theatre fans
How can you not know The Sound of Music...
In what world have you been living?
I literally choked at the girls who said Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was Oklahoma. Ugh. 🤦🏼♀️
Huh
The number of times I had to watch The Music Man growing up, man oh man. Also The Sound of Music is something that should be watched at least once a year.
Reina was like OOOOOOOKLAHOMA!
Announcer: It’s seven brides for seven brothers
Reina: WAIT WHAT ?!
Not knowing others moving is fine but What. "Sound of music" and "marry Poppins" not knowing that doesn't make sense. Even 2010 born people know. Its always mention in most of time. It's old but gold. Damn.
They need to watch more old classic musical .
One Answer = Never Know Who Julie Andrews .
Also include fiddler on the roof .
Was there seriously no grease?! I'm shocked 😂
Anna Pajala I was waiting for "Tell me more"
Anna Pajala me to
Anna Pajala movie grease is from the 70-80s i think .
Same
All these movies were like at least 20 years older than Grease
Seven brides for seven brothers is so good I saw it on stage 😍😍
oh c'mon, i thought everyone would at least know "So Long, Farewell" everyone learned that in kindergarten/elementary school
Topol who played tevye passed away on March 8th. 2023 RIP. He will be missed
It’s a travesty that so few of them know Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. True you can’t make films like it anymore and maybe the world is better for it, but still it’s a classic. My father who despises almost all musicals loves that film and it is my personal favorite.
SOUND OF MUSIC LOVE
It's sad that the actresses who played the two eldest daughters passed away
Favourite musical of all time has always been Mama Mia, that movie has the best soundtrack ever.
What made me despair for the youngsters was their lack of recognition of Fiddler on the Roof. Come on, that's a classic!
GypsyTimeLady89 Lol, I mainly listen to classical music/opera. I only know about 3 people I can have legit conversations with about said topic.
even sadder a couple knew the gwen stephanie version but not the original
GypsyTimeLady89, first of all, they were all made decades before these kids were born. So, if their parents or grandparents weren't fans of musicals, and they never saw them in school, where would they have heard of them? To be honest, Fiddler's my favorite also, and they're ALL classics.
GypsyTimeLady89 honestly I didn’t know it was a musical until this year
You need to do a Part 2 with more recent/popular movie musicals!
That they need to do indeed.
The guy playing Griff, singing "When You're a Jet" from West Side Story and the last brother, (Gideon) in Seven Brides For Seven Brothers at 4.27 behind the guy in the brown suit, are one and the same guy, called Russ Tamblyn. The bit in West Side Story at 3.37, that Thomas said was cool, swinging down from the high bar, was put in as Russ Tamblyn was a trained gymnast.
The phrase 'The rain in Spain came mainly on the plain', was used as an exercise for pronunciation correction back in the day.
"It's old, like from the 80's"
"It's a bit older than then"
"Oh well that's really old"
Haha
as a theatre kid i found this insulting anyone else???
makeupcatwalk55 As a fellow theatre kid I was getting mad when they didn't know them. The little red head girl gave me hope when she knew every single one of them.
Yes, I litterally knew every single one.
I found it triggering that they didn’t use rent like one of the all time greats which was made into a film wasn’t used
as a theatre kid i found this really embarrassing as I knew LITERALLY NONE except maybe one or two.
Yes!! so annoying
You should do another one of these with musicals from the mid-70s to 80s and include Rocky Horror, Grease, Annie, Fame, the original Hairspray, etc.!!
And maybe even an episode of exclusively Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, like Oklahoma, South Pacific, Carousel, State Fair, The Kind & I, etc.!!
No Rocky Horror?
FatalityMasterHGR THAT'S MY MOVIE💘👏👏✋✋
I was hoping for Time Warp
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is awesome. And finally saw Fiddler on the Roof recently...it was soooo good!
YOU NEED TO MAKE A PART 2, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MAMMA MIA, GUYS AND DOLLS, LES MIS!!!!
