4186876? The tanker car does look good, all these builds are so straight forward and this appears to be the largest tank car they’ve released. I’m pretty sure the newer versions are smaller.

Yes 4186876 is the blue passenger car. Yeah, I believe you are correct, she is a beefy tank car... LOL

I wish Lego would give us more rolling stock. That Swiss Crocodile was a beauty of a train and a sign of what they could deliver for adult collectors in the modern era with their enormous parts catalog.

It's interesting to note that the bogie is the same build as the open freight car. Is that the same for all the rolling stock?

Yeah they used that bogie design on all the My Own Trains except the caboose, it was only 4 wheel. A lot of the rest of the 9V used the smaller bogie setup like in the 10002 club car or the Santa Fe passenger cars. Which BTW is the same setup I use in my MOCs...

Essentially an 8 wide car. I think these are technically fan designed. So LEGO still needs to do better

That is a good point, do you measure the width of LEGO trains by the base like a BMR car or do you measure it by the widest point? A lot of the trains that I MOC end up in that 7-8 wide if you go simply by the widest point.. #AFOOL

Oddly enough I don’t have this one. I actually didn’t think it fit with a steam engine

Interesting, as Jaabo implied in his post, it is wider then the other pieces of the train.

If you have enough octan tankers for your trains have you considered building an oil refinery ⛽️. I always thought this set was out of scale with every train tanker LEGO has ever made. It’s too big for my liking. I think the tanker from the 2010 yellow cargo train is better for the scale

Yeah these tank cars are a little bigger then they need to be. An oil refinery would be interesting, not sure where I would put it.
