the sable conversations are absolutely adorable. her and mable have long conversations and tell you about labelle, their parents who died when they were young, how sabel raised mabel and labelle all on her own, and its really sweet. just today, sabel and mabel had a sweet conversation where sabel acknowledged that her younger sister was an adult now, and that she should be treated as such.

When you talk to your villagers often (up to 5x when you bump into each other) chances are: - they’ll play treasure hunt with you - they’ll ask you to deliver random stuff to another villager - they’ll buy fish or insect you have in your pocket - they’ll ask you to fish or catch an insect for them - they’ll compliment what you’re wearing and give you a clothing item that goes with it - they’ll ask you if they should change their catch phrase

I know everyone is tired of the bunny day items but supposedly the clock that you can craft does this too, like some kind of cuckoo thing, which is pretty neat.
Knowing the Sabel thing I made sure to talk to her every day. Took a couple weeks to get full conversations (haven't time travelled) didn't even mind if I didn't "get" anything from her. Just warmed my heart seeing her come out of her shell 😭
I know! Seeing Sable open up is just so heartwarming!! I love Sable so much! Mable is just so adorable and she melts my heart! Mable is honestly my favourite character and Sable is quite a close second! I love them both!

So I got the wooden japanese shoes and I noticed when I walk/run on my stone paths they make a clicking sound, but as soon as I go on grass/sand it softens. So the sounds of your foot steps will change depending on your shoes. Thought it was pretty neat.

A ton of people who are new to the series don't know this. I tell all my friends who are new to animal crossing to talk to sable. They just talk to her once, assume she's always like that, and don't go back to her until I beg them to
One of my islanders I encountered while running from wasps said the line 'Leap into my arms and I will carry you to safety, or least that's what I'd say if you weren't being chased. You better run.'
Just too add a bit: - Balloons spawn every 5-10 minutes. Sometimes they don't spawn for 15 minutes but it's still handy to check the beach when the clock hits 5 or 10. - Balloons consistently spawn on ONE side of the island and always fly towards the other. You can check the chimney smokes for wind direction but since they all fly from the same side you should know just from spotting one. - The side they spawn flips every 12 hours. That means they fly from one side in the day and another in the night. - They spawn at the beach or off the coast so you may have to run away from the beach a little if the clock hits and they don't spawn. This mechanic helped me pop enough non-egg balloons to get all the cherry blossom DIY recipes amidst of all the egg rubbish that fills the sky.
@@chetawanung-adjmagool9967 Actually they spawn every 5 minutes at the times that end in 4 &9 ex: 5:34. They are visable a minute later as they reach the beach. To further guarantee, 2 minutes before spawn time open an item buying screen, and be outside before the spawn time. That resets balloon spawns
I’ve found if a resident has a piano in their house and they have music playing, if you sit at the piano and start playing it you’ll play in harmony with the music, a cute little thing, but it’s fantastic 🙌🏼
Inside the museum, in the fossil exhibit, there's a glass panel with images of different villager types. If you stand in the empty slot at the far right, a spotlight will shine upon you.

Few more things: when villagers playing instruments. If you put instruments close to the music player as well, they will play the rhythm to the music (such as wood knocker) Aliens. Watch your tv in your house at a Saturday on 3:33am. They will appear on it. So far don’t know what changes after that

Fun fact: Wilbur actually shows up sometimes in the airport. My friend was leaving back to his island once and Wilbur walked behind him as he left. It was a cute easter egg.
Oh, BTW sable offers 10 pages of custom patterns. Polka dot print, striped, checkered 1, checkered 2, traditional 1, traditional 2, retro, natural, toys and cool styles. I think it was around 20 days to get her to speak to you, like it was the last time with the sewing machine. Maybe a month.

I time travel quite frequently and you can give one villager multiple items of clothing and they will switch them around and wear different outfits every day.