Grease
YES GREASE IS AMAZING AS WELL
Guys and dolls!!!!!!! Mary poppins !!!
what no Rent, Moulin Rouge, or Chicago?
Thomas Zulli I'm mad. Dunno at what this vid even is without them lil
i guess they were trying to do a "classic musical" do "they" know....but if so then put "classic" in the title
Thomas Zulli i think the point was to avoid more contemporary shows, and see how the kids could recognize older shows!
Thomas Zulli Too recent
Too new as films. Also, Moulin Rouge only has 1 song actually written for the film, "Come What May" and fun fact, it was meant first for R&J in 1996. So other music- probably not the point of this.
Next one has to be "Do They know it - Modern Musicals"!
Martinho Júnior YES and play songs from Hamilton and waitress and wicked and in the heights and school of rock and LOTS OF ITHERS
+swag daddy I have found my people!
Bring on The Genetic Opera!
The three people that didn’t know the Sound of Music are literal criminals
How do u see West Side Story on Netflix if it isn't even there 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Stephanie L Beeeeccccaaaaaaauuuuusssseeeee when this video was posted, the movie was still on Netflix?
west side story was on netflix with a bunch of other musicals. I think it its been taken down now which sucks.
Stephanie L It was, I actually saw it there
It used to be
I don't know about Netflix in other countries but in mine, Brazil, there was west side story... so maybe he got access to foreign netflix catalogs... don't know
"that looks like its from the 80s" LMFAO
I've watched sound of music like 5 times
same
ive watched it like 50 times lol
Popdatbubble I've seen it like 50 times
Lol I've seen it probably ten times
(and also I was in a play production of it so it's all engrained in my mind)
Pfft! Amateur! I practically know the whole script!
That one boy knew all of them. I would have been like him back at that age
more musicals! Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Grease, The King and I, Chicago, Wizard of Oz, Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, The Jazz Singer, etc!
They should of told these teens that Julie andrews did the Broadway show for Eliza doolittle in my fair lady(it would of be a fun fact)
I was honestly shocked that two people had never heard of The Sound of Music. Like... that just seems so bizarre to me!
"Everything I know is from Glee and I feel really ashamed" SAME!!!!
My absolute favorite musical of all time!!! Seven Brides For Seven Brothers!!!! Ahhhhh I just danced in my kitchen 🥰🥰🥰🥰
"Everything I know is from Glee" GURL I FEEL YA
6:39 LOL..."She looks like she's in pain." I'll never hear that song again without thinking "In pain....in pain!"
I wanna see a part 2 with more recent musicals like Phantom of the Opera and Mamma Mia and Lès Misserable
Do they know it: Broadway Musicals
Emma Kessler Hamilton!!
All time fav musicals are: Guys & Dolls, Singin' in the Rain, The Sound of Music, and Mary Poppins!
I WANTED TO SEE GREASE WHERE WAS GREASE
Emma Germeroth On Netflix 😉
(I know what you mean, I'm just joking)
Too well known
"everything I know is from Glee". hahaha LITERALLY me rn watching this video 😂😂😂
Salvador Garcia Lopez Omg same😂😂😂
Salvador Garcia Lopez
LITETALLY ME
same hahahaha it got me when she said that 😂😂😂
Was not expecting FBE to pull out 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. That's real obscure one. Hope you guys do another one, theres a ton to pick from. Cabaret, Hello Dolly, In the Heights, etc.
KendowGaming I mean, I knew that one but it was only because the clip they showed was the only number I've ever seen from the musical or the film :P
I was hoping for *Man Of LaMancha* to make an appearance as an obscure title.
Same, I remember seeing it as a kid. The outfit's color was the only give-away.
Musicals are always a fun time, we'll dig into archives over time :) - FBE Team
same here, 7 brides for 7 brothers is a favorite of mine too so I freaked when I saw it 😂
Just so everyone knows, no there was no grease
Hunter MM AND NO HAMILTON :((((((
Hunter MM I'm glad I didn't get far in the video then
Grease and Rocky would also be too easy. Too well known.
