Novembers Doom is so great, incredible music. they actually started out like twenty minutes from where i live, but that was long before i started listening to them
Ah, I'm sure you will. I'm still stateside. I'm from Chicago though, so it woulda been epic in that regard. Again, my condolences to the band, and I wish you all the best.
I'm in the military and was finally looking forward to seeing you guys, In Chicago no less, when I found out you pulled out. Needless to say I was slightly depressed by that. However, I wish you and the band the best, and I hope I can catch you on you're next tour. Stay metal.
@Alejx666 He`s been kicking longer than they have, someone said exactly that and Paul was very clear about it when he said Johan sounds like him instead of the reverse
@EridianAtlanta IMO, Opeth isn't that great overall, but especially when compared to Novembers Doom if you think ND's lyrics are deep. by the book "The Wayfarring Chronicles" it explains the meaning of every song from their 1st album all the way to "The Novella Reservoir" you'd be surprised how deep the writing is. it's a good book. and is only like 10-12 bucks on ND's site (which includes S&H to the US) i have it & it's a good book, IMO.
@AnIconoclast well, lets not judge value only by fans eyes. opeth are between the greats and so are novembers doom. there's really no comparison between them.
@sw0rd0fadvers1ty You're right man, the Sludge and Doom scenes here are great, just so far underground that no one knows about it. A lot of them are easily on par with European bands of the same genres.
I think his growl is unparalleled but the quality of his clean vocals varies from song to song. It doesn't really matter anyway, they make great music :)
Why are people arguing about Opeth? Isn't it kind of subjective when it comes to which one is "better"? Some might prefer them, some might not. Don't get defensive because someone elses opinion isn't the same as yours
@Gay14845 I disagree! Novembers Doom are indeed great, but It's very hard for everyone to be better than Amorphis and Opeth, moreover that you've forgot to mention bands, such as Moonspell, Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride, Sentenced and Tiamat, which are highly regarded too and are not better, nor worse than Novembers Doom. Newer bands, such as Katatonia, Swallow The Sun and Insomnium also diserves attention and respect.
You're right, the video for some reason comes out very dark online. The version that will eventually be released on DVD will be much clearer and looks much better.
Johan has a bit more of a throaty quality to his vocals, and not nearly as clearly enunciated as Paul's vocals. Not negating Johan's vocals, he's great at what he does. I just don't hear too much similarity.
@mrbojangl555 To each their own, man. I don't understand why people can't just like and appreciate both bands, there's enough room in the world for both. No point in insulting someone just because they don't like the same things as you do.
This song is definitely very death metal-ish. But there's lots of songs on our last couple cds that are still quite doomy, and quite melancholy and mellow as well. We just mix it up a bit more than we used to, that's all!
Believe me mbloome, it killed us to have to pull out of the tour, we wouldn't have done it if it weren't 100% necessary. Really sorry that you won't get to see us, but with any luck we'll play again somewhere sometime that you'll be able to go! Thanks for commenting
My friend/co-guitarist in my church's band played guitar and bass for them when they first started.
Yet Paul`s voice has two talents, clean and distorted, haunting clean vocals and menacing growls.
Novembers Doom is so great, incredible music. they actually started out like twenty minutes from where i live, but that was long before i started listening to them
Just beautiful, also the best cover art for an album ever.. its just amazing
Ah, I'm sure you will. I'm still stateside. I'm from Chicago though, so it woulda been epic in that regard. Again, my condolences to the band, and I wish you all the best.
First I ever heard of Novembers Doom was "autumn reflection", this took me by surprise but I love it.
"Only Those Who Have suffered Long, Can Find The Light Within The Shadows".
I don't know why I didn't find this song till after i heard that line in Skyrim's Soul Cairn.
Love this tune
>:D That intro never fails to get me all hyped up.. and his vocals are just magnificent
One of my favourites,great stuff!!
As much as I like the guitar work in this song, nothing gets me more pumped then the drumming especially at the beginning of the song! Fantastic song!
one of my fav ND songs, ND = win
So freaking good. Never gets old no matter how many times I jam this.
Great song.
This is the band that got me into Doom.
2024
The weird thing is all the good and bad things that have happened to me have been in November, and one of my favourite bands are November's doom🤟
Wow I did know that in America there were bands like this...amazing!!!
A dying WISH... to RISE AGAIN🖤