Animal crossing PRO TIPS 1. If you talk to the islanders, they speak to you. 2. If you feel like your tool is about to break, you can always just eat it. 3. Years of hard work and training allows you to catch the legendary sea bass. 4. Re-burying fossils does nothing. 5. 6. The last tip isn’t empty, you just can’t see it. Ask your cat for help. 7. Turnips can be rearranged to spell Spinurt. 8. I have a cousin named Spinurt. 9. Animal crossing is best played on the Xbox. 10. Lick your bells to cure them of leukemia. 11. If you keep hitting your residents with your net, eventually you will catch them. Donating them to the museum greatly confuses blathers, but he doesn’t refuse. 12. Your eyes aren’t real. 13. Random doesn’t equal funny. 14. When visiting a friend’s island, make sure to chop their trees down. 15. I will probably update this list in the future. 16. Bananas are probably in the game. 17. When I first met Sable, I wanted to be friends with her, but she sounded so reluctant to talk to me. :( At first, I was worried that if I kept trying to talk to her, she'd become upset with me. But then I read that I could befriend her. Then each day I talked to her, I noticed her words slowly becoming friendlier. Then just today, she finally opened up and properly introduced herself to me. :D And Mable was like "Wait, what just happened? :O " BTW, when the store is closed, I wish I could see them outside like regular villagers, so I can chat to them and give them gifts and stuff. :3 Another thing, I initially thought villagers would get annoyed if I kept talking to them. (Maybe I got that from World of Warcraft, where NPCs start sounding annoyed if you keep clicking them.) Or when I saw 2 of them chatting, I'd think "that's nice, I'll leave them to it", not knowing it was a prompt for some fun dialogue.
The villagers do kinda get annoyed if you talk to them a lot at once (rather than upset, I think they just don't wanna talk anymore XD it's fine if you leave the area, then go back to talk to them)
@@606aichan7O7 Yeah, I've seen clips of villagers who are starting to get all uncomfortable. And at least one where the player tries to talk, and they just turned and walked away.
By the way the dialogue you get with Wilbur is actually the same as a dialogue you can get with jock villagers when you're visiting a friend's town. It's not just leftover text
Seeing those dinosaurs reminded me of a nice family memory. My brother in law has a hook on his home office door, and when he hangs a bunny on it, it means be quiet he's working. It legit works too! Somehow 4 kids all shut up and stay quiet. When I asked about it, he said my nephew when he was very young would sit up against the door and wait for him to finish work, and he would "defend him" in his office, until he fell asleep one day and fell and bumped his head. So my BiL got one of his toys and said Bunny could keep watch instead. That was like 9-10 years ago and it's still a family tradition type deal. My BiL also said he absolutely never abuses the bunny system to make everyone shut up, because if he does it once, it'll never work again and he has important calls and stuff to make. I thought that was nice lol I'd throw that bunny up for naps and shit every day! But that does make sense, if they think he isn't actually working, they won't shut up when he actually needs quiet. Anyway, it's just something nice that those dinosaurs guarding his office reminded me of. My brother in law Steve is a good dude. Ima see if he wants to visit my island. Maybe.
hearing that really makes me want to grab a music player and have the villagers attempt to sing K.K. Metal. I can't even imagine how hilarious it would be to hear that.
Wilbur's dialogue is actually just normal villager dialogue. I forget which personality type it is, but I've seen the line he said in that video from one of my own villagers.
The Sable thing is actually a little frustrating. I've gone to that store everyday since it opened but I only talked to her on the first day. I bet I would've gotten a few pattern sets by now.
How is it frustrating? I didn't even know about the pattern thing until watching this video. I've talked to her daily since opening my store. It's just something new to look forward to because I love Sable. She's a sweetheart and I'm glad she sees me as a friend. The fact I'll get presents later is just a bonus.
Here’s two neat things about the game. When you have a bug or fish, press the “show it off” button and the animals will clap for you. NPCs like Isabelle and Tom Nook will also clap for you. Blathers will also clap when you pull out a fish, but if you pull out a bug, he will become distressed and most likely will want you to put the bug away. Another thing about the singing animals is that the radio doesn’t have to be at the plaza. You can place it up on a random hill on the opposite side of the town and they will automatically know what is playing on the radio and will sing along.
I love it when I give gifts to my fellow islanders and they find a spot to put it in their home to use 😊 so many little details that just make me smile
I think this one can be a bit useful, although it hasn't helped me much yet When there are bees following you, you can run in circles and by doing that you become faster than them. If you do it too much you can even run into them from the back. I think this can be useful if you have the net ready, but you aren't in a good position to catch them, not sure though if you can catch them after running in circles
If you spin them around then use the wheel to pick the net quick enough they will continue in circles a couple times around you, buying you enough time to get the net out and grab them
Just shake the trees with the net already equipped and shake from the front it's pretty much a guaranteed catch every time It's really easy to catch them in this game
When I was playing new leaf it took me forever to get the sling shot. So what I would do to get presents was I'd have to follow it to a cliff and right before it goes over, it goes slightly lower before going up and you can smack it with a net to make it fall. It was the only way I could get presents for the longest time. Lol So it's funny you bring up the fact it works in new horizons cos I was wondering
As a biologist who's done fieldwork inside bird nest boxes, I can tell you a single wasp can make surprising progress on a nest overnight. Definitely not as much as in the game lol, but that's not much different from fruits popping up year-round in a matter of days
Maybe this is Alex's first AC game cause in New Leaf, for your 1st few days since you won't have a slingshot yet, hitting the balloons with the net when they're close to a cliff is the only way to get them.
You can try to invite special characters via Amiibo! You get some cute dialogue. Leif's is precious: he says it's the happiest news he's gotten all day, but he had to pass because he has to nap.
I've only had the game a week so everyone probably already knows this but on the beach, there are those little dots that appear and spew water out of them. if you dig them up, you get manila clams which are used to make fish bait. You can also get gold nuggets from balloons, as i got one recently. They sell for 10,000 bells and can be used to make golden tools.
The direction balloons come from is dependant on wind direction. Not sure if thats always the case but for me they always seem to come from the east for most of the day and from the west at night. It was easier to tell the wind direction while the Cherry Blossom petals stuff was going on. And for another useless but fun bit of trivia: When someone visits your island or you return from a visit, you can actually see the plane trails in the sky for a while if the sky is clear enough. Easiest to spot at night.
Oh so if you hate one of your villagers you are able to hit them with a net if you are far enough away so you don’t accidentally talk to them. They will eventually get mad if you do it enough times, and if you repeat that for several days they will eventually move out.