I was like, "no sound of music?! " *final musical*, "so long farewell…"!!! Yess!!!😆
This is one of my favorite movie genres, movie musicals. Thank you! Thanks especially for " Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. One of my favorite movies, even though it's underrated.
Happy Friday everybody! Thanks for watching this episode of Do They Know It, themed with Movie Musicals; like for more! New episodes release on REACT at noon PST almost every day!

"Everything I know, I know from Glee."
The way that kid sounded so surprised when he said "By George she's got it" broke my heart a little bit.
I knew every single one. no shame
The girl knowing everything from Glee is literally me. That is where I get all my musical knowledge
Oh shut up
When that girl said "Everything I know is from Glee" I was like same
When I heard Make Em Laugh, I immediately thought of the Batman Animated Series episode of the same name.
I knew all of these on sight except Music Man.... Thank you Dad for my movie upbringing!
they need a part two with like Hairspray, How To Succeed In Business, On The Town, Guys And Dolls, etc
dont forget Les miserables.
Gavroche Belcher don't forget sweeney todd
Gavroche Belcher And Hello, Dolly
and Yentl and Funny Girl
you guys forgot "Annie" (1982) something film
Anne Sunil Stephen agreed!
Anne Sunil Stephen the sun will come out tomorrowwwww
That one sucked
if they didn't know annie I would find them make them watch it on a loop until they knew every friggin line word for word lmao !!! if i have to have the songs constantly on repeat in my head , so do they lmao
It's not the only "Annie" movie. I prefer the Disney version with the brunette Annie. Besides, that one was originally from the 70s.
Seven brides for seven brothers is such an underrated musical
I got all of these right!! :D
My favorite classical musical is "Seven Wives for Seven Brothers" I was so sad that only one of them new about it. I hope they do more classical musicals "do they know it" videos
dancersingerlover me too, I thought it was Oklahoma then I saw all the brothers and I realized it was Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
I can't believe that Seven Brides for Seven Brothers made it!! I loved that movie as a kid!!!
Please do this again with some more movie musicals, and add in some modern ones! (i.e. Rent, Chicago, Phantom, Grease, Les Mis, Into the Woods, etc...)
They should do a part two with older musicals from the 30's and 40's. Of course knowing these teens, they probably won't get any. They should also do a part three with newer musicals from the 70's, 80's, 90's etc.
This is a problem for me as theatre student; all the time, especially in the dressing room, there's the people who blast Legally Blonde and Hairspray every day, while I'm wondering when Roger and Hammerstein and Sondheim are gonna come on.
THERE NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER ONE OF THESE OMG
Agreed... They should also include Finian's Rainbow. I'd say that's my favorite musical though.
That moment when you know and love every single one and the Teens have no idea
You should do a part 2 Here's some more suggestions. Unsinkable Molly Brown, Carousel, Oklahoma, State Fair, The King and I, South Pacific, Hello Dolly, also some with Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. And maybe some Shirley Temple as well.
How about Grease or Mamma Mia?
"the girl from Mary Poppins" my heart:( Julie Andrews deserves better
“Everything i know is from Glee, and i feel really ashamed.” As you should be...!
when I'm a 18 male and I knew every single one in the first few seconds, my mother brought me up well lol
Please do another one of these!!! Really enjoyed it! My favourite musicals are: Something Rotten, The Producers, Marry Poppins, Cinderella, & Fiddler on the Roof.
How about teens react to classic war movies like Kelly's Heroes, Apocalypse Now, Bridge Over The River Kwai, The Dirty Dozen, or Full Metal Jacket?
The Great Escape.
how they don't know "the sound of music"? like, wth? 😂😂😂😂
I was so offended by them not knowing some of them, then horrified when some hadn't seen "SOM"
I have no idea why but this react actually gave me hope, that they didn't completely scorn musicals and actually seemed interested is just so refreshing. yes children go toward the music, the singing and dancing are good for the soul.
when she said everything I know is from Glee I was just like yasss I'm not the only one.