I'm in the military and was finally looking forward to seeing you guys, In Chicago no less, when I found out you pulled out. Needless to say I was slightly depressed by that. However, I wish you and the band the best, and I hope I can catch you on you're next tour. Stay metal.
They sound nice.
Lead vocals novembers Doom
great piece of music!
Vocals really really remind me of Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath). It sounds fuckin similar.
if this band is still together, they could do Viking Metal!! his vocals are perfect!!
2021??
@peeweeyourcat
yes, they still perform... they're in the middle of recording a new album, actually.
Holy shit what a song. I'm rediscovering all these great bands I used to listen too and its so fucking great.
@Alejx666 He`s been kicking longer than they have, someone said exactly that and Paul was very clear about it when he said Johan sounds like him instead of the reverse
A AAA, that fucking chord progression, the looming Bass and those pounding drums.
No hope is here.
A bit, I see where you're comin from. Though I hear more Paradise Lost's Nick Holmes
Chicago's best.
The video is supposed to be dark, if you couldnt tell by the utmost lack of lighting.
This guys are are fuckin' brutal, impressive and lyrical simultaneously !!
Awsum band, rejuvenated my passion ofr doom
"911!?
i have an emergency! i need all Novembers Doom albums NOW!"
This was the album that got me into them. One of the few good metal bands in the US along with Agalloch, Daylight Dies, Nevermore and a few others.
Another great one, (even lesser known) is Xanthochroid.
@SpawnsyBoy Moonspell and Paradise Lost are legends, and those other bands are awesome too
Come to Italy!
America has A LOT of great metal bands
David Sweeney.

@EridianAtlanta
IMO, Opeth isn't that great overall, but especially when compared to Novembers Doom

I'm used to hearing their Doom Metal, but they play awesome death metal too. Opeth is the first thing I thought of when I heard the vocals
tremendous november.
great metal!!!!!!!!!!!!! hard fucking core
@Megadedly Good 'nuff. Thanks.
"A Dying Wish To Rise Again"
fucking awesome, youtube just started playing ever N.D. song in its archives one after another.
@Megadedly I thought they (Opeth) were "melodic death metal." Whatever, I guess the genre doesn't really matter as long as it provokes some emotion.
@GeneLattanzi No, Melodic Death Metal is from bands like Wintersun, Opeth is progressive.
asum song!!!!
asum video!!!!
its my 1st doom metal song i hve ever heard.
can sum 1 suggest sum good doom metal bands???
allways good....
@AnIconoclast well, lets not judge value only by fans eyes. opeth are between the greats and so are novembers doom. there's really no comparison between them.
That... DRUMMING!!!!!!!! XD
* * * * *
@sw0rd0fadvers1ty You're right man, the Sludge and Doom scenes here are great, just so far underground that no one knows about it. A lot of them are easily on par with European bands of the same genres.
For reals!! Holy crap this shit kicks ass!!
I think his growl is unparalleled but the quality of his clean vocals varies from song to song.
It doesn't really matter anyway, they make great music :)
far more than that
@mrbojangl555 They play different genres of metal. Don't compare.
@DevilDriverRulz yeah, Agalloch and 80s metal, but today... i really dont know of any more
whoever gave me those thumbs down is a cultureless heathen!!
la llevan pure doom death metal
Why are people arguing about Opeth?
Isn't it kind of subjective when it comes to which one is "better"? Some might prefer them, some might not. Don't get defensive because someone elses opinion isn't the same as yours
FUKIN GR8 SONG
@lordavormer No man, to Johan hegg. fra Amon amarth

Paul Kuhr is a great vocalist.

@Alejop1995 you would be surprised on the good bands we have dont pay attention to our shitty media haha we try not too also
I'm here from Camel Works
@Gay14845 Seriously? Opeth is amazing. How the hell can anyone be better than them...
@acerb45666555 you only capitalize the first letter in sentences with english
mmm please tell me if i'm wrong...
My Dying Bride and Novembers Doom are just the best bands in the hole fuckin' world.
@sw0rd0fadvers1ty
well there are better bands then opeth that's for sure but this isnt the one.

Bruh his voice 🥴🥴
no coincido con el resto de la peña, si bien no son awesome de la hostia, pero tienen un pase. Se han escuchado cosas peores. 3 stars
a little bit not completley
I hate halloween
didnt expect something like this from the US, sorry, but metal from US is very mainstream or just crappy
@LordHypnos93 We tune down to C, and drop the 6th string down to A#. So it's A# - F -A# - D# - G - C . Hope that helps

True, it's meant to be dark but it'll be alot clearer when we release the DVD, you'll see. It's too damn dark on here.