One that has been making the rounds recently is that before talking to Wilbur and asking to go to a Nook Miles island, is you use the clap emote and wait for him to blush in response it has been reported (I haven’t tried it personally but there is footage) that it increases your chance somewhat of going to a rare island like tarantula, money rock or shark island. Maybe look into it if you haven’t already
I already said this in another comment but according to some dataminers, this is actually false, and only a rumour. (Still clap for wilbur though, he is a helpful dude)

I just wish that inventory could be accessed when crafting inside the house (obvi) and that moving buildings was more efficient. I'm dreading having to organize my residents and ill probably have to resort to time travel. I just wish this game wasnt so against immediacy lol
I think the villagers will have one song assigned to them to sing when not given a song. Eugene used to sing this song that I really liked and I thought it was just his own little tune. When he started singing in the plaza, I tried out all my songs (Bubblegum K. K. being my favorite) but when I got to K. K. Disco, I realized that that was what he had been singing the whole time.
For the Sable thing, every day once you unlock it, she’ll give you a new fabric. I don’t know the limit, but I have like 5-6, and I saw that this video had ones that I haven’t gotten yet, so yesssss.
The dialog Wilbur uses is actually recycled villager phrases that are completely random. I know this because I got that same phrase from a villager while visiting my friend on his island. Also persobally confirmed Sable gives you fabric for customization after a week of talking. I'm hoping they will let you access clothing customization in the shop like they did in a previous game. Also, try inviting Isabelle to camp. You get an adorable cutscene of her all flustered that she can't because she is so busy.
If you fish up trash like a tire, a boot, or a can, then try dropping them in a location of your choice, sooner or later you'll have a fly land on the trash that you can catch. I heard this works with a rotten turnip as well.
Only found out last night that spiders drop from trees at night instead of bagworms. Sadly it's just described as a spider, but it looks like a agriope aurantia
I’ve heard if you applaud to Orville and he blushes before you head to an island he’ll give you a special rare island like scorpion/tarantula or bells. But most of the time it doesn’t work but worth trying
It just increases the chances. Why it seems like it’s been “disproven” is because everyone has their own opinion on what a rare island is. Tarantula island and money rocks island arent the only rare island.
People probably know this, but if you put an instrument next to a music playing type thing, villagers will play along to whatever song is playing. And if you put a mic next to a music playing thing, villagers are more likely to sing.
*_"One Turnip is ten Turnips"_* I also started talking to Sable every day as soon as we got the Able Sisters Shop. Not to get anything special, just to become friends with her. She hasn't given me the patterns yet, but I'll keep an eye out!
The problem with eating turnips is while it does save time, and you are correct that if you bought them at around 100 per, it’s the same as your native fruit....you’re missing out on the opportunity cost! It’s the same reason you shouldn’t even eat your native fruit! Native fruit is going to sell for 500 elsewhere. Turnips you’re hopefully going to sell for 300+. The best thing to eat that’s regularly available is probably coconuts. Though if you have a bunch of excess bunny eggs, they could be good too (I haven’t checked to see how much they sell for yet though)
Here is a little tip. If an islander is sitting down (they can sometimes sit in the way and u cant give them gifts when they're sitting) simply walking in to them for a second makes them stand up again allowing you to move/gift them
Also, if you use the clapping animation in front of Wilbur before speaking to him, he will give a series of animations back, but if he gives the blushing animation, you have a better chance of getting a rare island.
You can place the music player anywhere outside on the island, and the animals will sing that tune even if they are nowhere near it. Only one song can be active outside at a time.

