Question about the customs charge: does it vary depending on the cost of the guitar? I'm currently getting a custom one built, and it'll probably cost around £220-230. I don't even know if I'll get charged because I'm not buying it directly through the website I messaged the seller through, if that makes sense. BTW this was a great video, and I'm definitely on your side regarding these cheap guitars. 👍
Hiya. No I think the customs charge is a standard charge. I never got charged on the Explorer but i had an email from uk customs, which I paid and then the next working day it got to the UK delivery firm and then delivered in about 3 days later. What site are you using for custom builds? I’d be interested in reviewing one from there. As soon as my pickups come, I’ll be doing the review of the SG (before and after upgrades) so watch this space and glad it helps as buying a Chibson is a mine field.
best chibson buying tip is don't buy one. Save the time and expense of spending money on it, replacing hardware, and getting it all set up. Many simply develop alignment issues over time, with changes in temperature & humidity, making it wall art anyway
@@rodnyg7952Or you can pay £4444 for a Gibson one from Thomman and still be prone to misalignment due to changes in temperature or humidity. If this guitar had a different logo on it would you be complaining as much? I think not. Lol

I tired playing a guys Epiphone Explorer at a jam session once. The heaviest most awkward and unwieldly thing I ever tried to play. Never again.
Hahaha Yeh a lot of people find the explorer, firebird and V's awkward to play, but I love 'em.

Thumbs down for the cheap China fake review.

Thumbs down for an irrelevant, yawnful, unwanted and pointless comment. Cheers Lol
