An episode/s on ehlers danlos syndromes and FND would be fascinating! Especially because there’s so much uncertainty and complexity surrounding the understanding of these things, specifically when it comes to genetics xx
The difference between gene therapy and genetic modification (CRISPR) is that gene therapy doesn't modify your genes. CRISPR modifies the genetic material inside of cells. Therapy just brings additional genetic material.
Actually, CRISPR is really a method more than anything (specifically a method of gene modification using the CRISPR Cas-9 complex). It can be used in gene therapy, which is itself just the therapeutic use of genes or genetic modification.
Currently I'm in a high school course that I can get college credit in (aptly named College Writing) and the topic I chose to do my paper on is de-extinction which revolves a lot around gene editing so Thank You for uploading this at the perfect time lol! I'll be re-listening to ep. 5 and 81 too
I would 100% alter my genes. I have severe IBS that greatly limits what I can eat. And my respiratory system is so messed up I can't breathe through my nose(yes I had a surgery for it it didn't work). I need some serious upgrades 😂
I used to listen to this on Spotify, weird how I gave all of you completely different faces based on your voice. Why is that? ... You guys made me question everything! Great show, thanks!
Oh absolutely I would. Even if it hurt a ton. Be miserable during but after it'd be damn worth. There's a lot of stuff I'd change, since my body likes to destroy itself and would absolutely help calm a certain condition. Heck I would help to develop it, might help a low percent of people but it'd absolutely allow a ton to birth from it, though it has a ton of moral complications when stepping further
i would edit my genes so my body would produce testosterone instead of estrogen and also so i can grow a beard because no one in my family can grow a beard so i probably won't be able to either. i would not want to get rid of any of my disabilities

Hi Sci Guys! If I could edit my genes I don’t think I would. The only thing maybe would be to make my voice naturally lower.

completely irrelevant comment but I just love the opening tune and it randomly plays in my head while I'm going on about my day
I’m a uni student and currently doing an essay on gene editing so thanks for the reference links I’ll definitely be using them in my essay 😂
Hey! Im just wondering if you have sci guys merch?
yes
No word of a lie, I got 4 ads at the beginning of the video 😂 RUclips is getting cheeky
AH ive noticed more longer ads too agh ok not just me
I would definitely edit my genes!, out with the oestrogen and mental health issues pLS
Of course I’d edit my genes, real life character creation is what I’d like
If I can change genes to produce estrogen and not testosterone then yes plz
I'd like to increase my estrogen sensitivity.
That should actually be fairly easy with this tech
Thanks for the info on this subject. Great job 👍
Another great and informative video
So basically mRNA is like a general manager coming in to train and update new processes. Interesting!
I would edit my genes to make my hair grow in black I'm sick of dying it
Me? Would I edit my genes? Not right now. I’m quite lucky to have functioning set of genes with no debilitation abnormalities.
Haii! If I could edit my genes I think I would actually