Look at the smoke coming from the chimneys if you're wondering where the balloons are coming from.
What do you mean by this? Do the balloons actually come from Villager’s chimneys?
Press no the directions that the smoke is blowing is the opposite direction the balloons will be blowing.
Just too add a bit:
- Balloons spawn every 5-10 minutes. Sometimes they don't spawn for 15 minutes but it's still handy to check the beach when the clock hits 5 or 10.
- Balloons consistently spawn on ONE side of the island and always fly towards the other. You can check the chimney smokes for wind direction but since they all fly from the same side you should know just from spotting one.
- The side they spawn flips every 12 hours. That means they fly from one side in the day and another in the night.
- They spawn at the beach or off the coast so you may have to run away from the beach a little if the clock hits and they don't spawn.
This mechanic helped me pop enough non-egg balloons to get all the cherry blossom DIY recipes amidst of all the egg rubbish that fills the sky.

To further guarantee, 2 minutes before spawn time open an item buying screen, and be outside before the spawn time. That resets balloon spawns

I’ve found if a resident has a piano in their house and they have music playing, if you sit at the piano and start playing it you’ll play in harmony with the music, a cute little thing, but it’s fantastic 🙌🏼

Sometimes they don't wear it and I've seen people say they've found clothing theyve given characters in the recycling bin when they move out.
I time travel quite frequently and you can give one villager multiple items of clothing and they will switch them around and wear different outfits every day.
I hung a custom design (of a strawberry dress) up in Able Sisters and Agnes (an adorable pig) has worn it around the island quite a few times!

When I first met Sable, I wanted to be friends with her, but she sounded so reluctant to talk to me. :( At first, I was worried that if I kept trying to talk to her, she'd become upset with me. But then I read that I could befriend her. Then each day I talked to her, I noticed her words slowly becoming friendlier. Then just today, she finally opened up and properly introduced herself to me. :D And Mable was like "Wait, what just happened? :O " BTW, when the store is closed, I wish I could see them outside like regular villagers, so I can chat to them and give them gifts and stuff. :3
Another thing, I initially thought villagers would get annoyed if I kept talking to them. (Maybe I got that from World of Warcraft, where NPCs start sounding annoyed if you keep clicking them.) Or when I saw 2 of them chatting, I'd think "that's nice, I'll leave them to it", not knowing it was a prompt for some fun dialogue.
The villagers do kinda get annoyed if you talk to them a lot at once (rather than upset, I think they just don't wanna talk anymore XD it's fine if you leave the area, then go back to talk to them)

By the way the dialogue you get with Wilbur is actually the same as a dialogue you can get with jock villagers when you're visiting a friend's town. It's not just leftover text
Seeing those dinosaurs reminded me of a nice family memory.
My brother in law has a hook on his home office door, and when he hangs a bunny on it, it means be quiet he's working. It legit works too! Somehow 4 kids all shut up and stay quiet.
When I asked about it, he said my nephew when he was very young would sit up against the door and wait for him to finish work, and he would "defend him" in his office, until he fell asleep one day and fell and bumped his head. So my BiL got one of his toys and said Bunny could keep watch instead.
That was like 9-10 years ago and it's still a family tradition type deal. My BiL also said he absolutely never abuses the bunny system to make everyone shut up, because if he does it once, it'll never work again and he has important calls and stuff to make. I thought that was nice lol I'd throw that bunny up for naps and shit every day! But that does make sense, if they think he isn't actually working, they won't shut up when he actually needs quiet.
Anyway, it's just something nice that those dinosaurs guarding his office reminded me of.

