Hi guys, thankyou! My wife was happy commentating your walk around her home town. We really appreciate your genuine interest and appreciation of the lovely Mauritius and Mauritians.
Many thanks for these uploads. I lived in Mauritius for 2 years in the mid 70s. I'm from the UK. Mauritius 🇲🇺 is a beautiful island and the people are so friendly. Many thanks Ricky and Brian.
I live just a few houses down the street after the temple. Great video. I would not have guessed you guys would have come to Providence. Much appreciated
@@BryanDiscoversWorld I have been following your videos for 1 or 2 months now and I was very surprised to see you in my small village. I am happy that you loved your visit. Like many commented already I loved when you were at the post office/old railway station. Amazing how you were invested. I look forward to more videos. Cheers keep on the good work.
Riki, your tidbits of history are so interesting! I am not so into history but when personal stories make it more interesting, I am all ears! In each video I have seen the "rivers" are empty or just a trickle, why? Wait a minute?! So you know of places that DON'T name all of their roads??!! I have never heard of such a thing! You have been REALLY blessed. It's so cool that so many have gave you special permission to look at and film bits or the whole of places that are special to them. It's like the USA a melting pot! It's wonderful to have so much diversity and culture! Those "little windows" look like drains to me, it looks like they are sloped down like a slide...I don't know though. You are right about the population and that much traffic, it must be out of town traffic which means there's something they want in that town or it's a a path to somewhere else. The chapel ...the section to go and hear the teachings. lol 5C is 41F here! That's not bad! lol It's funny what some people call cold! In the spring when it's 41 we roll down our car windows and stick our arms out to enjoy the warmth hahaha I love that too Riki ( *LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE* )
Thanks Bryan and Riki for this interesting tour of Quartier Militaire. The muslim shrine and Tamil temple were real surprises. I always thought of this place as very wet and green. Technically the centre of Mauritius would be some 7 Km further south near the Dubreuil/ Midlands area. The first time I visited this area as a kid I thought how different it looked from the southeast coastal area I came from.
Looking up info it seems there are lava tubes in Plaine des Roches, Mauritius where there is an amazing looking cave trail. Another adventure for another time.
there is a much bigger cave at coromandel , that is hardly known..i could walk 40 minutes till i reach the mid point. it used to flow lava from coromandel to Albion millions of years ago.
Esperance is French for hope. We are going on a free tour of Quartier Militaire with our passionate, enthusiastic, down to earth and tireless guides Bryan and Riki. Come join us everybody for learning the geography of Mauritius and for some fun, all nicely packaged by our hosts. Many thanks Bryan and Riki.
@@BryanDiscoversWorld You more than deserve it. In the comfort of my loungeroom here in Australia I often go shopping with you and Riki in Mauritius; what an exhilarating and hilarious experience! But I'm sorry for letting you two do all the hard work though. If ever I go back to Mauritius I would like to set foot on Bryan's island as well as Riki's island! You ought to visit ile D'ambre sometime, it's off the north coast of Mauritius but I believe you will need special permission to go there. I've shared four of your videos on my Facebook page. Continue to enjoy Mauritius that you've now made your own. You and Riki are now international superstars!
There was no indigenous people on the Island of Mauritius except the Dodo birds. 😊 The British and the French brought people from India, China, Africa and Europe on to that island hence why it is very multicultural. Beautiful island, very green and it seems very peaceful. 👍😊
I’ve noticed that there is not very much interaction between you and the locals when are you going to learn how to speak Kreole, may be your not interested in the locals not sure please elaborate.

I think it is a cross road to a few bigger towns. Most smaller rivers are only full when it's raining, small island and short rivers