Here’s two neat things about the game. When you have a bug or fish, press the “show it off” button and the animals will clap for you. NPCs like Isabelle and Tom Nook will also clap for you. Blathers will also clap when you pull out a fish, but if you pull out a bug, he will become distressed and most likely will want you to put the bug away. Another thing about the singing animals is that the radio doesn’t have to be at the plaza. You can place it up on a random hill on the opposite side of the town and they will automatically know what is playing on the radio and will sing along.
I love it when I give gifts to my fellow islanders and they find a spot to put it in their home to use 😊 so many little details that just make me smile
I think this one can be a bit useful, although it hasn't helped me much yet
When there are bees following you, you can run in circles and by doing that you become faster than them. If you do it too much you can even run into them from the back.
I think this can be useful if you have the net ready, but you aren't in a good position to catch them, not sure though if you can catch them after running in circles
If you spin them around then use the wheel to pick the net quick enough they will continue in circles a couple times around you, buying you enough time to get the net out and grab them

The convos with sable are adorable, so I was talking to her anyway, but I got a pattern pack and I was like “wow! Okay awesome!!”.
When I was playing new leaf it took me forever to get the sling shot. So what I would do to get presents was I'd have to follow it to a cliff and right before it goes over, it goes slightly lower before going up and you can smack it with a net to make it fall. It was the only way I could get presents for the longest time. Lol

As a biologist who's done fieldwork inside bird nest boxes, I can tell you a single wasp can make surprising progress on a nest overnight. Definitely not as much as in the game lol, but that's not much different from fruits popping up year-round in a matter of days

I've only had the game a week so everyone probably already knows this but on the beach, there are those little dots that appear and spew water out of them. if you dig them up, you get manila clams which are used to make fish bait. You can also get gold nuggets from balloons, as i got one recently. They sell for 10,000 bells and can be used to make golden tools.

The direction balloons come from is dependant on wind direction. Not sure if thats always the case but for me they always seem to come from the east for most of the day and from the west at night. It was easier to tell the wind direction while the Cherry Blossom petals stuff was going on.
And for another useless but fun bit of trivia: When someone visits your island or you return from a visit, you can actually see the plane trails in the sky for a while if the sky is clear enough. Easiest to spot at night.

Oh so if you hate one of your villagers you are able to hit them with a net if you are far enough away so you don’t accidentally talk to them. They will eventually get mad if you do it enough times, and if you repeat that for several days they will eventually move out.

One that has been making the rounds recently is that before talking to Wilbur and asking to go to a Nook Miles island, is you use the clap emote and wait for him to blush in response it has been reported (I haven’t tried it personally but there is footage) that it increases your chance somewhat of going to a rare island like tarantula, money rock or shark island. Maybe look into it if you haven’t already

I think the villagers will have one song assigned to them to sing when not given a song. Eugene used to sing this song that I really liked and I thought it was just his own little tune. When he started singing in the plaza, I tried out all my songs (Bubblegum K. K. being my favorite) but when I got to K. K. Disco, I realized that that was what he had been singing the whole time.

For the Sable thing, every day once you unlock it, she’ll give you a new fabric. I don’t know the limit, but I have like 5-6, and I saw that this video had ones that I haven’t gotten yet, so yesssss.

The dialog Wilbur uses is actually recycled villager phrases that are completely random. I know this because I got that same phrase from a villager while visiting my friend on his island. Also persobally confirmed Sable gives you fabric for customization after a week of talking. I'm hoping they will let you access clothing customization in the shop like they did in a previous game.
Also, try inviting Isabelle to camp. You get an adorable cutscene of her all flustered that she can't because she is so busy.
If you fish up trash like a tire, a boot, or a can, then try dropping them in a location of your choice, sooner or later you'll have a fly land on the trash that you can catch. I heard this works with a rotten turnip as well.

People probably know this, but if you put an instrument next to a music playing type thing, villagers will play along to whatever song is playing. And if you put a mic next to a music playing thing, villagers are more likely to sing.

I also started talking to Sable every day as soon as we got the Able Sisters Shop. Not to get anything special, just to become friends with her. She hasn't given me the patterns yet, but I'll keep an eye out!
The problem with eating turnips is while it does save time, and you are correct that if you bought them at around 100 per, it’s the same as your native fruit....you’re missing out on the opportunity cost! It’s the same reason you shouldn’t even eat your native fruit! Native fruit is going to sell for 500 elsewhere. Turnips you’re hopefully going to sell for 300+. The best thing to eat that’s regularly available is probably coconuts.
Though if you have a bunch of excess bunny eggs, they could be good too (I haven’t checked to see how much they sell for yet though)
Here is a little tip. If an islander is sitting down (they can sometimes sit in the way and u cant give them gifts when they're sitting) simply walking in to them for a second makes them stand up again allowing you to move/gift them
Also, if you use the clapping animation in front of Wilbur before speaking to him, he will give a series of animations back, but if he gives the blushing animation, you have a better chance of getting a rare island.
You can place the music player anywhere outside on the island, and the animals will sing that tune even if they are nowhere near it. Only one song can be active outside at a time.
